Jerry Lee Nash passed away on June 14, 2022, in Santa Maria, California at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Linda Giorgi Nash, his son Michael and his spouse Shalane Nash; his daughter Jennifer Cowan and her spouse Steffan Cowan; and 4 grandchildren. Jerry was born in Sweethome, Oregon to Pauline Croft and Frederick Lee Nash. He was one of six children. At a young age he moved around Oregon because his dad was a lumberjack. Jerry graduated from Mapleton High School in Mapleton, OR. He made many friends during high school, some of which he has spoken to for many years because of Facebook and video calling. In 1967, Jerry joined the army where he became a captain in the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Following his time in the army, he returned to the States and picked up cooking. To us he was always a chef. Jerry was an incredibly hard worker delivering Thomas English muffins and tortillas from 2 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, for several years. He retired in 2006. After work he volunteered as a boy scout leader and was active in the local Vietnam events. Jerry and Linda were married on August 8th, 1988. This date was selected so they would never forget their anniversary 8/8/88. A year and a 1/2 later, they gave birth to Michael before moving to Foxen Canyon, California to live on a cattle ranch with Linda's family. Eventually they moved to Orcutt, California, where they still reside. Jerry loved to go to the VA CBOC Clinic to have a cup of coffee and talk with his buddies. There were so many stories that can be told about Jerry. Many would make you laugh, and some would make you cry. We will be sharing some of those stories on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Cool Hand Luke's. Please join us in our storytelling where we will be having one last cup of coffee with him. Funeral services will be held at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at 10:00 am.
