Jessica Louise Chadwell Spenneberg, 45, of Carrollton, KY, passed away on September 9, 2023, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She was born on November 17, 1977, in Madison, Jefferson County, IN. Jessica's departure came after a lengthy health problem that she bravely faced until the end. In her professional life, Jessica had worked for Belterra Casino in Florence, IN, and Rising Sun Casino in Rising Sun, IN. However, it is outside of the workplace where Jessica truly shone. She possessed a compassionate and caring nature which was evident to all who knew her. Jessica consistently put others before herself and reveled in helping those around her. Charity work held a special place in her heart as she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to making a difference in the lives of others. Whether it was through volunteering or fundraising efforts, Jessica's unwavering commitment to the betterment of society touched countless lives. Family was of utmost importance to Jessica. She cherished spending time with her beloved husband of almost 30 years, George Spenneberg Sr. , whom she loved dearly. Theirs was a bond built on love and companionship that weathered the tests of time. Their shared journey through life created treasured memories that will forever be held close. Jessica's role as a mother brought immense joy to her heart. She leaves behind three sons: Devon Bruner, George Spenneberg Jr. , and Jordan L. Buchanan; and a daughter, Mercedes (Chris) Upton. Her love for them knew no bounds and she took great pride in witnessing their growth and accomplishments. Jessica also showered affection upon her dog Jimmy and had an affinity for animals beyond measure. Her compassion extended not only to pets but to all creatures big and small. Throughout life's ups and downs, Jessica found strength in the loving presence of her family. She is survived by her mother, Maggie Briley (Gary Garriott); her twin sister, Jennifer (Ian) Munsie; a brother, Bradley (Jill) Tanner; and her grandmother, Ruth Briley and Paul Owens. Jessica was a beloved daughter and granddaughter, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured. In addition to her immediate family, Jessica was preceded in death by her father, John W. Chadwell Jr. , two sisters Julie Ann Chadwell and Brandie Chadwell, as well as maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents. The loss of Jessica will also be deeply felt by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her genuine kindness and warm spirit. The impact she made on their lives is immeasurable and will continue to resonate in their hearts. Jessica Louise Chadwell's life was one marked by selflessness and love. Her dedication to the welfare of others through charity work exemplifies the beautiful soul she possessed. He enjoyed spending time on his porch, basking in the tranquility of nature. His green thumb was well-known throughout the neighborhood, as he took great joy in tending to his beautiful flowers and flourishing vegetable garden. Additionally, Bobby had an immense love for animals and treated them with kindness and respect. His easy-going nature endeared him to all who knew him. Bobby had a warm smile and a kind heart that touched the lives of countless individuals. He approached every day with grace and sought to bring positivity into the world. On November 30, 2023, Bobby passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side in Louisville, KY. (Jerry) McBurney of Owenton, KY, and his son, Barry L. (Lee Ann) Graves of Wheatley, KY. Additionally, Bobby shared a special bond with his step-children Donna Cobb of Owenton, KY and Mary Dawn (Andy) Edmondson of Glencoe, KY, Bobby's memory will also be cherished by his sister Carolyn Noe of Campbellsburg, KY. Bobby was blessed with a vibrant family that brought immense joy to his life. He treasured his 12 grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. Furthermore, Bobby adored his 22 great-grandchildren and ensured they were showered with love and affection. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Arthur and Alberta Louise Bolling Graves and a step-son, David B. Stafford. Gene Thomas Vannarsdall, a beloved member of the Carrollton community, has passed away at the age of 80. Gene was born on December 2, 1942, in Gallatin County, Kentucky, to his father Olen T. Vannarsdall and his mother Virginia Mae Wilson Vannarsdall. On November 28, 2023, Gene departed this life at his home in Carrollton, surrounded by his loved ones. Gene led an accomplished life filled with meaningful relationships and notable achievements. After serving in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam era, he returned to Carrollton and embarked on a successful career that spanned decades. Gene owned and operated "Gene's Gulf Service Station," a bustling establishment that served the community with excellence for many years. He later went on to establish "Gene and Son's Garage and Towing," becoming an essential figure in the local automotive industry. Known for his friendly and helpful nature, Gene touched the lives of countless individuals within Carrollton and beyond. He always had a kind word for everyone he met and was happy to lend a hand whenever needed. His warm smile and compassionate heart made him a cherished friend to many. Outside of work, Gene found joy in simple pleasures. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying delicious meals at Welch's Riverside Restaurant. From savoring hearty dishes to engaging in lively conversations with friends and family, those moments brought him great happiness. Perhaps Gene's proudest accomplishment was his enduring marriage to Bonnie Jean Vannarsdall. Their love story was one that inspired those around them. