Fredrick Leo Hamilton, 80, died at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 3, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Wabash, Indiana on December 23, 1943, the son of Lawrence Joseph and Ethel Marie (Campbell) Hamilton. Fred married Linda Long Dennis on August 19, 1978 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wabash.Fred was born and raised in Wabash, Indiana with his brothers and sister, Jim, Tom, Bob, Larry, Bill, Ed, and Barb. After graduating from Wabash High School in 1961, he then served two years in the U. S. Army.After high school and his military service, he lived and worked in Wabash County. He worked for almost twenty years at General Tire, Sears, HHH Trucking, and the Wabash Farm Bureau Co-operative. Then for more than twenty-seven years he farmed and fed cattle at Campbell-Hamilton Farms in Grant County. He finished his working career at Matthews Feed and Grain. For twenty-nine years, Fred enjoyed refereeing IHSAA Boys Basketball. Fred also traveled often to West Lafayette and never missed a home Purdue football game or a Men’s basketball game.Fred is survived by his wife, Linda Hamilton of Muncie; children, Dale Alan (Buffie) Dennis of Hamilton, Ohio and Jeff Darin (Rochel) Dennis of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Lily, Amelia, Justin, Jennie, and Jenna Dennis; brothers, Jim (Rosie) Hamilton, Bob (Lynn) Hamilton, Bill (Theresa) Hamilton, Ed (Cindy) Hamilton; sister, Barb (Roger) Hundley.Fred was preceded by his parents, Lawrence and Ethel Hamilton; son, Larry Dan Hamilton; brothers, Larry Hamilton and Tom Hamilton.Services are being planned for a later date.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or Delaware County Friends of Purdue at 3005 West Stradling Dr. 47304.Online condolences may be left for the family at www.meeksmortuary.com

Christopher Spears Harper, 62, Muncie, passed away Friday afternoon, March 1, 2024, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born July 16, 1961, in Muncie, the son of Rex and Kathy (Spears) Harper. Chris attended Sutton Elementary, Franklin Middle, and Muncie Southside Schools. He loved animals, enjoyed listening to music, and was always ready to throw a barbeque in the backyard for family and friends. Chris worked as a carpenter and had worked on the railroad. He attended Union Chapel Church. Survivors include his father, Rex (wife, Debbie) Harper; three sons, Nathan Harper, Nicholas Harper, and Shane Harper; daughter, Kaley (husband, John) Miller; brother, Tom Harper; three sisters, Kelli Harper, Joey Harper, and Alexis Harper; best friends, Sara and Tim; the mother of his children, Kim (Cooper) Harper; lifelong friends, John Koger, and the Burden family; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His mother, Kathy Harper; brother, Joe Harper; and his maternal grandparents, Clinton and Margaret Spears, preceded him in death. Charles Osborn, Jr., age 83, a resident of Portland, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Charles was born November 7, 1940, in Portland, the son of Charles Osborn, Sr. and Mary Helen (Coulson) Osborn. He worked at Sheller Globe in Portland and attended Portland First Church of the Nazarene. Charles enjoyed fishing, archery and telling corny jokes. Charles married Nancy Wood on June 12, 1965. Gloria Paulette Johnson, 67, Marion, passed away at 5:25 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 6, 1956, to Walter P. and Gloria E. (Bocock) Carter.  On April 12, 1980, she married James C. Johnson, and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2020.Gloria attended Marion Community Schools. She was a caregiver, who loved taking care of people. She had taken care of veterans in her home for several years. Gloria was an excellent cook and a wonderful mother, sister, and aunt Googie. She used to enjoy playing Bingo and going to the casino. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ann Johnson of Gas City; brothers, Elbert (Betty) Carter and James Carter; sisters, Tina (Roger) Clark and Kathy Mathias of Marion; and her dogs, Baby and Chloey.She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dennis Carter; and brother-in-law, Terry Mathias.A graveside service will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Estates of Serenity, 2225 E. Vicki graduated from Anderson Highland High School and went on to work for Spanish Wells Golf Community, doing property maintenance. She was described as a caring and giving person that enjoyed gardening, and taking care of her grandchildren and her dogs. Teresa graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1980.Teresa