Joann Marriner, 85, of Washington (Canton Township) passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 5, 2023 She was born September 17, 1938 in Washington the daughter of the late George Sr and Mary Kohler Pomykala Joann was a member of St Hilary Church in Washington, where she was a member of Christian Mothers, and was also a devoted volunteer She was an Usher and Eucharistic Minister, worked the parish fish fries, and volunteered at the Brownson House She also volunteered at Holy Trinity Church making pierogies and various other church functions She loved her nieces and nephews and attended many of their sporting events Mrs Marriner was employed at Brockway Glass Company in Washington and then as a clerk at Washington Hospital On June 6, 1959 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadowlands, she married Louis E Marriner who survives Surviving is a brother John Pomykala, Sr , her nieces and nephews; Wayne and Chris Pomykala of CA, John Pomykala, Jr , Kimberly Thompson, Tracie Kern, Brian Pomykala, Renee Susko, Bradley Pomykala, and Tracy Turner Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew, and two sisters-in-law Arlene Pomykala and Rosemary Pomykala of CA She was preceded in death by two brothers George Pomykala, Jr and Eugene Pomykala and two sisters-in-law Sue Ann Pomykala and Eleanor Turner At Joann's request, there will be no public visitation All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a m Wednesday October 11, 2023 in St Hilary Church at 320 Henderson Avenue in Washington Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Peters Township In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Brownson House or to St Hilary Church Arrangements are in the care of DeAngelo Funeral Home in Washington A tribute wall is available at www deangelocare com To to the family or in memory of Joann (Pomykala) Marriner, please

Patricia English age 61 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 30, 2023, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center in Canonsburg with her family by her side. She was born November 9, 1962, in Washington, a daughter of the late Thomas Staley and Hazel Aberconbie Staley of Canonsburg. Patricia lived most of her life in Canonsburg and was a Christian. She was a homemaker and an in-home caregiver. Pat was a member of the Canonsburg Senior Citizens, enjoyed bingo and loved her pets. On April 27, 1985, she married Charles W. English who passed away June 3, 2017, after 32 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory is her beloved daughters Wendy M. Staley of Canonsburg and Christina Marsette of Eighty-Four, and her brother Dennis (Linda) Staley of Washington, her devoted sister-in-law Shirley (John) Vasko of Canonsburg, brother-in-law Wayne English Sr. of Canonsurg, grandchildren D'Marion, Navarro Sean, Savanah, Cordell and Maurice. Anthony "Duncan" Thomas age 93 of Canonsburg passed away unexpectedly Tuesday November 28, 2023, in his home. He was born September 1, 1930 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Anthony J. and Helen Donnelly Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and was a proud veteran who served with the United States Army serving as a Master Sergent in Ulm, Germany and Camp Atterberry Indiana, during the Korean War and served several years with the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a faithful member of St Oscar Romero Parish St Patrick Church where he was a volunteer and served as an usher and served as past president of the Catholic Men's Club. Prior to his retirement Duncan had been employed for many years at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems for 41 years where he served as an officer of local union 3968 for 30 years. Mr. Thomas was a dedicated 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Boyle Assembly 3291 for 70 years where he was Past Grand Knight, and a member of the 4th Degree. Duncan was an amateur athlete who was active in many sporting events as long as he was able, especially the Knights of Columbus bowling league. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, scoring a "hole in one" and a "double eagle" at Maggie's golf course. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Tony had a special concern for animal care and prevention of cruelty to animals. He was a supporter of Animal Friends and leaves behind many cats that he rescued and provided for their ongoing care. He was involved with many animal welfare and rescue groups for many years. On August 7, 1952, he married his dear wife Sarah Jane Kern who passed away on November 27, 2017, after 65 years of marriage. He leaves behind his two daughters, Linda (Andrew B. "Bernie") Graytok of Canonsburg and Joyce (the late Harold) Johnston of Cecil, Grandchildren, Jared (Carrie) Johnston, Candice Alexandra Graytok, Casey Johnston, and Heather Lacy (Russell) Graytok, his brother Ted (Shirley) Thomas of Canonsburg