She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Hornback; a brother, Roy "Joe" Hornback; and her husband of 50 years Kenneth “Buddy” Bryant, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kenneth E. Bryant,, Jr. (Kimberly); a daughter, Debra Moonis (George); her mother, Hettie Hornback; sister, Martha Guzzardo; brothers, Jimmy and William Hornback; grandchildren, Amanda Prevette (Jonathan), Kristen Hagan (Chad), Kristopher Bryant (Brittany); and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral service for Doris will be held on Friday March 1, 2024 at Noon in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Mildred Katherine Cook, 65, of Louisville passed away on February 18, 2024. She was born on November 9, 1958 to the late Fred and Bessie Begley. Preceding her in death are her brothers Charles and Richard Begley. Survivors include her husband of 48 years Virgil Cook, children; Anthony Cook (Melissa), Patricia Deweese (Todd), 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and sisters Connie Sea (Terry) and Barbara Rainbolt (Mike). Mildred was a graduate of Atherton High School and later began her career as a nursing assistant and health care provider. She started her own business in 2008. She was also a beautician and cut hair for several years. Mildred loved playing bingo, adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was a longtime member of Clifton Christian Church. A funeral service for Mildred will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at 1pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home 2428 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206. Visitation will be Thursday February 22, 2024 from 3pm-7pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Edwards, Don Paul? 67, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on February 11, 2024. He was preceded by his parents Viola Ruth and Raymond Theodore “Ted” Edwards, great-granddaughter Ella Dalton, and dear friend Gilbert Sermersheim. Don was retired as an automaker for Ford Motor Company – Louisville Assembly Plant. His career spanned over 30 years, with a side gig as the original soft drink vending man at LAP. His hobbies included working on his home/property, fishing, golfing, and assuring the happiness of his wife. Don left quite a legacy such as being hard-working, patient, helping those in need, and most notably having a deep love for his family. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Sharon “Sheri” Edwards; five children Kimberly Shealy (Mike), Stormie Tucker-Manion (Mark), Leslie Edwards, Chad Baldwin (Emily), Julian De La Cruz and his fur baby Piper. Siblings: Judy Embry (Randy), Jeanne Morris (Sandy), Ray Edwards, Jr. (Joy), twin Lon Edwards (Kathy), Michael Edwards (Sonja) and Mark Edwards (Beverly); brother-in-law Jerry Murphy; 11 grandchildren Kari Shealy, Kelsey Dalton (Travis), Kayla Shealy, Ryan Manion (Jessie), Ginny Manion, Hannah Marion (Andrew), Lainey Manion, Evan Anderson, Dayton Lovell, Elaina and Charlotte Baldwin. 10 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Joseph J. Edelen, Jr., 84, of Louisville, KY, passed away on February 19th, 2024. He was born in Springfield, KY to Joseph J., Sr. and Corinne (McIntyre) Edelen. Joe had many titles in his life, from Navy veteran to Knights of Columbus member, but none were more important to him than husband, father and Papaw. He was also known for cracking jokes and for being one of the kindest, most loving, selfless men you could know. Joe lived a servant's life, dedicating his to loving others. He was an avid blood donor, a champion for the unborn, and the first person to offer help to anyone in need. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1998 after thirty years of employment. After which, he devoted his free time to loving his ever growing family and traveling to new and fun places with his bride, Joyce (Filiatreau) Edelen. His greatest joys in life came from his strong Catholic faith, UK basketball, and spending time with his loved ones, who all surrounded him in his final days. Even in those moments, Joe made sure that each person knew they were loved. Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce; his children, Charles (Leanne), Stephen (Avalena), Thomas (Andrea), Jennifer (Phil); his grandchildren, Bryan (Lydia), Britney (Mat), Joseph (Becca), Baily (Alex), Connor, Sarah, Tyler, Madeleine, Emma and Andy; four great-grandchildren, Elise, Reese, Anna, and Emmett; and close family friend, Wychoff Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and four loving sisters, Anne, Hallie, Sr. Sue and Betty. "Helen “Kay” Horton Tronzo, 71, went to Jesus’ arms on Monday, February, 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and loving sister. She was born on April 24, 1952, to the late Albert Gray and Loretta Thomas Horton. She attended Sacred Heart Schools, graduated from Penn Hall College and was a loyal employee of the Jefferson County Public Schools. As a child, Kay grew up swimming and diving at Audubon Country Club. She, along with her children, were actively involved at the Louisville Turners Swim Club and participated in the annual Turners Circus. Kay had incredible loving spirit. With her many admittances to hospitals and rehabilitation centers, the nurses, doctors and staff all loved her. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Frank Tronzo; daughter, Jamie Marie Tronzo; brother, Albert Charles Horton; and nephew, Albert Gray (Graybird) Horton, II. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Gary Stephen Tronzo; sisters, Sharron Reynolds, Patti Horton, Mary Ann Shu, Debbie Benoit, Rosemary Middleton; and numerous nephews and nieces. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Francis of Rome Catholic Church 2119 Payne Street with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. She was a graduate of Reitz Memorial High School, and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Farrar; daughter, Janet Farrar; grandson, Jimmy White, and brothers, William, and Charles Willett. Betty is survived by Richard Farrar and their children, Julie Guenthner (Pat), Jill Watkins, Scott Farrar (Renee), and Ted Farrar (Sondra); grandchildren, Tyler Smith (Courtney), Kristi Matthews (Cody), Chase Smith, Blake Farrar, Cole Farrar, Anthony Farrar, Valerie Taran (Vik), Jackson Farrar, Jeff Wafford (Carrie); great-grandchildren, Finley, Marlow, and Tatum Matthews, Arya Smith, and Kathrine Gunther. Betty was a fabulous homemaker and cook. She loved Friday night bingo, which she shared with her daughter Janet. She was one of eleven founding members of the local non-profit, Harbor House of Louisville. Harbor House provided her daughter Janet the opportunity to live a fulfilled and productive life in an environment of support and care. Harbor House continues to provide this gift to countless others in the community today. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
