Marjorie "Margie" W. Johnson, 91, passed away at her home on Friday, December 1, 2023, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leonard Ray Johnson. She is survived by her children, Janet Johnson, Terry Johnson (Jenny), and Janie Strope (Tony); 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Margie is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Lincoln Church of Christ for many years. Margie was a caring friend to so many. Roberta Marie Polan, 89, of Huntsville, Alabama died at the Millenium Senior Assisted Living facility in Huntsville, Alabama of natural causes. Roberta was born in Hollis, Queens, New York on December 1, 1933 to Robert and Amelia McDougall. She attended The Mary Louis Academy, an all-girls private Catholic college preparatory academy, in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York. Upon graduation she was employed as a secretary in the Patents and Copyright Division of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in Manhattan, New York where she worked prior to the birth of her children. For the remainder of her life she was a devoted wife and mother. Her interests were mostly artistic. She was a China painting instructor and enjoyed sharing her talent with her students. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert McDougall and Amelia Grigo McDougall, sister Alice Beecher and husband Marvin Polan. She is survived by her son, Mark Herbert Polan Haucke (Viktoriia), and daughter, Noel Haucke Pitman, relatives from North Carolina (Eileen Kromm Corlett and Walter Kromm), New Jersey (Henry and Gail Polan), and their respective families. The visitation celebrating her life will be conducted at the Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama on Tuesday, December 5 at 3:00 and 4:00 p. m. , with a memorial service following at 4:00p. m.Show more

Mrs. Frances Mary Lewis Hutton, 89, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 in Huntsville, AL. She was born on August 2, 1934 to Bill and Pearl Lewis in Huntsville, AL She married James Howard Hutton, Sr. on May 2, 1952. Frances retired from Benchmark Electronics after 15 years of employment as an Electronics Assembler. She is survived by her sons, Victor James Hutton (Marie) of Huntsville, AL, James Howard Hutton, Jr. (Medina) of Ardmore, AL, Francis Charles Hutton (Janine) of Ardmore, AL; daughter-in-law, Angie Hutton of Madison, AL;15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Pearl Lewis; her husband, James Howard Hutton, Sr. ; siblings, Milton Lewis, Alice Lewis Haygood, Tomie Lewis, and Molly Lewis Sons and Juanita Lewis Raines; and son, William (Buster) Earl Hutton. Frances had 4 great loves in her life: her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her father, her husband and her babies. She was loved by many and affectionately called Mommy, Momma, Maw Maw, Granny, Nana, and Friend. She will be laid to rest at the Lewis Family Plot in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL. Terry Gautney

Terry Gautney, 69 passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Terry was born in Fayetteville, TN on April 15, 1954. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Brandon Gautney, Phillip Ryan Gautney; three granddaughters, Addyson Gautney, Elena Wescott, Kinleigh Gautney; one grandson, Ezra Gautney; two sisters, Diane Cook, Patsy Meadows. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Terry was an affectionate and loving father and granddaddy. He loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren, they were his whole heart. Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching old westerns. He also could be found grilling on the pit for family and friends. He was a carpenter and painter by trade. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, with Mike McFarland officiating. Harold A. Anderson "Andy1' passed away peacefully November 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 2, 1941 to Axel H. Anderson and Catherine M. Anderson. He is survived by his wife Louise of 59 years, his daughter Kristen Oldfield, Nathan Oldfield, granddaughter Oliva and grandson Otis all from Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by his nephews Scott Watson and his wife Rita from Virginia Beach. Nephew Dean Stenberg, of Cokato, MN and his niece Lauri Zumach and husband Darin from Buffalo, MN; sister- in-law SuzanneLaRocca of Dallas, TX and her daughters Daphane from Nederland, TX and Ashley from Dallas, TX. He was predeceased by his mother, father, and siblings Polly and Mary. Andy graduated from Cokato High School in 1959. After high school he received a fully paid athletic/academic scholarship to the University of MN. And Texas Lutheran University where he graduated in 1964. He received his Master's Degree from Southwest Texas University in 1968. He played and excelled in academics and in every sport he played. In high school he was in the National Honor Society and the MN All State Football squad. In college he was an All American in football. After college he was offered a contract with the Houston Oilers. He played with them for a short time and then played semi pro for 3 years with a team in Massachusetts and in San Antonio, TX. He coached for 25 years in TX and taught for 40 years. He felt the most important job he had in education was working his last 4 years of his career with special needs children. He loved football, playing it coaching it and watching it. The only thing he loved more was God and his family and lifelong friends. He didn't say much but he did say was, sincere. knowledgeable and witty. He was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and traveling, mostly to the lake or beach. He was always thinking of others welfare and a very generous tipper and donated to many non-profit organizations. He was a wonderful husband, son and father and will be forever missed by his loving family.Show more

Elder Davis

Elder Paul Lee Davis, 78, suddenly passed away at Huntsville Hospital on 28 November 2023. He was born on 22 December 1944 to Josephine Tyler in Emporia Virginia. Elder Davis graduated from High School and joined the United States Navy where he served proudly for over 20 years. During his tours he served in the Vietnam War, Multiple at Sea deployments and received 6th Good Conduct Award, National Defense Service Medal, Second Award Navy Unit Commendation Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 2 bronze stars. After completing his military service, he later went on to complete his PHD at the Share- A- Prayer and Word Theological school of Ministry in Whitewater, WI. He served the community as a Chaplin of the Salvation Army where he continued to make a difference in the lives of many. He was a devoted Husband, father, uncle, cousin, brother, grandfather and recent great grandfather. He had a love for the church and was very strong in his spiritual walk with GOD. If you didn't see him studying the word you could find him enjoying his other passion, GOLF. He is preceded in death by his mother: Josephine Tyler Stanton, His Brother Gregory Tyler and his beloved spouse - Patricia Elaine Davis. He is survived by his brothers - Gary Tyler and Allen Tyler and his spouse Sandra Tyler. Sisters - Velma Worrell and her spouse Tyrone Worrell and Tracy Tyler Children - Tonja Latrece Butler and her spouse William Ross Butler, Erica Nicole Hicks, Bettina Louise Washington Grandchildren: William Ross Butler II and his spouse Ohka Patel-Butler, Whitney Nicole Butler, Jasmine Latrice McKee and her spouse James Lee McKee, Savannah Louise Washington, Cheyenne Elaine Hicks, Jaevyon Reginald Hicks and Donovan Lee Washington Great Grandchild: Zachariah Lee McKee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. To some he was known as Elder Davis, but we know him as Pappi, POP POP, Daddy, Big Bro and friend. A memorial service will be announced later.
