Jo Cooksey Edwards, of Sherrills Ford, passed away June 19, 2022, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Hollis Doyle Cooksey Jr. and Margaret Swaim Cooksey in Winston-Salem, NC. Jo was a devoted wife and mom. She loved spending time outdoors, gardening, and sharing her bounty. She enjoyed shopping for antiques and finding a bargain, crafting, watching sports, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Jo is survived by her childhood sweetheart and devoted husband of 60 years, Melvin "Tommy" Thomas Edwards, daughters Stacie Edwards Mitchell (David), Laura Edwards Jones (Richard "Tommy" 5th), grandchildren, Evan, Cooper, Jackson, and Luke Mitchell, Abigail "Abby", Kaitlin, and Alexander "Xander" Jones, all of Fort Mill, SC, and brother, Terry Cooksey of Pfafftown, NC. Jo is proceeded by her sons, Kevin Neal Edwards, and Brian Scott Edwards, brother Richard "Dick" Hal Cooksey, and sister, Phyllis Ann Stillie.
