Jeffery Howard Obituary

"Dr. Jeffrey Howard, a beloved physician in the Tulsa community, passed away on April 22, 2023. He was 58 years old. Born on January 21, 1965 in Omaha, NE, Dr. Howard grew up in Denver and Albuquerque and completed his undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University. Jeff pursued his passion for medicine by attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completing his residency at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa. In more than thirty years of family medicine, Jeff improved countless lives, earning the respect and admiration of his patients and colleagues. Dr. Howard was known for his attention to detail, and went above and beyond to care for his many long-time patients - some of which he'd treated for decades. He showed a compassionate bedside manner, willingness to listen, and an ability to make his patients feel at ease. He was also particularly skilled in difficult diagnoses, and continually kept up with the latest medical advances to provide the best care possible. Outside of his practice, Dr. Howard was devoted to his family and cherished his many friends. He loved spending time with his Dachshunds and was eager to share stories of their latest adventures together. Jeff was a member of The Park Church of Christ in Tulsa, and was a faithful friend to many there, even as his cancer progressed. He wanted to be with his church family whenever he felt strong enough, and even sometimes when he didn't. Dr. Howard will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He'll always be remembered for his warmth, kindness, wisdom, and signature upbeat nature. His legacy lives on through his family and friends who loved him dearly, many colleagues who respected his work, and countless patients and families whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be held Saturday April 29th at 10am at The Park Church of Christ in Tulsa. "
