Joan Pjura Kulish, 90, passed away after a short illness on June 17, 2022. She was born April 24, 1932 to Stephen Pjura and Vera Warga Pjura in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She enjoyed a happy childhood that included trips into New York City with her grandmother for shopping and Broadway shows. She graduated from nursing school and worked as an operating room nurse with her childhood friend Patricia Maurer until marrying Richard “Dick” Kulish in 1954. They had three sons in quick succession, Kevin, Kyle, and Kim. The family later moved to south Florida where they enjoyed boating and fishing in the Florida Keys and Joan resumed her nursing career in the home health field. While the boys attended the University of Florida, Joan and Dick moved to Arizona where they enjoyed desert living and Joan continued working in home health. Dick died in 1991 and Joan later moved to Houston, Texas to be closer to family. She lived 16 pleasant years in independent living at Eagle’s Trace Senior Living. . .
