Joanne C. De Leo, 84, of Huntley, died peacefully on June 18, 2022, at Northwestern Hospital in Huntley. Joanne was born in Chicago on April 2, 1938, to parents Neal and Mary (nee Petta) De Leo. Joanne was incredibly proud of her family, and she was affectionately known as "Auntie Joanne" or "AJ" to her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as her godchildren. She ended every conversation with "I love you more!" Joanne was quiet and reserved, and enjoyed spending time reading and playing Solitare. She was an excellent baker, and her brownies were widely regarded as the best brownies ever. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Joanne is survived by her siblings, Ralph (Camille) De Leo, Mary Ellen (Michael) Petryniec, and Patricia (George) Corter, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and godchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 9 a. m. to time of memorial mass at 10 a. m. all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Inurnment to follow at St. Mary Columbarium.
