A funeral service for Jerry G. Orr, 72, will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at First Christian Church, 95 19th Street, Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in the Wheatland Cemetery. Immediately following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the First Christian Church. A viewing will be held from 5:00 P. M. - 7:00 P. M. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel in Wheatland. Heaven gained another angel on Friday, September 8, 2023. Jerry G. Orr passed away at Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming. Jerry was born on Friday, June 29, 1951 to Bryce G. Orr and Louise (Wedemeyer) Orr in Wheatland, Wyoming. He attended school in Wheatland from kindergarten through high school and was a graduate of the class of 1969. He attended the University of Wyoming for a brief time. Jerry married Beverly Steeley on June 13, 1971 and to this union Carrie was born, they later divorced. Jerry met Ellie at the Wheatland softball field in 1982 and later coached the softball team she played on (as he would say she's a North Dakota transplant). Jerry and Ellie were married July 27th, 1991 in Wheatland, Wyoming and resided here till his passing. Jerry was involved in many jobs and organizations from working for the Wyoming Department of Transportation, running a local hardware store, to owning a Daylight Donut Shop. He would always say, "GOTTA MAKE THE DONUTS. " He was also the Platte County Clerk for 12 years and worked for various insurance companies for 40 years. He was a Wheatland Volunteer Fireman and he belonged to the Wheatland Jaycees, Wheatland Masonic Lodge #16, Chugwater Masonic Lodge #23, and Cheyenne Consistory and York Rite. He held various offices with the Grand Lodge of Wyoming. He was very honored to be a board member for the Platte County Hospital District. Jerry was involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for 15 years, supporting Ellie as a cancer survivor and later being affected by the terrible disease himself. Jerry enjoyed going to car shows and taking his yellow 1957 Chevy. He still has a 1937 Ford Street Rod yet to be finished. Ellie told him she will get it done for him. Jerry loved being a dad to Carrie and later a father-in-law to Bob. He loved driving to Idaho to see her preform on the Drill Team during high school, picking her up and driving her back to Wheatland in the summers, and traveling to Spokane when she moved there. He enjoyed being a grandpa to Bryce and Hunter. They were his pride and joy. He loved being a papa and going to school functions, birthdays and monster truck races with them. On August 28, 2014 Jerry had a double lung transplant due to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. By having this he was able to see Bryce and Hunter graduate from high school and go on to be great plumbers. He was able to go to Alaska and the Oregon coast with the boys for their graduations and he was able to see them marry Sam and Aury. Everyday Jerry was thankful for the amazing gift that his unknown donor gave him "The Gift of Life. " Jerry always promoted being an Organ Donor. Jerry is survived by his wife, Ellie of Wheatland; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Bob Harmon of Spokane, Washington; two grandsons, Bryce (Sam) Harmon and Hunter (Aury) Harmon both of Spokane, Washington; siblings, Butch and Sue Orr and JoAnn (Orr) and Bill Maxwell; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and a very special cousin, Robert (Jill) Orr who was more than a cousin to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryce G. and Louise (Wedemeyer) Orr and both sets of grandparents. Jerry liked to visit and never met a stranger. People would ask him if he lived in Wheatland all his life and he would tell them NOT YET, well he has now lived in Wheatland all his LIFE. The family would like to thank Platte County Legacy Home for the wonderful care given to Jerry during his stay. Memorials will be made in Jerry's honor to the American Cancer Society Organ Donation Awareness. An account has been set up at First State Bank in Wheatland. Thomas Gast

Thomas "Tom" Gast, 76, a respected figure in the mining industry and a cherished member of the Wheatland community, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Wheatland, Wyoming. Tom was born on Tuesday, April 22, 1947, to Herbert and Ruth Gast in Chicago, Illinois. His little sister joined the family a few years later. Tom graduated from Main West High School in the class of 1965. He was a member of the swim team all four years of high school, his specialty stroke was the butterfly, and had two state records that held for many years. Tom went onto continue his education graduating from Northern Illinois University with a degree in business. Tom dedicated his life to the mining industry, showcasing an unwavering commitment and expertise that earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was known for his profound love for Newfoundland dogs, his infectious laughter, and his exceptional storytelling abilities. His stories, often filled with humor and wisdom, will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Tom is survived by his loving daughters, Jaime Wingard (49), of Wheatland and Nicole Gast (52), from Rapid City, South Dakota. He leaves behind his sister, Cindy Chrisos, of Woodstock, Illinois and his loving companion of seven years, Betty Sinnard. Tom was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife, Sheila Gast; mother; father; several friends; and an exuberant amount of wagging tails from the many dogs he cherished and cared for. His life was a testament to the joy of family connections and the value of hard work. Tom's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his stories will continue to inspire laughter and joy. Marion Lambert

