John Henry Alston,Jr. died February 8, 2019 at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Vance County to the late John Henry Alston, Sr. and Miranda Macon Alston. A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, February 16 at Rowland Chapel Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jearline Crudup Alston; sons: Shawn Alston, John Alston, and Jerone Perry; sisters: Metricia Talley and Evelyn Alston, Mary Alice Foster; brothers: Howard Alston, and Anthony Alston; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from noon to 6 pm, Friday, February 15 in the funeral home chapel and at the church prior to the service. The family is receiving friends at 132 Gillburg Estates Ct.
