Jerald Douglas Crisp (Doug), passed away peacefully at home September 29, 2023, at the age of 75 in Cherokee, North Carolina. He was born on October 14, 1947, in Sylva, North Carolina. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Wayne Patton and Daisy Christene Crisp and his sister, Virginia Lorene Crisp Martin. Doug was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Watson Crisp, and their daughters, Vicki Crisp Bradam, husband Dan Bradam and Christianne Aaron Evans, husband Keith Evans. Doug leaves behind his grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Morgan and Danielle Flynn, Joshua Sullens, Christopher Ezell, Katelynn and Neil Smith, Dakota wife Angelica, Zachary and Levi Evans, Great Grandchildren Maverick, Ryleigh and Paisley. He was a loving brother to Ray W. Crisp and a cherished uncle to multiple nieces and nephews. Doug was a true renaissance man with a wide range of interests and hobbies. He loved all things Western and was a true cowboy at heart born 100 years too late! He was a team roper, mule skinner, loved going on wagon trains, rode the Grand Canyon, an avid reader especially his Louis L'Amour collection. Doug worked for Capes Properties and was a talented jack of all trades. Doug also built the home in Whitter that he retired to. Friends and family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life honoring Doug, which will be October 21st, 2023 at the Newborn Schoolhouse, 4326 Highway 142 in Newborn, Georgia. Visitation begins at 2PM, Services at 3PM with Pastor Craig Cribb, Euology by Steve Hathorn, A Celebration Gathering will be held after at 4PM in the School Dining Room. Flowers can only be delivered Saturday morning, October 21st or in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the American Cancer Society in Atlanta. Doug will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Hattie Pauline (Goodeagle) Gibson also known as Judy, age 80, of Cherokee, NC, passed away on October 28, at Tsali Care Center. She is survived by her Children, Lisa Renee Toineeta (the late Sam Thompson), Tawny Mahsetky and James Marvin Suneagle. 10 Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren. Brother, Ronald Charles Goodeagle, Sr. and Sister, Linda Sue Goodeagle-Reed. Three Special Grandchildren that she helped raise, Ashley, Amber (Doug) and Arron (Amanda) Keel. She had many special friends, Rick Bird, Monsenjour Johnson, Bottchenbaugh Family, Sharon Parton, Kip Monoessy, Daniel Tramper and Family, and Katrina Bigmountain. There were so many other people she admired in her life. Judy loved her kids and Family so much. Judy is preceded in death by her Parents, Merton Kenneth Goodeagle Sr. and Lenora (Jake) Goodeagle. Brothers, Merton Kenneth Goodeagle Jr. and Ronnie Goodeagle Sr. Judy was a famous trick rider at rodeos in Oklahoma. She loved all her children and Grandchildren very much and always carried them in her heart. She loved cutting hair and even had her own salon in Pawnee, OK. When meeting her last companion, Ron, she began hitting the pow-wow trail and started to get well known around the pow-wow world, she loved to dance and became a Champion Tradition Dancer, she also loved to sing with Good Heart Drum. Growing up, Judy loved to ride horses and trick ride, she had many different hobbies. Judy will be taken back to Oklahoma for services. Pallbearers will be Go-Go Thomas Goodeagle, Kenneth Paul Goodeagle, Arron Keel, Manolito Mahsetky, Ron Charles Sunnie Goodeagle and other Goodeagle Family members. William Arthur (Bill) Moles Hartsville, S. C. William Authur (Bill) Moles 87 years old passed away on October 10, 2023 at the home of his daughter with his family by his side. Born on January 23,1936 in Cherokee, NC to Kyle and Vera Bradley Moles. He was a graduate of Brigham Young University and a U. S. Army Veteran. Bill moved to Hartsville SC to work for Sonoco and retired in 1998. Left to cherish his memory is his Daughter Delayne Moles Clark (Glenn); his grandson Bradley King (Liz); his granddaughter Laura King (Logan); the apple of his eye his great grandson LJ; his brother Denny Moles along with two sisters Janice Sutton and Maxine Bumgarner and special Niece Pamela Marks, also numerous Nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his son William Michael Moles and the mother of his children Barbara White along with two sisters, Dorothy Cowling and Carolyn Moles. The family would like to give special thanks for the great care of Bill from the staff of Pruitt Health Care and a special thank you to Samantha Brown, Mary McElveen and Christine Poston. A visitation will be held Friday October 13 at Norton Funeral Home in Hartsville from 5 - 7 pm. The family will receive friends and family Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 5. 00PM TO 7. 00PM in the chapel of Long House Funeral Home in Cherokee NC. A formal funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 18, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cherokee NC with burial to follow in the Bradley family cemetery. Jennifer Standingdeer, passed away unexpectedly on October 9th, 2023 in Prisma Hospital. She was only 51 years old. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death. Jennifer was born on August 8, 1972. "Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. " Jennifer is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dean Standingdeer their children Charleigh Clara Grace Standingdeer and Riley Paige Standingdeer. Forever remembered by her brother Jamie Hornbuckle (Holly), aunts Jenean Hornbuckle (Bob White), Beth Hornbuckle Farris (Jim), Barbara Stout (Jerry), Uncle John David and many nieces and nephews. Jennifer is also loved and remembered by her special sisters Keahana "Kitten" Lambert, Mary Beth Howard and Molly Howard Brown and special uncle and aunt Pastor Brown and his wife Peach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Jennifer was greeted in heaven by her parents Jim and Suzanne Hornbuckle, grandmothers Ruby and Momma Sue. Jennifer's Christian faith was an essential part of her life. Jennifer was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others She spent a great deal of time in prayer for all who asked or if she saw a need. She was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. Her biggest passion was being a mother to her daughters Charleigh and Riley. One of her favorite places was the ocean. More specifically, Myrtle Beach. This has been one of her favorite places since she was a young child. Jennifer grew up a proud, resilient Cherokee Woman in the Wolfetown Community. She served our tribe for 17 years as the Child Advocate at Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center. Her love for children, their safety and well-being were the driving force for her commitment to protect the innocents while fighting against child abuse and neglect. Her sweet soul gave hope and comfort to all. Jennifer was as a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She will be forever missed. De-Na-Da-Go-Hv-Yu Until we meet again.