Marion Thomas "MT" Lambert, 86, of Wheatland, Wyoming passed away on Friday, October 20,2023 at his home in Wheatland surrounded by family. MT was born In Missouri on Tuesday, January 12, 1937, to Pete and Rhoda (Snook) Lambert. The family moved west and settled in Wheatland. MT served in the United States Navy, then married Donna M. Holkan in 1961. The couple raised three children, Don, Brenda, and Kelly. MT was a carpenter, volunteer fireman, auto body repair man, mechanic, and ditch rider. He loved working on small engines and enjoyed woodworking and could repair almost any household appliance. Welding metal and fabrication were also rewarding to MT. He retired from the Wheatland Irrigation District in 2002. MT loved his family, camping, hunting, joking, laughing, and country music. He spent lots of weekends listening to friends play music while drinking a beer. MT also enjoyed driving around in the mountains, looking at the wildlife and beautiful scenery. MT is survived by his wife, Donna of 63 years; three children Don, Brenda, and Kelly along with their spouses; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Albert Lambert; and sister, Elsie Keith along with their spouses. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Alice Haynes. MT will be missed by family and many friends. Ronald Bristow

Age - 85

Ronald "Ron or Ronnie" Eugene Bristow, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming at the age of 85. Graveside services will be Friday, November 24, 2023 at 4:00 P. M. at Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey, Wyoming with a meal and gathering to follow at the Lake Guernsey VFW Post 4471. Ron was born on Sunday, July 10, 1938 in Palisade, Nebraska to Ed and Wauneta (Monroe) Bristow. He grew up in Montana before moving to Guernsey, and graduating as a Guernsey Longhorn. There he met his wife Sue and they married in Hartville, Wyoming on February 12, 1961, traveling to Montana for their honeymoon. Together, they raised three children in Guernsey. Many weekends were spent camping, boating, fishing, and gathering with his parents, his kids and their families and good family friends. Great times were had and many memories were made. Ron also enjoyed wood-working, hunting, and traveling. His family and friends remember the many jokes and one-liners he told, he was also quite the prankster, and was so much fun to be around. In their later years Ron and Sue traveled to Yuma, Arizona to spend winters in the sun, where they made many new friends who they stayed in touch with throughout the years. Ron served as a supply clerk for the Army National Guard for 43 years, beginning in February, 1956. He retired as a 1st Sergeant E8 in 1998, after receiving many military medals. Ron was very active in the community and served as part of the Mason's (Past Master Lodge #49), Guernsey Lions Club (Past President), Guernsey-Sunrise School Board, Board of the Guernsey Community Credit Union, and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, serving as an EMT and driver. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Wauneta (Monroe) Bristow; his in-laws, Donald and Rita Troudt; and his brothers-in-law, Frank and Gary Troudt. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Rita Susan (Troudt) Bristow; children, Kristi (Joe) Stewart of Casper, Wyoming, Cory (Lisa) Bristow of Guernsey, and Kip (Kerin) Bristow of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Matt (Bridget) and Michael (Brittany) Stewart, Nikki, Nathan (Sarah), and Nigel (Kaitlyn) Bristow and Colton and Cassie (Tyler) Bristow; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Leann) Bristow; and brother-in-law, John (Robyn) Troudt; and sister-in-law, Anita Troudt; and nieces, nephews ,and dear cousins. ~We will miss you forever. Joan Stugart