and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are his brothers, Robert D. and Johnn Thomas and sisters Carmella Hartman, and Betty Jean Shannon, Shirley Ann Clifton and Helen Orcutt. Lynda A. Milton, 75, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in her home. She was born August 7, 1948, in McKeesport, a daughter of James and Anna Mae Jackson Brownfield. Lynda retired from Evergreen Assisted Living where she was a cook. Her family church was Bethlehem Baptist Church in McKeesport and locally, she belonged to Friendship Baptist Church in Washington, where she served as an usher. She loved cooking, enjoyed dancing, was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and always seemed to be the life of the party. Lynda's greatest joy was the time she spent with family, especially her great grandchildren. On January 16, 1975, she married Clarence Robert Milton, who died October 27, 1987. Surviving are three daughters, Dionne Milton, Roberta Milton and Donna Brownfield all of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Randy Brownfield (Kristina), Avon, Ellen, James and Michael Milton; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Norma Long, Reta Wright, Margaret McCullough and Elizabeth Harris all of McKeesport; a brother, William Brownfield of McKeesport; sister-in-law, Janice Brownfield of McKeesport; three stepsons, Henry Milton (Carmen) of Duquesne and Grant and Robert Milton of McKeesport; four stepdaughters, Barbara Haynes of St. Petersburg, FL and Jan McClain, Janice Milton and Carletta Milton both of McKeesport; and many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, James Jr. , Meredith and George Brownfield; three sisters, Darlene Marcus, Lelia Brownfield and Janet Stinson; a grandson, Clarence David Milton, two stepsons, Roy and Gary Milton; and two stepdaughters, Patricia Milton and Linda Anderson. John "Jack" Holland of Canonsburg passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born May 3, 1940, in Midway, Pa, a son of John D. Holland and Mary J. (Capiola) Holland. For 59 years he was married to Joyce A. (Hulpa) Holland, the absolute love of his life. He attended McDonald High School, graduating in 1958. While attending high school, he participated on the football, baseball and track teams. In 1959 Jack enlisted in The United States Army where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne, 325 Battle Group out of Ft. Bragg N. C. He served in Germany in the 8th Army Airborne 504th Battle Group. After he finished his tour of duty he was honorably discharged from the Army. In 1962 he became a member of the Pennsylvania State Police where he served at the Greensburg, Kiski Valley, Pittsburgh And Washington PA barracks. Jack served as a trooper, criminal investigator, auto theft investigator and troop intelligence officer. After retiring, in 1992, he worked for Brownlee Wiping Cloth in Washington, PA and later Schweinebraten Bus Lines as a van driver for special needs children. Jack belonged to the American Legion (Houston PA), V. F. W. 191, Canonsburg Sportsman's Club (lifetime member), Member of the National Trails Lodge 47 (retired state police association). National Fraternal Order of Police, served as a board member at the Washington Country Club and was a founding member of the Canon McMillan Quarterback Club. He also coached youth football and baseball in the Canonsburg area. Surviving in addition to his wife Joyce are a son Mark W. Holland and daughter-in-law Kimberly. Two grandsons Jacob and Cole Holland, brother and sister in-law John and Gerry Melone and nephews Michael (Terri) and David Melone as well as several other nieces and nephews. Jacks favorite things were spending time with his beloved wife and family. He found no greater joy than having family at his house to share food and drinks with. Querraun "Que" Finesse Talley 27 of Chicago, formerly of Canonsburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday November 5, 2023. He was born on June 24, 1996. He was a graduate of Canon McMillan High School. Que worked as a store manager for McDonalds in Chicago. He was a family man, enjoyin time with his children above all else, he enjoyed watching sports, was an avid Steelers, Michigan, and Lakers fan. He had a podcast and YouTube Channel for Call of Duty. He is survived by his Father Corey James Talley, mother Melissa Lynn Nelson, step grandmother Jonetta Lewis, Girlfriend Sydney Alexis Drummond, three children Nebula Temple Bernice Talley, Hattan Henry Bruce Talley, Querraun James Darius Talley, stepdaughter Wednesday Aroura Ida Drummond, siblings Caleb Louren Sander, Londyn Marie Talley, Tyler James Talley, Corey James Talley Jr. , Jaelee Nicole Talley, Madasyn Talley, Ambrosia Isaac, nephew Kayden, aunts Ina McVicker Price, Ashley Nicole Talley, Alissa Wolpink, uncle John Talley, cousins Christopher, Keshia, Darius, Keyona, Elias, Micah, Marleah, and Makenna, as well as a host of other cousins.
