Jimmie Sands Obituary

Jimmie L. Sands 87, of Zanesville passed away Saturday April 22, 2023, at The Oaks of North Pointe. He was born August 14, 1935, in Morgan County, a son of the late Frank A. and Mary Brown Sands. He worked as a truck driver and served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 stationed in Alaska. In life Jimmie enjoyed many things such as his love for horses, fishing, his beloved dog "Sam" and his family, particularly his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Norval Park Church of Christ. Jimmie was married to his first wife Edith Singree Sands on June 4, 1955, until her death in March of 1957. He then married Donna Mae Knox Sands on May 28, 1958, until her death June 17, 2004. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Donald Gene Sands, one sister Frances Sands Waite, and a daughter-in-law Shirley Dianne Knox. He is survived by three children: David (Nancy) Sands, Dan Knox and Sheri Cooley; grandchildren: Jamie (Brooke) Sands, Sadie (Jason) Stutes, Amber (Krae) Merryman, Andrea (Jon) Arnold, Kolby (Danielle) Knox and Stephen (Sarah) Knox; great grandchildren: Baylee James, Blake Sands, Sophie Sands, Kyle Stutes, Anna Stutes, Karter Merryman, Graham Arnold, Ava Arnold, Owen Arnold, Emily Knox, Madison Knox and Grayson Knox; and special friend Twyla Townsend.