Age - 86

During a spectacular fall, on a tranquil, colorful day, our mom gained her freedom from the pain she suffered for so many years. Her Lord and Savior released her mortal bonds and escorted her to her heavenly home. Joan peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, surrounded by loving family members and caring staff at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming, following a long battle with dementia, arthritis, and more recently cancer. Joan Luella (Cook) Stugart was born on Friday, May 28, 1937 at the Wheatland Hospital. She was the first-born child of Donald J. and Eileen (Bowen) Cook who at the time, lived north of Chugwater, Wyoming along Chug Creek on the TY Ranch for Swan Land & Cattle Company. As a young child, she chose to spend her time outside. She especially loved horses and was regularly found riding her favorite horse, Black Beauty, wherever the open pastures allowed. Growing up, she became her father's constant companion, always at his side, gathering cattle or putting up hay in the meadows; doing whatever she could do to help in her way. Later in life, Joan would pass her love, respect and appreciation for animals on to her own children. Joan's parents had a second daughter, Donna Eileen, and the family left Chugwater and moved closer to Wheatland, desiring their own land where the family would farm and ranch. On March 6, 1953, Joan married the love of her life, Raymond Neil Stugart, whose family neighbored the Cook family on the flats south-west of town. Neil obtained a job with Mountain Bell Telephone, and together over the next 5+ years, they spent moving up, down and across Wyoming for Ma Bell. In the mid 1950's they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. There Neil worked as a Mountain Bell lineman & installer and Joan took on a position as a phone operator during the evenings. She said that her most frequent call was from her own young son calling the operators to find out when his "mommy" was coming home. In the late 1950's the company transferred the family to Neil and Joan's hometown of Wheatland, where they completed their family. Joan was a devoted wife and loving mother. Everyone was welcome in the home and she treated each child who entered just like her own. Regardless of the number of children showing up, treats or meals, as well as hugs, were always available, much to everyone's delight! Joan's favorite job in her life had to be that of a school bus driver. It was a natural fit based upon her love of children. Dozens of letters would proclaim their love of her as being their favorite bus driver, year after year. As these children grew into adults it was so heartwarming for Joan to have her "bus kids" come up to greet her exclaiming their fond memories of her being their driver! Even as the effects of dementia began to creep into her life, she always seemed to remember each person and where they lived on the route, sometimes adding her own stories of warm times or ornery events. Joan proudly drove a school bus for 29 years, finally having to retire only due to the adverse effects of arthritis. In her years of retirement, she shared in a love of Shar Pei dogs, antique cars, grand and great grand kids with her husband, Neil. Joan's passion was to go shopping and could spend an entire day, with a friend or alone, wandering through every open shop with repeated stops at Simply Creative and Wheatland Country Store. As her arthritis caused more pain, she created deep friendships with wonderful people, especially Ginger and Bev who came to her aid helping at the farmhouse. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Donald Cook on December 14, 1996; mother, Eileen Cook on April 26, 1981; grandparents, John and Ruby Cook and L. L. Roy and Luella Bowen; husband of nearly 60 years, Raymond Neil on May 9, 2013; and grandson, Nicholas Neil Stugart on June 16, 1980. She is survived by her son, Ron (Barbara) of Wheatland; daughter, Pegge Stutzman and fiance Jeff Carbullido of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Susie (Lonnie) Wann of Yankton, South Dakota; six grandchildren, Jamie Stutzman Bennett, Brandon Stutzman, Casidy Siedschlag Potts, Michelle Stugart Merrick, Clay and Cody Teel; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Father Hiep Nguyen as the Celebrant. John Carberry

Age - 67

John Carberry, 67, of Wheatland, Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland. John was born in Wheatland to his late parents, Don and Olive "Dolly" (Baker) Carberry on Friday, May 18, 1956. John was an incredibly hard worker, known for his dedication and perseverance, often setting out before sunrise to provide for his family. Throughout his life, John held various titles including concrete foreman, worksite superintendent, and business owner. However, these titles were always secondary to the ones he cherished most: husband, dad, uncle, grandpa and 'old fart. ' John had a strong passion for sports, particularly the Denver Broncos. However, his true affinity lay with Bulldog athletics. He spent countless hours traveling to and from sporting events for his children, cooking for the teams with the help of his wife, Jean, and even directed the remodel of the Wheatland High School weight room when his boys were in school. John will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Jean; sons, Matt and Mark; daughter-in-law, Anna; grandchildren, Griffen, Bastian, and Isla; and as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents, Don on June 1, 2001 and Dolly on October 7, 1965; brothers, Kenny Lipps on September 14, 2002 and Jack Lipps on January 29, 2022. A memorial service will be held to honor John's life and legacy at a later date. A graveside service for Earl T. "Tate" Graves, 95, will be held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming. Tate Graves passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland. Tate was born on Thursday, August 16, 1928 in Robertson County, Tennessee the son of Arthel Odell and Myrtle Lynn (Sneed) Graves. Tate spent most of his life in Wyoming. He voluntarily entered the United State Navy. After he was discharged, he came back to Wheatland and went to work for the standard gas station. He then went into farming from 1960 to 1974 in Wyoming and Colorado. In the 1980's he moved to Tennessee and did some real estate investing. Tate always found his way back to Wyoming moving here in the late 1990's. Tate was a major sports fanatic; he loved all sports and followed them all very closely. He was a Denver Nuggets, Broncos, and Rockies fan. He is survived by his children, Tim Graves, Tammy (Dan) Berg, Steve (Jillanie) Graves, Craig (Kim) Graves, and Heidi (Paul) Adams all of Wheatland; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Baker. He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Graves; siblings, Ben, Ray, Margie, and Dot. A memorial to the Earl T. Dennis Lauck

