Janice Helen "Jan" Taylor, 79, of East Peoria, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria. She was born on May 21, 1944, a daughter of Elmer W. Binkele and Lucille M. (Murray) Binkele. They preceded her in death. Jan married Foy Hugh Taylor on March 6, 1965 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1991 in Peoria. Jan is survived by her two sisters, Sandra Pendola of Lockport, IL and Ruth Heiniger of Germantown Hills, IL. She is also survived by her two daughters, Catherine (Tod) Rigdon and Margaret “Peggy” Russell, both of Manito, IL; four grandchildren, Avery Rigdon of Pekin, IL, Shelby Rigdon of Springfield, IL, Katie Russell of St. Louis, MO, and Lauren Russell, of Manito, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Inara and Analeigh Stoehr, both of Pekin, IL. She was a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, Class of 1962 where she was a cheerleader for four years. She also attended Bradley University. Jan worked as an administrative assistant for the Tazewell County Health Department for several years, retiring in 2007. Janice loved dogs, in particular, Cocker Spaniels. She loved and was completely devoted to each one she had. She leaves behind her Cockapoo, Lucy. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Inurnment will take place in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at a later date. EAST PEORIA ~ Theresa Marie Flanagan, 68, of East Peoria, passed away at 1:14 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. Born May 16, 1955 in Peoria to Clarence and Margaret (Sours) Harris, she married Terry L. Flanagan on June 2, 1973 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Tracy (Christopher) Hurst of Oakridge, Tennessee; two sons, Timothy Flanagan of Cantonment, Florida and Terence Flanagan of Cantonment, Florida; five grandchildren, Tyler Whitby-Flanagan, Kaylie Hurst, Kelsey Hurst, Matthew Flanagan and Veronica Flanagan; three great-grandchildren, Eveln Whitby-Flanagan, Aerith Whitby-Flanagan and Adlyn Flanagan; six siblings, Clarence Harris, Jr., Susan (Robert) Whitby, Cherly Harris, Jeff (Donna) Harris, Donald Harris and Debra (Kevin) Kaufman. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Kyle Hurst. A Homemaker, Theresa enjoyed reading, solving wood puzzles and her Thursday Bible study. She loves spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Theresa was a member of The Journey Church in East Peoria. There will be no services. "Ken Harkness, 85, a lifelong resident of East Peoria, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at his home. He was born in Peoria on August 28, 1938, to Kenneth R. and Bernice (Byers) Harkness. He married his wife of nearly 60 years, Laurie Wascher, in Metamora on February 8, 1964; she survives. Also surviving are his two children, Leanne Harkness of Washington and Cori Harkness of East Peoria; 3 grandsons, Skylr (Tiera) Harkness, Chaddam (Kayla) Harkness, and Nigel Harkness; granddaughter, Sydney (Matt) Ryan; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirl Fletcher. Ken graduated with the East Peoria Community High School Class of 1956, where he ran track and still holds the record in the 880 Relay. He went on to run track at Bradley University for two more years. Ken proudly served in the Army Reserves for seven years and retired as a network analyst for Caterpillar after 24 years. He was an active member of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria and Knights of Columbus Msgr. E. L. Grzybowski Council. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home \u0026amp; Cremation Services in East Peoria. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria, with additional visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Father John Steffen will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. "Ronald “Ron” Lee Mansfield Sr., 60, of East Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at his home. He was born in Peoria on May 28, 1963, to Thomas and Shirley (Robenstein) Mansfield. He married Lisa Ibanez on March 3, 1984 (2004.) He is survived by his mother, Shirley Mansfield, of East Peoria; 4 children, Ronald Mansfield Jr. (Taylor Brown) of Deer Creek, Timothy Mansfield of Peoria, Nicole (Joshua) Felker of Washington, and Lindsay Mansfield of Deer Creek; 5 siblings, Toni (Alvin) Schultz, Kathleen Mansfield, and Cheryl Mansfield, all of East Peoria, Thomas (Sandy) Mansfield Jr. of Ocala, FL, and David (Shelly) Mansfield of Washington. Ron also leaves behind the greatest joys of his life, his grandchildren: Bella, Skylie, Dexter, Walker, Finley, Oliver, Ava, McKenna, and Lincoln. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Mansfield Sr., and his daughter, Rachel Lynn Mansfield. Ron worked as a truck driver for Pyles Trucking Company in Goodfield for the last 12 years. Ron’s greatest accomplishment in life was the family he raised. He was a wholly devoted father and a doting Papa who valued and fiercely protected his family. He was truly the most selfless man. He can be remembered saying “Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life,” and he truly lived by that. Ron was, and continues to be so deeply loved, and will forever be missed. Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Peoria. Visitation will be 4:30pm-5:30pm with services to directly follow. She was born in Quincy on September 21, 1939, to Marshall and Mildred Potter. She married her husband of 68 years, Everett Chasteen in Bartonville on September 23, 1955; he survives. She is also survived by her 3 daughters, Shirley Marlene (Stanley) Bieber and Marsha Chasteen, both of Washington and Melinda (Jeff) Prowell of San Antonio, TX; her stepchildren, Terry Chasteen of Peoria and Jerry Chasteen of Germantown Hills; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Chasteen and her grandson, Joshua. Shirley dedicated her life to her family and was a great cook. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and was a race car fan, along with Everett. He married Marty Archdale in Groveland on November 16, 2002; she survives. Also surviving are his 2 sons, Christopher (Cynthia) Rennau of St. Louis, MO and Seth (Melissa) Rennau of Jacksonville, IL; 2 stepdaughters, Michelle (Tom Volk) Archdale of East Peoria and Holly (Jon) Moore of Pekin; his 4 siblings, Sharon Lamprecht of East Peoria, Roy “Jay” (Kathy) Rennau, Jr. of Winterhaven, FL, Patsy Greuter of East Peoria, and Barbara Force of Waupaca, WI; 11 grandchildren, Madison, Parker, Bella, and Shane Rennau, Brooke (Neil) Callahan, Jesse Yoder, Emily and Tyler Moore, and Jacob, Sky, and Jalen Moberly; and 3 great grandchildren, Caleb, Adalyn, and Jaxon Callahan. Donald graduated from Peoria Central High School Class of 1965. He worked as a supervisor in the Master Scheduler Department at Caterpillar, retiring after 40 years of service. In his free time, Donald played guitar with The Electric Corn Band. He loved golf, Nascar, and watching the History Channel. He and Marty enjoyed spending their winters in Bradenton, FL. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Bible Church in Peoria. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home \u0026amp; Cremation Services in East Peoria. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the funeral home, with additional visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
