Alfonso “Poncho” Guajardo, 79, entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 25, 2024. Mr. Guajardo was an enthusiastic boxing and baseball aficionado. He made many memories traveling the world with his wife. He was a published author and will always be remembered as a great story teller. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Manuel Guajardo; mother, Cora Villarreal de Guajardo; siblings, Octavio (Rosa Elena) Guajardo, Amparo (Victor) Lozano and Bertha (Enrique) Naranjo. He is survived by his wife of 52 years of marriage, Maria De Los Angeles Guajardo; children, J. Alfonso Guajardo, Pedro Angel (Maria) Guajardo and Jessica (Harvey) Martin; grandchildren, Andy Cantu, Samantha Guajardo, Dante Guajardo, Demarco Guajardo, Ivan Guajardo, Ximena Guajardo, Harvey Martin, III, Hannah Martin and Haven Martin; brother, Luis (Laura) Guajardo; as well as other family members that will greatly miss him. Dora Espinosa Ramirez; 83, passed away peacefully on Monday February 19, 2024 in Laredo, Texas surrounded by her family. She was a graduate of St Augustine High school and later continued her studies in San Antonio to become a beautician. She was an active member of the Christ the King Choir and served as a Eucharistic minister at St Augustine Catholic Church for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose M and Avelina Espinosa and her husband of over 40 years Juan M Ramirez Jr. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth “Lizzy” (Martin) Gaytan and son Juan M Ramirez III. Grandchildren Gabriella “Gaby” and Isabella Gaytan and her sister Guadalupe Bazaldua. Also surviving her are numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the doctor’s office of the late Dr Milton Haber and staff, Eduardo Lightner her home health nurse, and in addition her caretakers at home Paty, Veronica, Nayely, Anabel and Edith. A private cremation will be held at a later date.

Our beloved mother, Gloria L. Rodriguez, 91, was called home peacefully on February 20, 2024 after a recent gradual decline in health. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas. Her work career consisted of 22 years of service at JC Penny and 10 years at L.I.S.D where she later retired. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband of 59 years, Leopoldo Jr. Sons: Arturo (Alma) and Leopoldo Gerado Rodriguez. She is survived by her four daughters: Emma (Rene) Deleon, Anna (Jorge) Melve, Maggie (Joe) Rodriguez, and Sara (Carlos) Hernandez, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. Pall bearers will be her grandsons: T.J David, Joey, Martin, Arturo Jr., Armando and Arnoldo Rodriguez. The family will be receiving condolences on Friday, February 23, 2024, in the Angelus Chapel at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Hector Lorenzo Rangel, a proud and honorable man, passed away on February 13, 2024, in his hometown of Laredo, Texas, at the age of 82. Born on September 10, 1941, Hector was a beloved member of his community. Mr. Rangel served his country with dedication and honor in the United States Army. His commitment to his military service was unwavering, reflecting his deep love for his country. A skilled Master Carpenter, Hector’s craftsmanship and expertise were admired by many. His legacy as a hardworking and talented individual will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his surviving family members: Tonie (Rangel) Rodirguez, Elvia (Rangel) Vital, Irma (Eliseo) Puente, and Mario (Araceli) Rangel, Laura Rangel, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Hector was preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Blanca Rangel, and his siblings, Alfonso (Bertha) Rangel, Ramiro (Sonia) Rangel, Benito Rangel, Homero Rangel, and Rosie (Rangel) Pina. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Alex Blanco, Rocha Primary Health Care, Ruth De Leon and Mr. Isidoro Renteria. A memorial service to honor Hector will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Fred Dickey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service given by Pastor Dorso Maciel, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Veterans Section of the Laredo City Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor Guard. Hector’s legacy of service, craftsmanship, and love for his family will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace. Jesus Manuel Pompa Valdez “Chacho” nació el 16 de julio de 1946 en la ciudad de Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas y partió a la edad de 77 años para estar en la presencia de Dios nuestro señor el día 18 de febrero del 2024, rodeado de su familia en la paz y tranquilidad de su hogar. Le precedieron en esta jornada, sus padres Aurelio Gregorio Pompa y Amparo Valdez de Pompa. Jesus Manuel fue una persona muy alegre, le encantaba bailar, cantar y acompañar canciones de Los Apson con una pluma. Tambien era un aficionado al deporte, sus equipos favoritos eran los Dodgers y los 49ers. Sus pasatiempos eran pasar las tardes en el patio de su casa al lado su esposa, regando sus plantas y admirando su jardin. “El Primo” como muchos lo conocian, trabajo en Telegrafos de Nuevo Laredo, Bretford Co. de Chicago, Illinois, Casso Guerra, Central de Aduanas, y tambien fue dueño de dos taquerias, (porque asar una riquisima carnita-era su especialidad) “K-Rico” Tacos al Carbon y “K-Taco” Los Originales. Fue bendecido sin medida como esposo, hermano, tio, primo y amigo, el era el orgulloso padre de cuatro hijos y fue un gran guerrero hasta el final. Le sobreviven su esposa Oralia Pompa de 52 años de casados y sus hijos Dr.Carmen Amparo Pompa (Saul Olivan), Claudia Oralia Pompa, Jesus Manuel Pompa Jr. (Irma Aimee) y sus nietos Nina Sophia y Joaquin Manuel y Juan Pablo Pompa (Adriana) y sus nietos Aiden Matthew, Adan Nicholas, Alyssa Odet y bisnieto Adrian Pablo Pompa. Hermanos y cuñados Lupita Del Rio Pompa (?Alfonso), Cecilia Vela Pompa (?Manuel), Irma Gonzalez Pompa (Antonio), Marco Aurelio Pompa Valdez (Maria Elena), Santy Gonzalez Pompa (Homero) y muchos otros familiares y amigos. La familia esta muy agradecida con el cuidado medico otorgado por Altus Hospice Care, el Dr. Carlos Espinosa y todos los enfermeros de U.S. Renal Care, el Dr. Armando Hinojosa, el Dr. Arthur Santos, el Dr. Benson Huang y el Dr. Benji Fernandez.
