Jerry David "Marduck" Morris, age 82, of Tellico Plains, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at home surrounded by family. He was a 1960 graduate of Tellico Plains High School and served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency after 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and hanging out with his friends at Shep's Garage. "Marduck" was known for his sense of humor, his knowledge of the Cherokee National Forest, and the ability to walk trails faster than anyone around. He will be dearly missed by many. Preceded in death by wife of 47 years, Linda Morris, parents, Roy and Pearl Sylvester Morris;Survivors, son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Kim Morris, granddaughters and spouse, Haley and Jack Kincaid, Hannah Morris, great-granddaughter, Anastasia Kincaid, sister, Loretta Tempchin, brother and sister-in-law, Don and Phyllis Morris, nieces and spouse, Lisa and Tom Spaid, Laura Beasley, nephews and spouses, Adam and Makayla Morris, Bill and Christene Beasley, special friends, Joseph and Heather Byers. The family would like to express sincere thanks & gratitude to Amedisys Hospice. Graveside Service & Interment 11:00 A. M. Friday, Hardshell Cemetery, Rev. Jon Faraone and Rev. Kenny Isbill officiating. Family will receive friends 4-7:00 P. M. Thursday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains.

Robert Eldredge Griswold, 68, of Tellico Plains, TN passed from death to eternal life,December 4, 2023 beside his beloved wife, family & close friends. He was an activemember of First Baptist Church in Tellico Plains; previous member of Cedar SpringsPresbyterian Church in Knoxville, where he served as a mentor / leader for the highschool youth group for many years. He loved building projects, ceramics, gardening, theoutdoors, his dogs, the gym, podcasting, reading and researching. Robert was born in Newport, RI where his father, a naval officer, was stationed atQuonset Point; later the family moved to Virginia Beach, VA at Little Creek NavalAmphibious Base where Robert grew up and through his young, adult life. Later hemoved to central east Florida where he met his wife, Roxanne. He earned his GeneralContractor's License and started a successful construction firm with his business partner,building exquisite homes and commercial projects like churches, offices, schools andcondominiums. Later, he sold his share of the partnership, and developed his ownconstruction corporation in 1987 building high-end, custom homes and large commercialprojects for many years. After years in the building industry, Robert, an entrepreneur atheart, established another successful company, Ready Made Resources, LLC in 1996specializing in night optics, outdoor gear, self-reliant and emergency supplies. It becameone of the southeasts largest in the nation. Robert also traveled the world abroad, gaininga wealth of knowledge and life experience that furthered his advancement. He loved hisfamily, his country, his God - a true patriot, and a man of strong character, integrity andhonor. For the past decade or more he has been podcasting and speaking about world events,preparation, security, patriotism and spiritual reformation, as well as producinginstructional videos for equipment use. He was an extremely gifted man, workingtirelessly with his hands creating everything from exquisite staircases in his earlier years,and later learned the luthier craft of building guitars with exotic woods and intricate pearlinlays, beautiful wall clocks, furniture, bowls, etc. He loved transforming his propertyinto another "Garden of Eden". Later his hands turned toward ceramics, crafting beautifulmasterpieces he sold but also generously gave to those he loved. He was often called a"Renaissance Man", and for good reason. He was known for his generosity, using histalents to bless others, and more importantly, His Creator. He brought glory and honor tohis Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all the days of his life. A loving husband, caring father,faithful brother and friend, a son that any parent would be proud of. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Roxanne Griswold, three sons,Nathan Griswold of Anchorage, AK, Shaun Griswold of Chattanooga, TN, JoshuaGriswold of Tellico Plains, TN; mother, Mabel Griswold of Virginia Beach, VA, brother,Richard Griswold of Charlottesville, VA, sister, Carol Forrester of Norfolk, VA, and 6grandchildren, Kira Griswold, Austin Griswold, Ethan Griswold, Hailey Griswold, HanaGriswold, Thomas Griswold, and 1 great granddaughter, Willow Jacques. Robert ispreceded in death by his father, Richard Griswold and sister Cheryl Griswold. Funeral 3:00 P. M. Monday, December 11, 2023, Biereley-Hale Chapel,Rev. Richard Parker officiating.
