Age - 72

After a long, hard struggle with Parkinson's disease and multiple myeloma, Terry Armstrong, 72, is finally whole and healthy once again. Jesus called him home on December 4th, 2023. Terry was born to Joseph and Mary Evelyn Armstrong on October 11th, 1951, in Indianapolis. He was a 1969 graduate of Pendleton High School. He retired from the City of Anderson Traffic Engineering/ Street Department. Many of the signs marking Anderson's streets today were created by Terry. Terry had several passions in life. He loved all kinds of music and kept a substantial collection of many artists. He was a NASCAR enthusiast, attending every Brickyard 400 from its inception until his health no longer enabled him to do so. A true Colts and Green Bay Packers fan, every Sunday afternoon was spent glued to the tube during football season; a simple pleasure. He was a long-time member of the East Central Indiana APA, serving as Captain of his pool team for many years. Terry played pool until the very end. Thank-you Kroakerheads! One of his greatest joys was the freedom he felt while riding his Harley-Davidson. A trip out west to Devil's Tower was a treasured memory after retirement. Even as his Parkinson's disease was taking its toll, he still gave it all he had to savor that trip. It was sad when the realization came that he could no longer ride. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He was a wonderful father and "Pappy," always involved in their activities. Terry was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Anderson, where he faithfully served in many positions. Well done, good and faithful servant! Terry is survived by his wife, Tresa Carpenter-Armstrong; children: Melanie (Chris) Woolard, Uriah (Jen) Armstrong, Crystal (Drew) Hall, and Levon (Tabitha) Armstrong. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two bonus grandchildren and their families; sister, Charlene Sparrow, and brother, Kyle (Marty) Armstrong. He is also survived by several extended family members. A service honoring Terry's life will be held on Saturday, December 16th, at Christ Lutheran Church in Anderson, 2751 North Scatterfield Road. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, with the service beginning at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christ Lutheran Church in his name, in an effort to help repair the stained glass window. A Celebration of Life will continue, beginning at 5:30 p. m. , at Kroakerheads, 13th & Meridian St. , downtown Anderson. Please consider a donation in Terry's honor to Turn Away No Longer, which assists with the needs of foster children. Ride or Die…Show more
