Jerry Collison, 71, of Danville passed away at 3:45 AM on September 8, 2023 at OSF St Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. Jerry was born on April 9, 1952 the son of Forrest and Evelyn (Thatcher) Collison in Danville, IL. He married Shirley Roulanie on February 15, 1975 in Danville, IL and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2019. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Heather (Roy Priest) Kratzer of Danville, IL, three grandchildren, Jeffrey Kratzer of Council Grove, KS, Elizabeth Kratzer of Dwight, KS and Sadeina Priest of Danville, IL, as well as one sibling, Joe (Susie) Collison of Veedersburg, IN. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley Collison and one daughter, Sadeina Collison, his twin brother, Terry Collison and his sister Eunice Sands. Jerry attended the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene and the Veedersburg Church of God. He retired from PepsiCo after 45 years of service and most recently worked at the Noodle Factory in Georgetown, IL. Jerry loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. He was a family man that worked hard, stayed busy, and made sure his family was always taken care of. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Donna Rae Batchelor, 72, of Williamsport, IN, formerly of Danville, IL, passed away on November 25, 2023 at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Williamsport, IN. Donna was born on June 18, 1951 the daughter of Ray Erving and Julia Edith (Hubbard) Nickles in Terra Haute, IN. She married William "Bill" Batchelor on June 19, 1970 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2007. Survivors include her children, Jedediah Ray Batchelor of Danville, IL and Amy (Darin) Nichols of Ridge Farm, IL, grandchildren, Julie Delay of Danville, IL and Alicia Batchelor of Chicago, IL, siblings, Beverly Kerst, Loretta Bryant, Kathy Price, and Connie Sillery, as well as several nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William "Bill" Batchelor, three brothers, William, James and Robert Landis, sister, Sharon Nickles and one grandson, Dameon Ray Harris. Donna enjoyed spending her free time listening to music, and loved listening to Elvis. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, going out for ice cream, taking walks, and watching the WWE with her favorite professional wrestler being "The Undertaker". Joy Palmer, 97, of Normal, IL formerly of Danville, IL passed away at 5:05 AM on November 17, 2023 at her daughter's home in Normal, IL. Ida Joy Palmer was born on November 2, 1926 the daughter of David L. and Sadie (Larson) Anderson in Danville, IL. She married Mayor David S. Palmer on December 21, 1947 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1985. Survivors include her children, Jan (Darryl) Coffman of Normal, IL, Jeff (Lynn) Palmer and Greg (Maridale) Palmer of Danville, IL, and Robert Palmer of Ft Myers, FL, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. Joy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mayor David S. Palmer, son Curt Palmer, granddaughter Kristine, and brother, David Anderson, Jr. Joy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, IL and later attended her grandson's church, Lexington Community Church in Lexington, IL. She was a Christian School Teacher for over 20 years and enjoyed spending her free time playing Scrabble, Dominos, working word search and crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, listening to church hymns and spending time with her family and friends. Robert James Muirhead, 88, of Danville, IL passed away at 3:10 AM on November 14, 2023 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL where he was a patient for a few days. Robert was born on March 12, 1935 the son of William and Gertrude (Bonebrake) Muirhead in Danville, IL. He married Barbara Lucas on November 22, 1959 in Sidell, IL and she survives. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Muirhead of Danville, sons, Jonathan (Barbara) Muirhead of Atlanta, GA, and Matthew (Melissa) Muirhead of Danville, IL, and his three grandsons, Trevor, Tyler and Grant Muirhead. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Muirhead. Robert graduated from Danville High School, attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Millikin University. He owned and operated Holmes Brothers, Inc in Danville for many years until his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, working on projects around home and in the yard, and traveling. In his younger days he played tennis every morning and also enjoyed snow skiing. Robert was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for the Illini, the Bears and the Dodgers. Robert was a member of St James United Methodist Church since childhood and a member of the Danville Country Club. He was very civic minded and involved in his community serving on a variety of Boards and organizations. Robert was active with the Danville Noon Rotary, a 32nd Degree Mason for 65 years, a member of the Elks Club, and served on the Board of Spring Hill Cemetery, 1st National Bank, the Salvation Army Men's Board, Vermilion Advantage, and the Lakeview Hospital Board. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at St James United Methodist Church, 504 N Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois 61832. Rev. Dr. Don Jackson will officiate. Entombment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Gregory Alan Hicks, 61, of St. Joseph, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 5 at Carle Hospital. He was born in Champaign, Illinois on March 29, 1962 to Robert and Wilma Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Debbie (Morgan) Hicks of St. Joseph, his two sons, Dakota Hicks (Kelsey) of Ogden, and Austin Hicks of Sidney, and three grandsons: Dallas, Tanner, and Houston. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Debbie Burch (Todd) of St. Joseph, and Teresa Hicks of Tennessee, as well as six nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Tyler, Taylor, Lacey (Cameron), Laramy (Bradley), and Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Wilma Hicks of St. Joseph, and brother-in-law Jeff Morgan of Thomasboro. Greg lived all of his life in St. Joseph, and he was a tri-sport athlete in high school. After high school he began his more than 40 year career at Kraft. At the age of 27 he married the love of his life and they went on to have two boys. When he wasn't rooting on the Cubs or the Tar Heels, Greg stayed busy with one of his many pastimes. He loved being part of both a bowling league and softball team. He also spent many hours on the golf course and in his tree stand. More than anything, Greg loved his family. He was active throughout his sons' lives and never missed one of their sporting events; even into adulthood he maintained a close relationship with both of them. His three grandsons were the joy of his life and he took great pride in them. He loved watching them play sports and run around in the yard, and was always eager to hold his newest grandson. Greg will be remembered for his orneriness and his sense of humor. He left his family and friends with an abundance of wonderful memories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Brenda Sue (Woodard) Gee, 74 years of age from Danville, IL went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL. Brenda was born July 23, 1949 in Danville, she was the daughter of Justine (McDougal) Woodard and William Woodard Sr. Her father remarried and she was raised by her stepmother, Margie (Fontleroy) Woodard. Brenda married James Gee Sr. and of this union were born 2 children: Mansuur Bey (Aaron Paul Gee) from Miami FL and James Gee Jr. from Houston TX, and has 5 grandchildren: Isham Smith, Kati Lappin, JecalGee, Michael Reid, and Jalen Gee. She leaves behind two brothers, William Woodard Jr of Los Angeles, CA and Terry David Woodard of Laurel Maryland. Many relatives and friends will miss her dearly and her apple and peach pies. She was proceeded in death by her mother, father, stepmother, and grandparents. Brenda graduated from Danville High School in 1967 and she graduated from Danville Area Community College with an associate degree. She was also employed at Tee Pak Inc for 42 years as a machine operator in the shirring and process department, then as a lab technician. She was the Patient Advocate for Danville Dialysis, a special thanks to Dr. Brijnandan Sodhi and Dr. Karen Broaders. A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday November 17, 2023 at New Life Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave. , Danville. Eulogist: Pastor Dr. Donald Biggs.
