Joseph John "Joe" Tramonte, 70, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on September 7, 2023 at a local care facility. Joe was native and life long resident of the Lake Charles Area. He honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam and was an insulator for Local 112. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, playing pool, and especially dancing. Joe lived life to the fullest, always seeing the glass as half full. There are many sayings that will be remember as him saying including, "We are not building a space ship here" or "If it aint broke, don't fix it!". He will be mostly remembered as one that was loved by many, but loved everybody. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo Victor (Sr. ) and Bernita Johnson Tramonte; siblings, Angelo Victor Tramonte, Jr. and Nathan Allen Tramonte. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories his beloved wife, Judith Fay Arabie Tramonte; two siblings, Anthony Mark Tramonte, Sr. (Dana) and Nancy Therese Henry; daughter, Monica Renee Stutes; step children; Ashley Trahan, Stacy Veillion (Tony), April Trahan, Kenneth Trahan (Nicole), Katherine Whatley (John), Tiffany Zuniga (Alex), Brittany Trahan (Clayton) and Morgan Trahan; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart. Zachary Hudson Mayo, age 57, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Zachary, known to his friends and family as Zach, was born November 15, 1966, in Lake Charles to Bradford Mayo and Diane Vodrey Mayo. Zach graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in 1985 and from Centenary College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education where he ran cross-country. Zach later pursued a master's degree in world missions and evangelism from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He served with the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church in the Appalachian Service Project in Kentucky and later in the New Mexico Mission School. In Khaborovsk, Russia, Zach served as a member of the Mission Society's Co-Mission Team as a US-2 Missionary. One-on-one evangelism was a passion for Zach and one of the places he ministered was on the streets of Austria. In 1980 Zach achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Zach was a very private person and over the years he wrote songs and poetry about his life which he shared with only a select few. One place he was most happy was with his black lab, Sammy. Zach was preceded in death by his father, Bradford Mayo. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Diana Vodrey, stepmother, Ann Mayo, brothers Thaddeus and Joshua, sisters, Stephanie Starkovich and Mariah Fine, and seven nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a. m. until time of the service at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at J. E. Sheila Margaret MacKay, age 85, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Sheila was born on December 12, 1937 in Port Washington, Long Island, New York. Sheila graduated from Valpariso University in Valpariso, Indiana with a degree in English & Mathematics. She worked 40 years at Harcourt, Brace & Jovanovich in the Academic Press division and later for Elsevier which bought HBJ, New York City & San Diego, CA. Sheila loved to read and was a world traveler. She traveled every continent and over 100 countries. She said, "I was willing to go anywhere. . . with a trunk. I was always interested in other places since I was a youngster. " Sheila was a member of the San Diego Masterworks Chorale, Garden Club, Enterprise Club, and The Book Club all of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, William John MacKay and Margaret Duncan MacKay, and two sisters, Eleanor Prillaman and Isabel Perinka. Those left to cherish his memory are her sisters, Ann MacKay Eisen of Lake Charles and Margaret MacKay Belardo (Pre') of Newark, DE; nieces and nephews, Eric Eisen, Peter Eisen (Ashley), Bruce Eisen (Kristie), Barbara Prillaman (Francisco), Brenda Prillaman, Rob Perinka (Lisa), Christy Belardo and Sean Belardo; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. Kinder-Christopher John Sikes 34, of Lake Charles passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023, at a local hospital. Private memorial services and an inurnment in his honor will be hosted by his family at a future date. All of Christopher's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Christopher was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to spend time with his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. He was a hard worker and worked in the hospitality industry. He loved and adored his dog Sunshine whom he treated like a child. Christopher was fun and outgoing and enjoyed "hanging out" with friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his nephew Tucker. Christopher was a kind and caring person, he be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him. "Mickey Davis, 62, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on November 12, 2023, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Memorial services will be 11:00 a. m. , Friday, November 17, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Margaret Light of St. Paul Episcopal Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. , Friday, November 17, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Houston, Texas, on March 8, 1961, he was the son of Frederick Thomas Davis and Deanna Kaye Deskins Davis. Mickey graduated from Lamar University where he was an All Conference high jumper. After graduating, he coached track and football and was a science teacher for many years. He worked at a few different schools in the course of his employment, including Newton, Deridder, LC-M, and Deweyville. Mickey enjoyed many hobbies to keep himself busy in his spare time. He loved watching horse racing and was a partner in his family's horse racing business. He loved cars and cooking delicious meals for his family and friends. Mickey also enjoyed watching YouTube videos and would occasionally create and post his own videos. He absolutely loved the Christmas season most of all. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Thomas Davis; and his brother, Sheldon Davis. He is survived by his mother, Deanna Kay Davis; his sister, Dina Defrates and husband, Greg; his brother, Barry Davis; his niece, Katelyn Dubose and husband, Austin; and numerous other loving family members and friends. Gwendolyn Small Wilson, 82, a loving mother and adoring wife to husband Edward Wilson, passed away in the early hours of November 12, 2023. Gwendolyn was born on December 26 1940 to John Small Sr. and Daisy Session Small in New York, NY. She is the youngest of seven siblings. She attended Charles Evans Hughes high school in Manhattan and received a full scholarship to Bellevue and Mills nursing school in New York. While attending nursing school she met her husband Edward in 1959 and later married in 1962. Gwendolyn became a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse and throughout her years worked in several states. Gwendolyn retired from nursing and state civil service in 2006 after working as a registered nurse since 1960. In her spare time Gwendolyn enjoyed crocheting, reading, and traveling with her family. She always encouraged people to further their education and had a knack for reaching people in a positive way. Gwendolyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward Wilson of Lake Charles, LA; her daughter, Ann Marie and son-in-law, Darryle of Lake Charles, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by all her siblings, Samuel, Rose, Catherine, Vivian, Donald, and John Jr. Visitation will be held on Friday November 17, 2023, at 9:00 a. m. , and funeral service at 11:00 a. m. , at King's Funeral Home.
