Linda Ann Campbell Revan, 71, of Landrum, passed away on December 7th 2023. She was the daughter of the late Curtis Oliver and Ruby Mae Parris Campbell and the wife of the late William Bobby Revan. Linda was raised in Christmas, Florida before relocating to the upstate as a young woman. Throughout her life Linda held many different professions, from working in Drayton Mill to owning R&R Carpets. In her final days, you could find her beautiful, smiling face in the deli at Ingles. Over the last 71 years, Linda made many friends that have become like family to her. To know her was to truly love her. She is survived by her sons, Lee Grant (Melissa) and Ryan Revan (April); her daughter, Kelly Morris (Lance); a step son, Robby Revan; a stepdaughter, Shirrel Burgess (Rembert); twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a special niece, Amy Seppala (Brian) and family. She was also survived by a best friend Darlene Talley, who was like a sister to her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Oliver Campbell and a sister, Janice Robinson. Linda was a member of Dependent Baptist Church. Her unwavering faith in the Lord provided her with solace in knowing exactly where she'd go when she took her final breath. It was Linda's desire that everyone she knew came to know her Jesus, so that they could spend eternity in heaven with her. Dixie Gosnell Jenkins, 79, of Landrum, passed away on November 30, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Edna Faye Gosnell and wife of Bobby "Warp" Jenkins. She was a member of Pacolet Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church Gowensville. She was a bookkeeper and accountant at Tryon Lumber. She loved to go antiquing and thrift shopping. In addition to her husband, Bobby "Warp", she is survived by a son Chris Jenkins (Lynn); sisters, Victoria Wilson and Anna Litteral (Andy); grandchildren, Jordan Snively (Tucker), Taylor Bishop (Gavin), Easton Jenkins (Hannah), Gracelyn Lance and Brayden Lance; great grandchildren, Adeline Bishop and Teddy Snively; special friends, Debbie Denton, Lydia Mullet, Cindy Robertson, Carol Walker, Judy Smith and Joan Williams Merrill. Jackie Southern Oxendine, 82, of Landrum, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her home. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Monell Center Southern. Jackie was the widow of Hudell Oxendine, who passed away in 2022. She loved spending time with her family and going to church. Jackie was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Tanoa Taylor (Allen); a sister, Dale Turner (Tex); two grandchildren, Kyle Cooper (Kristy) and McKenzie Cooper (Houston). Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Gibson Cooper, Karleigh Cooper, Kinsley Ussery, and Kennedy Williams,. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Mackey Southern. James Hamrick

Age - 94

James Hoyt Hamrick, age 94, of Caroleen, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Upstate Community Hospice in Landrum. James was born Tuesday, June 25, 1929 in Cleveland County to the late Ostace Hamrick and Myrtle Vegrace Hamrick. He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, class of 1948. James worked approximately thirty years for Burlington Industries before retirement. He held the distinction of being the oldest member of Caroleen Baptist Church. He faithfully served in many leadership positions during his seventy-eight-year membership at the church. James also served in the church choir and in his earlier days was part of a barbershop quartet. He was very well loved and respected by his church family and the entire Caroleen community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Irene Jones Hamrick; two brothers, four sisters and a niece. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Peggy Randall of Newbury, California and a host of nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 30th at Caroleen Baptist Church with Reverend Andy Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. The body will lie in state at the funeral home, on Thursday morning from 8:00 am until 11:00 am.Show more

Jean Carruth Plumley Boyce passed away on November 24, 2023. Jean was born on June 28, 1940 to Brooks Griffin Carruth and James Ferguson Carruth. She lived in Landrum her entire life. Jean graduated from Landrum High School and received her associate degree in nursing from USC Upstate in 1977. Working as a registered nurse was a true calling for Jean. She loved her job at Landrum Medical Center. After her retirement, she volunteered for Hospice of the Carolina Foothills and for Meals on Wheels. Jean was a longtime member of Landrum First Baptist Church where she volunteered in many capacities. She loved her Dorcas Sunday School class. Many people including family, friends and strangers experienced Jeans kind, caring, and giving nature. Jean is survived by her husband John Boyce and her stepdaughter Lori Boyce of Landrum. She is also survived by her daughter Susan Plumley Pickren (Jim) of Chattanooga, her granddaughters Elizabeth Pickren Sanders (Josh) of Chattanooga and Jennifer Pickren Murnan (Sean) of Chattanooga. Precious great grandsons are Keller Lovett Murnan, Max Griffin Sanders, and another due in 2024. Jean is also survived by her sisters Betty Pryor of Inman and Frances Smith of Tryon. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Plumley, her sister Harriette Burns and her brother Jerry Carruth. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, November 27, 2023 at Petty Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm - 3:00pm prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor of Tryon for their love and care over the last four years. Elizabeth "Libby" Elaine Foster, 68, of Landrum, SC, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Gilbert and Betty Jane Gilbert. Libby is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Michael T. Foster; her sons, David Scott Foster (Tonya) of Gramling, Michael Lee Foster and Mark Steven Foster of Landrum; siblings, Nancy Grigg (Robert) of Campobello, Sandra Robinson (Ray) of Chesnee and Robert Gilbert (Barbara) of Sunny View; nieces, nephews, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her grandfather who raised her, Carol Robert Burrell. Libby was loved by numerous nieces and nephews and enjoyed cooking for them and was also known as "Mama/Nana" to countless others that she loved as her own. A visitation will be held from 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM with a memorial service to follow on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church 330 W Finger St, Landrum, SC 29356. Bobby Franklin Barton, 89, of 205 Granger Road, departed on Nov. 9, 2023. He served the City of Spartanburg as a Public Safety Officer for 26 years, was celebrated as community relations officer of the year in 1987, and retired as an investigating officer in 1991. He was a member of Mesopotamia United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Laughter (Dwight) of Rutherfordton NC, and her children Sandy, Kim, and Melinda; son Reginald Barton of Atlanta GA; and a brother Wendell (Georgia) of Wellford. He is predeceased by his wife Martha; daughter Cheryl Rowe (Carol) of Spartanburg, and her surviving children Miranda, John Paul, Elizabeth, and Melissa; his sisters Betty-Lou Revan (Monk); and Doris Jean Wofford (E.
