Jennie Leigh Carter unexpectedly slipped away from us to join her heavenly family on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Jennie was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Michael and Candice Carter on September 4, 1978. She attended school in numerous places, including Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee. Jennie played flute in band and was a very talented artist, even at a young age. While still in middle school her artwork was placed at the Oklahoma State Capital for viewing and she received numerous awards for her drawings and paintings. Jennie loved rock music and could frequently be found wearing her favorite Metallica shirt. Jennie had a deep appreciation for American muscle cars. She attended Moore Norman Votech and received a certificate in Auto Collision Technology. She used her knowledge to rebuild her 1981 Camaro herself. Jennie was a kind and caring person to people and animals alike. She would have given the shirt off of her own back to anyone who asked for it. She helped to care for both of her grandmothers when they became ill. Jennie also won awards from the Bella Foundation for her help in rescuing and fostering unwanted animals. The truest joy in Jennie's life were her children, Krystalyn, Ashley, Tristan, and Ashtyn. She tried to be the very best version of herself she could be, just as any good mother does. Tristan passed away in infancy and we are sure both mother and son are rejoicing to once again be united. Jennie was preceded in death by both of her maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as her infant son and two uncles, both of Oklahoma City, Chuck Carter and Randy Gilbert. Jennie is survived by her children, Krystalyn Carter, Ashley Carter, and Ashtyn Carter; her mother and father, Michael and Candice Carter of Moore; aunt, Linda Hamrick of Midwest City; aunt Chyrole Lashbrook of Midwest City; sister, Angela Ketch of Moore; brother, Robert Carter of Norman; sister, Kristi Carter of Norman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Moore funeral and Cremation with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
