VACANTI - Darlene "Dar"Of Buffalo, NY peacefully passed away after a short battle with cancer and is now reunited with her daughter, Nichole Vacanti and brother, Joseph Vacanti on February 17th, 2024 at age 61. Darlene is survived by Mother, Virginia (Harry) Bickhart (Woodcock) of Fredonia; Father, Joseph Vacanti of Westfield; Daughter, Shanna Vacanti of Lakewood; and several Siblings, Russell Vacanti of Jamestown, Mary (Joseph) Lynch Jr. of Kennedy, Steven Vacanti of Lewisburg NC, and James Vacanti of Springvale ME; and one grandchild, Brock Eppinger. Darlene enjoyed Classic Rock Motorcycles and spending time with friends. She has a smile and laugh that could light up a room. Most of all she enjoyed her independence and freedom and took every opportunity to show it off. No public services will be held but the family does appreciate your love and support during this difficult time. "Theresa Pauline Bilinski, age 102 passed into the loving arms of his Saviour on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Born in Poland she and her family came to the United States and settled in Buffalo New York. She lived over 65 years in the Kaisertown section. She was the eldest child of Stanley and Rita [nee Fous] Bilinski. Sister of the late Helen [late Joseph] Felerski, the late Ronald [ late Stella] Bilinski, the late Anthony [survived by Helen] Bilinski, UT and Edward [Late Josephine] Bilinski. \u0026quot;Auntie T\u0026quot; leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She adored her pets who have gone before her, Tiger, Topaz, Diamond, Leo and Ginger. Thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Elderwood for their kindness and compassion. We can only imagine the reunion in Heaven she is having. For sure there is Placek, Krupnik, Polka Music and cards. There are no services scheduled at Terri\u0027s request. She loved gardening, crocheting, baking, the Buffalo Bills and spending time with her large families - especially at the holiday season. Richard Anthony Mangino

Richard Anthony Mangino Husband, Father, Teacher, Soccer Coach, Mentor and Friend Richard Mangino, 84, of Arcade, died Friday, February 16, 2024 following a brief illness at Roswell Park in Buffalo, New York. Born on February 14, 1940 in Orchard Park, he was the son of the late Edith (nee Saracina) Mangino and the late Anthony Mangino. Richard married his wife Esther (nee Keith) Mangino on February 27, 1965 in Orchard Park. Richard grew up in Orchard Park, graduating from Orchard Park High School in 1957. He attended SUNY Fredonia where he earned a BA in Elementary Education in 1962. He played on the first men's varsity soccer team in 1960 and 1961. He continued his education at SUNY Potsdam, graduating in 1972 with an MS in Science. Richard began his Pioneer Central School District teaching career in 1965 at Arcade Elementary, teaching 6th grade. In 1969, he moved to Pioneer High School and taught Biology and Microbiology until he retired in 1996 after 35 years. During his tenure at Pioneer, he started the boys soccer program in 1968, served as the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach for 21 years and coached the Girls JV Soccer Team in 1987 and later in 1996. In 1986 Richard received the Floyd Peckham Award from the WNY Soccer Referees Association for "outstanding contribution and dedication to high school soccer." Richard served in several leadership roles within the Pioneer Faculty Association, including several terms as President. After retirement, he continued to serve as a mentor to in-service PFA leaders and received the Legacy Award from the New York State United Teachers in 2022. He also served the community and was an active Assistant Scout Master for Troop 55 of Arcade for 15 years, coached an Arcade Area Soccer Club's U-17 Boys Team for three years, and an Olympic Develop Program Team within the United States Youth Soccer Federation. He coached summer camp programs at Grove City College for 13 years and coached at Classic Soccer Academy Camps in Dacula, Georgia. Richard enjoyed reading, traveling, woodworking, biking, hiking, canoeing, and playing his banjo in bluegrass jam sessions. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Richard is survived by his wife, Esther; sister, Kathleen (Jeff) Diskin of Florida; children: David (Lisa) of Orchard Park, Robert (Karen) of Pendergrass, GA, and Elizabeth (Kirk) Winters of East Aurora; grandchildren: Samuel, Adrian, Giovanna, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Liam. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the United Church of Christ, 297 Main St., Arcade, NY at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 with Pastor Josh Bower as officiant. Gregory Paivanas

Gregory Paivanas passed away surrounded by his family on February 16, 2024 at age 63. Beloved son of the late John Angelo Paivanas, PhD and Sophia Drapanas Paivanas. Greg was an enthusiastic trombonist and loved all types of music especially jazz, and big band, never missing an opportunity to attend a live performance. He embraced his Greek heritage through his love of cooking, dance groups, and travels to Greece. Greg and his mother were a dynamic duo and prior to her passing in 2020 they enjoyed hosting parties and wintering in Ft. Meyers Beach, Florida. He was happiest in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. Greg was ready to make spanakopita, pastitsio, or baklava at a moments notice and always had the perfect pre-dinner prayer or reading for the occasion which he was ready to recite in Greek or English. The family is at peace knowing they are together again hosting the most amazing parties. Greg is survived by his three brothers: Thomas (Susan) Paivanas, John Paivanas, and Evan Paivanas; a nephew Nicholas (Brittany) Paivanas, a niece Tessa (Nathan) Mizla, three great nephews Alexander, Samuel, and William; as well as dear family friend Sonja Nelaimischkies.
