Jimmy GentryBlue Springs - Jimmy Gentry, 74, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home. Jimmy was born in New Albany, MS on December 11, 1948 to Billy and Evelyn Gentry. He loved going on vacation to the mountains, witnessing for our Lord and Savior, going to singings, attending church and taking care of his beloved Toyota truck. Jimmy retired from the furniture industry and he was a faithful member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Monday, October 09, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. with Bro. Keith Cobb and Bro. Michael Clifton officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Gentry; daughters, Kimberly Gentry and Stephanie Gentry; mother, Evelyn McDonald Gentry; grandchildren and pride of his life, Clara Short and Greyson Short; cousins, Wayne Gentry, Mike Gentry, Rita Gentry and a special nephew, Jackie Hill; host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gentry; grandparents, Christine and Travis McDonald, Francis and Baxter Gentry and a sister, Kay Gentry Hill. Pallbearers will be Terry George, Jerry Christian, Eddie George, Mike Gentry, Chris Crump and Jackie Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Musgrove, Wayne Gentry, Chandler Crump and Kenneth Gentry. Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 5:00 -8:00 p. m. Margaret Harper Davis McKinney (90) went home to be with Jesus on November 18, 2023. She was born October 1, 1933 to the late JQ & Ruby Harper. She was a faithful member of New Covenant Family Worship Center. She loved to crochet. She made baby blankets for all the new babies, last name signs for family and friends, and afghans. She also made a huge hanging of the Lord's Prayer for her church. Margaret loved everyone and was loved by all. Services are 2 pm Monday, November 20, 2023 at New Covenant Family Worship Center with Bro. David Krech and Justin Pettigo officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant "Bucksnort" Cemetery. Norris Wayne Hill (85) passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at his daughter's home after an extended illness. He was born May 2, 1938 in Lee County to the late Roscoe and Rebecca Hill. He worked at Super Sagles for 40+ years. He loved his God and was ready to meet him. He loved his wife of 61 years, Alene Hill, until her death on February 10, 2018. They were blessed with three children. He loved his family and his friends. He cherished spending time with them. He was an avid Mississippi State Bulldog fan. Services are 3 pm Sunday, November 19, 2023 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the McNeil Cemetery. Martha Ann DeVaughn passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at her home in Baldwyn with her loving husband and daughter by her side. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baldwyn. She was a people person, always enjoying cooking and entertaining others. She was a skilled beautician and always enjoyed seeing her loyal customers. She loved to paint, crochet and anything involving craft work. She enjoyed taking care of her animals, especially her cats. She also loved to celebrate her favorite holiday, Christmas. She was loved by many and will be missed immensely. Services are 11 am Monday, November 20, 2023 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Robbins and Bro. Bill Adams officiating. Catherine Joiner Osborne was born April 13, 1957, in Tunica, Mississippi to Franklin and Pauline Joiner. While born in Tunica, Mississippi, Catherine's teen years saw her attending school in the states of Washington, New York, and Maryland before graduating from high school at Okolona High School in Okolona, Mississippi. After graduating from high school, Catherine attended Mary Holmes College in West Point, Mississippi where she was trained to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She would later return to college at Itawamba Community College where she studied to become an Administrative Assistant. Catherine was known for her devotion to Christ. Her passion for the Lord began early while living in Tunica, MS where she was baptized at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Her devotion to Christ and the church continued throughout her life. After marrying, she became a member of Black Oak Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Children's Sunday School teacher and Children's Choir Director. Later in life, she would move to Fulton, MS and attend Open Door Worship Center. After moving to Houston, TX, she attended Union Church. Catherine's love and devotion was not limited to the Lord. She was a loving mother to her two children, Raymond Jarman Osborne and Veronica Marzeta Osborne. Catherine began instructing her children in the ways of the Lord at an early age, spending weekends reading them Bible Stories and singing hymns to them throughout the week. Catherine showed love and kindness to all who met her. She especially had a soft heart for animals. She opened her home and heart to her dog Pedro and cat Isabella. However, no pet touched her life more than her Yorkshire Terrier, Max. Catherine is survived by her children Raymond Jarman Osborne (Kawana) and Veronica Marzeta Osborne; grandchildren: Cypres Racquel McCoy, Taboris Ramon Osborne (Morgan), Jamya Henderson, Morgan Vanessa 'Rae Osborne, Julian Xavier Osborne, and Ava Ashley Osborne; great-grandchildren: Brooklen McCoy, London McCoy, Keyarie McCoy, James Osborne, and Jack Osborne; sisters: Curlene Bowen, Jerdene Jones, Delois Johnson (Eddie), Jeniece Elliot, Pearlie Joiner, and brothers: Franklin Joiner (Delores), Henry Joiner (Rosie), and Alvin Joiner.