was employed as a Home Health Aide for more than 10 years. She was born on December 5, 1965, in Muncie IN., to the late Hershel and Claudia (Carver) Hargis. Tamara was a hardworking, hard-headed woman, who never took no for an answer. She was previously employed with International Paper. She enjoyed smoking her cigarettes, drinking her Coke, scratching lottery tickets, crocheting, and reading books and she was a historical buff. Sid was the baker of all bakers, locally known for her cheesecakes. She was so smart; she knew a little bit about a lot of things. She was always trying the next best thing to make a little money. She also loved watching her hummingbirds. She was loved and is survived by her fiancé' Kelly Martin, her only daughter Tori Nicole Mitchell, grandson Forrest Michael Mitchell, Raven (dog), one brother, her bobo, Terry Hargis, her favorite sister-in-law, Teresa Hargis, nephews Chad, and Matt (David) and Lukas Hargis; nieces Alyvia (Jacob Price), Brandi & Emma Hargis; extended family Tonya Naylor, Angie Mauller, Mark Kissick, Robin Lynn Holder, ex-husband Bobby Mitchell, as well as several other family members in Tennessee & West Virginia. Elizabeth Ann Leslie, 66, of Muncie, Indiana passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024.She was born on Sunday, June 2, 1957, in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Thomas Barrett and Elizabeth (Froude) Bian.After graduating from Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington, NJ, Elizabeth ("Liz") spent many years living and working in Milwaukee (and Madison) Wisconsin. Eventually, she took a job in the Grand Canyon, where she met and married her first and only husband, Kyle Leslie. They moved to Indianapolis (where she would spend the majority of her life), having one child together. After spending some years as a homemaker, she returned to school and received an associate degree in paralegal studies from Kaplan University. Liz spent her career as a paralegal at the law firm Bleecker, Brodey & Andrews, and was a cherished member of their company. Outside of work, she enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, and taking walks in nature. She was also an avid reader. Travel was important to Liz, and she had been all over North America, and visited Europe several times. For many consecutive years, she would make custom Christmas cards by hand, just to send to family and friends. She was baptized and raised as a Catholic, but later reinvigorated her faith in the Protestant tradition, contributing many hours of service as a member of Southport Christian Church. Music was very important, and a source of joy. Liz possessed a remarkable combination of both conscientiousness and openness. She leaves behind her two sisters, Nancy & Janet, her son Devin (Jadelynn), and two grandchildren, Ezra, and Naomi. Memorial visitation is Thursday, February 29, 2024, 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.Memorial service will begin at 6:30 pm. Pastor John Kixmiller to officiate.

MUNCIE-- Robert A. Chambers (Bob), 72, passed away at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Bob was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on May 3, 1951 to harry and Velma (Copeland) Chambers.  He later relocated to Muncie, Indiana and graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1970.  He was married to his wife of fifty years, Teresa (Callahan) Chambers. Bob was an outgoing person who never met a stranger and enjoyed staying busy.  He worked at Duffy Tool and Stamping, the Delaware County Highway Department, and as a security guard for Maring-Hunt Library, until his retirement in 2023.  He was a reserve officer for the Muncie and Parker City Police Departments, and a long-standing member of the Eagles Lodge 231.  In his free time, he like to bowl in local leagues, golf with friends, play softball, cruise on his pontoon boat, ride his Harley, and spend time with family.  Bob is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughters Stacey Linn (Richard), Nikki Chambers, and Jamie Chambers; grandchildren, Hayden, Kendall, Ashton, Jayden, Tionna, Dallas, Ariana, Cire, and Kash; sister-in-law Debbie Oliver; brother-in-law Lee Dobbs; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Dobbs. Calling hours will be from 3-6 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Meek's Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.  There will be an additional calling hour at 11am, Monday, March 4, 2024 prior to the funeral service at noon.  Burial will immediately follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
