"Bob" Sadowski, 89, of Belleville, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in Lebanon, IL. He was born on July 19, 1934, in Edgerton, WI, to Andrew and Juanita (nee Bryant) Sadowski. On April 17, 1982, he married the love of his life, Dolores Zappavigna. Bob grew up in Edgerton, WI, and spent summers with his cousins in Salem, IL. He graduated high school in 1952 and served four years in the United States Air Force. After his service, Bob returned to Edgerton to work as a mail carrier, then moved to Chicago, IL, where he worked with Crooks Public Terminal Warehouse, Time Magazine, and then 44 years with Reynolds Fasteners, which later became Heads and Threads. As a member of the Streamwood, IL, community, Bob was an active member of his church where he volunteered to give communion to the homebound and nursing home residents. He and Dolores always loved watching their grandchildren play sports. In 2009, they moved to Belleville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Juanita Sadowski; sister, Barbara Marsh; sister-in-law, Marcella Sadowski. Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dolores Sadowski; children, Paul (JoAnn) Sadowski, Acworth, GA, Rich (Sue) Hallas, Streamwood, IL, Rick (Tracy) Sadowski, South Elgin, IL, Tania (Adam) Evans, Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Heather, Adam, Sean, Meghan, Samantha, Kacy, Cody, Sara, Dakota, Abigail, Jaime, Michael, Joe; many great grandchildren; brother, Andrew Sadowski; sister, Gail (Mark) Bennett; many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.
