Joan Marilee Kelly Lemon, 82, of Cutler, smoked her last Salem cigarette on her way to the big barn in the sky on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV. Joan was born in Cutler, on July 15, 1936 to the late Robert and Flossie Kelly. She was a 1955 graduate of Barlow-Vincent High School. She moved from Cutler to Vincent in the late 1940s. She then moved to Palmer Township when she married the late French E. Lemon on May 18, 1968. Granny lived, loved and cussed the farm life. Taking care of the cattle, mowing the yard, chores, and keeping Kelly and Jas straight were some of her many passions and joys. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly; granddaughter, Jasmine of the home and Mike Rech of Marietta; daughter, Nancy ( Brent) Zimmer of Marietta; several nieces and nephews and many beloved pets as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Grace Gaughan and brothers, Robert and Clyde Kelly. Out of respect and firm wishes of mom, there will be no services or visitation. She wanted people to remember her the way she was, hard working, badass at times, tough but caring, gentle, loving, respectable, helpful farm wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who was always there for anybody, especially the farm. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
