Richard Joseph Shepler, Jr, 84, of Muskogee, OK, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. He was born on January 26, 1939 in Oroville, CA, the son of Richard Joseph Shepler, Sr. and Mary Belle Gilfillan (Ridge). Richard was a true family man who devoted his life to serving the Lord, wearing many hats as a Deacon, Music Minister, and Sunday School Teacher. His punctuality was unmatched, reflecting his faithfulness to his commitments. Richard was a big OU Sooners sports fan. He found joy in woodworking and was a jack of all trades. Richard's thirst for knowledge was evident in his love for reading and his eagerness to learn new things. Richard enjoyed peanut butter and jelly on crackers, nightly hot cocoa, and a refreshing lemonade while watching his favorite western TV Shows. Richard approached life with an ornery sense of humor, along with a hardworking and generous spirit. Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Shepler (Burt); children: Richard Shepler III, Brendelee Marshall, and Vickie Veach and husband Ron; grandchildren: Mikaela Marshall and Nickolas Marshall; siblings: Marylou Berryhill and husband Kenneth, Donna Stover, Virginia Sloan and husband Bill, and Robert Gilfillan; and several nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death his parents Richard Joseph Shepler, Sr. and Mary Belle Gilfillan (Ridge); and his brother Bruce Gilfillan. Viewing will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, December 1, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 220 South R Street in Muskogee, OK, with Ron Veach officiating. Pallbearers for the service are Richard Shepler, III, Ron Veach, Nickolas Marshall, and Robert Gilfillan. Richard will be laid to rest in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery after a private committal ceremony. Services under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.Show more

Jack is survived by his wife Lavon Raylene Yochum (Robertson); children: Sean Sly and wife Heather, Ronnie Sly and wife Krystal, Joe Tranthem, Ashley Peeke and husband Steven, Athena Plum and husband Lance; stepfather: Charlie Thomas; siblings: Marvin Yochum and wife Sherry, Jimmie Yochum and wife Jackie, Elaine Graham, Jerry Graham, Dennis Graham, Mandy Deitelelhoff and husband Mel, Chris Wilson and husband Andy, Shannon Scott and husband David, Damian Thomas and wife Shelena, Stephen Thomas and wife Tish, Josh Thomas and wife Rachal; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his father Jack "Blackie" Yochum, stepmother Pearl Yochum, mother Betty Thomas, step-father Ellis Thomas and daughter Savannah Yochum. Thomas Elzie Lewis, born on December 19th, 1951, in Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday morning, November 19th, 2023, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a man of faith and hard work, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Thomas began his adult journey in the oil field, displaying an unmatched work ethic that propelled him to become the proprietor of multiple successful oil-related enterprises. His commitment and resilience were testaments to his character, demonstrating the epitome of determination and perseverance. He was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart, Pamela, a love that endured despite life's turns. Though their paths diverged, the depth of their affection remained unmatched. Thomas's love for his family knew no bounds. A proud United States Marine, Thomas exemplified valor and patriotism, embodying the core principles of service and honor. Thomas Lewis was a man of diverse passions--fishing, hunting, and the exhilaration of speed thrilled his spirit. His love for cars led him to the world of racing, where his adventurous spirit found a home. He cherished these moments of thrill and adventure, finding solace and joy in the pursuit of these passions. He will be dearly missed by his son Jeremy Chad Lewis daughter-in-law Leticia Lewis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and granddaughter Faith Ann Lewis, of Fayetteville, Arkansas. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Lella May Loeffelholz. A private family memorial service in honor of Thomas Elzie Lewis will be held in Duncan, Oklahoma. The specifics of the service will be communicated at a later date.
