JOANN 'POKEY' LONGHURST MUSCATINE, Iowa - JoAnn 'Pokey' Longhurst, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus. Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Longhurst, Seth Sander, Trey Sander, Susan Longhurst, and Sara Longhurst. Honorary Bearers will be Gauge Longhurst, Jozlyn Harris, Beckett Marshall, Henley Jo Marshall, and Carter Sander. Online condolences may be made at www. wittichfuneralhome. com . Jo Ann was born on February 21, 1937, in Muscatine, the daughter of Frank and Beatrice Boldt Diercks. She married Leonard Longhurst on February 14, 1959, in Muscatine, at the Zion Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2000. Jo Ann was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hon Retiree Club and Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping, plastic canvas, word searches, and spending time with her grandchildren and dogs. She is survived by her children, Jeff Longhurst of Muscatine, Kim Arnold and her husband, Gene, of Wapello, and Barb Wegner and her husband, Brian, of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Scott Longhurst (Jessica), Susan Longhurst, and Sara Longhurst (Josh), Seth Sander (Samantha), and Trey Sander; five great grandchildren, Gauge, Jozlyn, Beckett, Henley Jo, and Carter; and good friends, Bill and Laural Scott of Minnesota. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; and her brother, Robert 'Bob' Diercks.
