Jerry Carson Wilmot passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022 at his home in Klein, Texas. Jerry loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He sought to become more Christ-like throughout his life, encourage others in their relationship with Christ and live graciously and generously. He was born on January 23, 1938 on his grandmother's farm near Rosston, Oklahoma to H. G. "Jake" Wilmot and Genevieve Wilson Wilmot. Jerry, and his older brother Jim, moved with their parents throughout the southern and midwestern states during their childhood. Jerry attended Rice University and earned a Bachelor of Arts. Jerry met the love of his life, Georgiann English O'Neill, while at Rice. They were married in Houston and moved to the east coast where Jerry began his business career and earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and his MBA from University of Virginia. Their family grew over the first 6 years of marriage to include 3 daughters and 1 son. The family returned to Houston in 1973 where Jerry joined the planning group of Zapata Corp. They moved to Maine in 1979 for Jerry's work, and then back to Houston in 1981 where he worked for Zapata until 1987. Jerry returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Houston Downtown and worked as a computer programmer for Duke Energy until his retirement in the late 1990's. His parents' families both had farms near Rosston, OK and he enjoyed 15+ years during his retirement supervising those operations. Jerry and Georgiann were married 59 years and have 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. They enjoyed taking many wonderful family trips with their grown children and families. Jerry was an active member and elder at New Life Christian Reformed Church. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Georgiann, his parents Jake and Genevieve Wilmot, his brother Jim Wilmot, and his granddaughter Lindsay Tanakaya. Surviving family members include his daughters Laura Pate and husband Mike of Klein, TX; Beth Tanakaya and husband Russ of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Lynn Roach and husband John of Bryan, TX and son, Scott Wilmot and wife Jodi of College Station, TX. His surviving grandchildren include six boys, Steven Pate and wife Carla and daughter Eva, Chris Tanakaya and wife Veronica and son Elijah, David Roach and wife Sydney, James Roach and wife Maci and son Carson and a 2nd son expected in October, Kyle Roach and wife Maegen and son Royce, and Matthew Roach, and five girls, Julie Pate, Melissa Wilmot, Samantha Wilmot, Rebecca Wilmot and Jessica Wilmot.