Dennis Eugene Lauck, 67, of Wheatland, Wyoming went home to his Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. A funeral service is on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:30 A. M. at First Christian Church in Wheatland, with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Internment will take place at the Wheatland Cemetery. The funeral will be live streamed at https://client. tribucast. com/tcid/216575240 Dennis Eugene Lauck was born in Wheatland on Tuesday, July 24, 1956 to Marvin Eugene and Geraldine (Havely) Lauck. He joined sister Debby and their sister Peggy arrived in 1959. The Lauck family lived a few miles west of town where they farmed and fed cattle. Dennis graduated from Wheatland High School in 1974 and continued on the family farm following in his grandpa, Louis Lauck's and father, Marvin's footsteps. Dennis married Kim Manning in 1976. The couple welcomed four children; Sunni, Tyler, Kristny, and Cooper whom they found life's greatest blessings. Dennis continued to farm and feed cattle as well as work for the Laramie River Power Station from 1984 to 2011. Dennis also served as a board member for the Wheatland Irrigation District. He married Kim (Walker) Johnson in 2012 and welcomed her family as his own. Dennis will be remembered as having a servant's heart, always thinking of others before himself. He will be remembered by his children as a fun, loving father who taught them the value of hard work and family. His grandchildren will remember his lighthearted teasing and that he always had a stash of Oreo cookies. Dennis is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Sunni (Jake) Linse of Gillette, Wyoming, Tyler (Liz) Lauck of Wheatland, Kristny (Jose) Martinez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Cooper Lauck of Cheyenne, Wyoming; stepchildren, Nichole Johnson, Jeremy (Cat) Porter, Nick Johnson, and Patricia Johnson, all of Wheatland; six grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and three great-step grandchildren; sisters, Debby (Ronnie) Becker and Peggy Bise, both of Wheatland; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Beryl Jenkins

Age - 89

Beryl Marie Jenkins, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming. She was born in a Montana cabin near Haxby on Sunday, December 3, 1933 to Estella Bessie and Ralph Peters. Her father was a boat taxi driver for the construction crews working on the Fort Peck Dam. As a young girl, her mother, Estella, remarried to Edwin G. DeLaney and they relocated to Paris, Missouri, where she attended grades school and graduated from high school. At age of 19, she married Joe Barnett and had two boys, Micheal and Steven. Later they were separated and divorced. She eventually remarried the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Jean Jenkins on September 4, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and they moved to Springfield, Oregon. Bob worked as an airplane body repairman and there they had their only daughter, Jana Michal. Soon thereafter they moved back to the Gordon, Nebraska area, and had a son born to them in Gordon, Keith Robert. Bob owned a hay grinder for winter months and Beryl kept books for the business. They later moved the business closer to the Alliance/Hemingford, Nebraska area. Beryl held the janitorial position at her children's grade school in Berea, Nebraska and eventually took a retailing job at L. B. Murphys in Alliance until they closed doors. Beryl would drive beet and corn trucks at harvest time. She worked 15 years at the Woolrich Inc, Factory Outlet as a Floor Girl in the manufacturing part of the store. Beryl was able to retire after Woolrich closed doors. She was always busy tending to her family and many friends. She was widowed in June of 2020 and later moved to Wheatland to live with her daughter. She was always in company of family. Beryl was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her four children, two grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Hardworking and dedicated, she lived her life without regrets and was highly regarded by all that knew her. She is survived by her children, Jana (Shaun) Werkele of Wheatland, Keith Jenkins of Hemingford, Michael Barnett of Bac Lieu, Vietnam, and Steven Barnett of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Kalen Willson of Gering, Nebraska and Jacey Willson of Cheyenne, Wyoming; great-granddaughter, Arya Shell Grieser of Alliance; brother, Edwin Arthur DeLaney of Paris Missouri.