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was born on August 19, 1945, in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana to his beloved parents, the late George Philip Ogburn and Lillian Justine Wilson Ogburn. Philip led a fulfilling life that left an indelible mark on those he encountered. After graduating from Carrollton High School, where he had been a star sports athlete, he embarked on a career as a farmer, cultivating the land with passion and commitment. His deep connection to nature and his tireless work ethic made him a well-known figure in the farming community. In addition to his work as a farmer, Philip had several notable careers throughout his life. In his younger years, he worked at General Butler and gained valuable experience. He also held positions at Hills Dairy and the Tobacco Warehouse, where his dedication to hard work and excellence earned him respect among his colleagues. Beyond his professional endeavors, Philip cherished the relationships he formed throughout his life. On March 25, 1989, he married the love of his life, Connie Colleen Burnette Ogburn. Their union was one filled with love and mutual support. Together they built a beautiful family and created countless memories that will be treasured forever. Philip's passion for agriculture extended beyond farming itself. He showed dairy cattle with pride and joy, demonstrating not only his expertise but also his deep connection to the animals under his care. Additionally, Philip was an active member of Warsaw Baptist Church where he found solace and community. While Philip's impact was felt far beyond the boundaries of any single endeavor or organization, some of his proudest accomplishments were found within his roles as a coach and mentor. He generously devoted time to coaching youth basketball and baseball programs where he instilled important values of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship in young athletes. Philip's caring nature extended beyond the realm of sports - he deeply valued the importance of friendship and kinship. His warm and genuine personality endeared him to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. To his wife, Connie, he was a pillar of strength and an unwavering source of love. His son, Dustin Ogburn, will forever carry memories of their cherished bond, while his step-children, Christopher Aaron Hughes and Derrick Shane Hughes, will remember him as a loving stepfather who brought joy into their lives. Born on September 25, 1945, in Laurel County, Kentucky, Georgia was the daughter of the late Luther Garland and Virgie Owens Garland. Georgia was a graduate of Bush High School in London, Kentucky. Throughout her life, she had a diverse career. She was the proud owner of GMB Communications Cell Phone Towers and had also worked for Wal-Mart in Carrollton, KY, where she contributed her skills to various departments. Beyond her professional life, Georgia was known for her many interests and hobbies. She truly enjoyed watching University Kentucky Basketball and cherished spending quality time with family and friends while playing cards, particularly a game of "Rook. " These shared moments brought joy and laughter to all those lucky enough to be in her company. One of Georgia's proudest accomplishments was marrying her devoted husband Floyd Virgil Bowling on July 3, 1967. Their loving partnership stood as an inspiring example to all who knew them. Georgia will be deeply missed by those who were closest to her. She is survived by her husband Floyd Virgil Bowling of Carrollton, KY, along with four nephews whom she adored. Georgia was predeceased by her son Floyd Edward Bowling. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Julia Garland Collier and Beulah Garland Miller. These experiences equipped him with the expertise to thrive in his career as a real estate appraiser. In addition to his professional pursuits, Christopher enjoyed various hobbies and interests. He found solace and tranquility while fishing and embraced the competitive spirit as he played pool. These activities allowed him precious moments of relaxation and camaraderie with loved ones. Debra had a fulfilling career as a hairdresser in the Carrollton Community for many years. She had also worked as a security officer at North American Stainless in Ghent, KY. Outside of her career, Debra had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her immense joy. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and tending to all types of flowers. The sight of hummingbirds fluttering around brought a smile to her face. She also had an affinity for animals of all kinds and cherished their presence in her life. Debra had attended Carrollton Christian Church. She is survived by her devoted husband, James E. Yocum of Carrollton, KY. Debra also leaves behind a daughter, Jessica Howard, and a son, Chase Howard, both residing in Carrollton, KY. In addition to her immediate family members, Debra is survived by her stepson Josh E. Graduating from Carroll County High School in 1970, Sandy embarked on a successful career that spanned several decades. He retired from Kentucky Utilities Ghent Generating Station in Ghent, KY after many years of service. Additionally, Sandy was the proud owner of Boswell Construction Company and played an instrumental role in building numerous homes for others. Even after retirement, he continued to stay busy by engaging in construction work as it brought him immense joy. Sandy's passion extended beyond his professional life. He had an ardent love for University of Kentucky Basketball and was an avid fan. Watching games and cheering for his favorite team brought him great excitement. He was baptized and raised in the Carrollton Christian Church and married the love of his life in the Ghent Baptist Church Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly five decades, Karen O'Neal Boswell, whom he married on December 14, 1974. The bond they shared exemplified the true meaning of partnership and enduring love. He will be deeply missed by his three daughters: Ashley (Joe) McClure of Villa Hills, KY; Brooke Boswell of Carrollton, KY; and Breeanna (Justin) Furnish of Carrollton, KY.
