Vaughan, James, age 87, of Broken Arrow, OK, died Saturday, June 18, James Vaughn He was born April 14, 1935 in El Dorado, AR to James Floyd and Annabel Vaughan. James married Barbara Johnson in Oklahoma City on June 8, 1957. He graduated from Bartlesville, OK College School in 1953 and the University of Oklahoma in 1957/1958 with degrees in petroleum engineering and geological engineering. While at OU James was a member of Delta Tau Delta social fraternity. His military service was as a lieutenant in the Army Quartermaster Corps. Jim was an employee of Cities Service Oil Company/Occidental Petroleum Corporation for 33 years as a petroleum engineer in oil and gas drilling and production operations. Work assignments were in Oklahoma, West Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and Colorado. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers. James was a member of South Tulsa Baptist Church in Tulsa. James was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Elias and her husband, Herb and grandchildren: James and Lauren Elias. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Rivercrest Chapel and Event Center, Bixby.
