Jody Lynn Chambers, 55, of Blythe, California, passed away on May 3, 2023 inPalm Springs, California. Jody was born on January 4, 1968, to Howard Lynn and Norma (Nelson)Chambers in Blythe, California. Jody found the love of rock and roll when hewas about 8 years old while listening to a Kiss album at the babysitters. Sincethat day he begged his parents for an electric guitar so he could pursue hisdream of being a rock star. Shortly thereafter they purchased him his firstguitar. He spent hours and hours strumming the strings in his room until hematched the music. By high school he was jamming with friends in hisparent's garage. To be honest, making him the coolest kid on the block. Jody graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1986 where he was votedmost talented. He married in September of 1989 and had three amazingchildren, Sarah, Ashleigh and Jacob Lynn. Jody pursued a career as aCorrectional Officer with the California Department of Corrections andRehabilitation until he retired in May of 2018 from Ironwood State Prison. Jody was a die hard rock music lover and a talented musician, but his love forhis family was always his first priority which he chose to focus on. He loved toplay loud music and jam on his guitar in his spare time and was able to spendmore time enjoying his passion for music after he retired. Throughout hislifetime he played in many different local rock bands where he developedmany lifelong friendships. He loved to teach others to play musicalinstruments like the guitar, piano and ukulele. Jody was predeceased in death by his grandparents, mother and father, and asister, as well as numerous other family members. He is survived by hischildren, Sarah Chambers and her partner Palmer Ng, Ashleigh Bennett andher husband Cody, Jake Chambers, two grandchildren, Logan Ng and LeylaChambers, his sister, Rorie Chambers and her fiance Brian Wilson, and twonephews, Zane and Chandler Joneson and several aunts, uncles, cousins andhis dog, Callie. Jody was loved by and shared a long close relationship with Cheryl Cox andher children, Heather and Ashley Miller, Jonathan and his wife April, Jacob,and Cheyenne Hoover and her fiance Geoff Vosburg along with Cheryl'sgrandchildren, Aiden Quiroz and Jace Peters. A celebration of life will be on May 13, 2023, from 2-9 pm, at the ColoradoRiver Fairgrounds in Blythe, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requestsdonations be made to the Palo Verde High School Band Department where hehad expressed a desire to volunteer to help young artists pursue their dreams.
