Jimmie Dockery Obituary

Jimmie Dockery went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, May 6, 2023. She was born on November 10, 1935, in Decherd, TN. She graduated in 1954 from Central High School in McMinnville, TN, and later moved to Chattanooga, TN. She was a faithful member of the White Oak Church of Christ. Most of her professional life was spent working in the trucking industry. She was one of the first 5 employees from Covenant Transport in their Accounting department working as a bookkeeper for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Harrison Davis and Narcissa Jane Davis; sister, Virginia Davis Scholl; brother-in-law, Jack Arlington Scholl; nephew, Jack Phillip Scholl; niece, Bobbie (Doyle) Pryor. Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Lee (Keith) Cleveland; grandchildren Taylor Hart, McClain (Jacob) Tallent; great-grandson, Tate Tallent; nieces, Jacqueline (David) Parker, Elizabeth "Libby" (Rick) King; nephew, Clay (Connie) Scholl; great nieces, Rachel (Rob) Parker Hatchett, Claire (Tyler) Watson Frazier, Jordan (David) Scholl Mewborn, Kristen (Caleb) Scholl Waldrep; great-nephews, Bruce (Susan) Pryor, Kenny (Jane Ann) Pryor, Brent (Tamara) Pryor, Jonathan (Adrienne) Parker, Trey Watson, and loving family members Lee Edwin and Devonda Dockery. Her favorite scripture was, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going. " John 14:1-4 In memory of her life, donations may be made to White Oak Church of Christ. Arrangements will be made at a later date.
