Obituary JayRoy Anderson Jr. 72, of Youngstown passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born September 8, 1951 in Youngstown the son of JayRoy Sr, and Eva Elizabeth Henry Anderson. JayRoy grew up in Youngstown, OH; a city he loved and never left. He retired from Valley Foods after 20 years and he enjoyed working on cars and listening to and playing music. JayRoy will be dearly missed and always remembered. He is survived by his longtime companion; Diane Kibble; his brothers; Sam "Frenchial" (Lee Rona) Anderson and Cory (Misty) Anderson; his sons; JayRoy (LaToya) Hicks, Phillip Anderson, Jaroyce Anderson, Lorice (Catrina) Moore and Deljuan (Lakisha) Williams; his daughters; Kristy (John) Gore); two stepchildren; Tanya and Terrance Kibble and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; JayRoy Sr. and Eva Elizabeth Henry Anderson; his wife Polly A. Anderson; his son Anton Flint; his sisters; Rosalie Anderson, Carole Dubois and Nancy Washington; his brothers; Oliver Anderson and David Farrell Sr. and his loving niece Sophia Walker. JayRoy has requested a Celebration of Life to be held in his honor as opposed to a traditional funeral service. We request all of JayRoy's loved ones to join us in celebrating his beautiful life. CORTLAND - D. Diane Gold, 76, passed away Friday December 1, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a lengthy illness. Diane was born August 21, 1947, in Somerset, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Virl Kooser and Jean Kifer Kooser and came to the Girard area in 1965 after she married her high school sweetheart, Jay Gilbert. She was a 1965 graduate of Somerset High School and worked as the office manager at Rubenstein and Associates. Diane also worked as an assistant for Corydon Palmer Dental Society before she retired in 2017. Diane enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, visiting the casino and going to various purse bingo events held throughout the area. Most of all, Diane enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Lisa (Rich) Conklin of Howland and Jackie (Jeff) Cowles of Mineral Ridge; seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Erica) Gilbert, Tyler Cowles, Zackery Conklin, Nicholas Conklin, Brock Cowles, Riley Cowles and Delaney Cowles; five great grandchildren, Xavier, Kiley, Hunter and Lucy Gilbert and Norah Cowles; her brother, John (Linda) Kooser of Hermitage and many nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Gold III, her first husband and father of her children, Jay Gilbert and a sister, Debra O'Brien. Per Diane's request there are no calling hours. A private celebration of life will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage. KENT - Dolores Jean Campbell, 87 formerly of Youngstown's west side, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 2, 2023, at the home of her youngest daughter, Noreen, where she had lived for the past nine years. Dolores was born June 20, 1936, in Youngstown, the second daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Jakupcin Serenko, and lived most of her life in the area. She completed elementary school at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School on the west side of Youngstown and was a 1954 graduate of Chaney High School. After high school, Dolores worked as a legal secretary for Rendinelli, Powers, and Powers. It was there that she met her husband-to-be, Edwin B. Campbell. On May 9, 1959, Edwin and Dolores were married in Holy Name of Jesus Church. Together, they built their home on the west side of Youngstown and raised their family. Dolores was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to caring for her family. Once her girls were grown, Dolores worked part-time sampling products at local grocery stores and big box stores. She truly enjoyed meeting with the public and interacting and talking with the shoppers. Mrs. Campbell was an active member of St. Brendan Church where she served as the co-chairman of the Cake Booth at the annual parish festival. Dolores was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and in her younger days, she volunteered at St. Brendan School in the Home and School Association. Dolores was also a lifetime member of Zenska Jednota, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Dolores was very active in her children's lives and could be regularly seen riding bicycles with her girls and their friends all around the west side, and during the winter months, she would join her girls and their friends ice skating in Mill Creek Park. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout Troop leader and took her girls camping and on many field trips with the Girl Scout Organization. Dolores enjoyed volunteering her time for the American Cancer Society and singing with the Youngstown Women's Choir which performed many local concerts throughout the area, especially during the holiday season. Dolores leaves to forever cherish her memory her three daughters, Sharon Bellinger and her husband, Brett of Windsor, CT. , Brenda Campbell of Youngstown, and Noreen Heltzel and her husband, Christopher of Kent; four grandsons, Brenden Bellinger, Travis Heltzel, Will (Makia) Heltzel, and Mario (Jenna) Heltzel; three great-granddaughters, Zyia, Zariana, and Zoey; a great-grandson, Edwin and many loving nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Dolores will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her husband of 59 years, Edwin B. Campbell, passed away on November 21, 2018. A sister Gertrude "Trudy" Quinby, brothers in law, Dave Quinby, Daniel English, Steve Schlosser, and Anthony "Tony" Carrera, sisters in law, Marie English, Elizabeth "Betty" Schlosser and Ellemae Carrera, two nephews, Robert and Jerry Schlosser and a niece Janet Zielinski preceded Dolores in death. Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 p. m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd. , Youngstown. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a. m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11 a. m. at St. Brendan Church Oakwood Ave. , Youngstown. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown where Dolores will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many caregivers who have helped over the years, including Dr. Koval, the doctors at Summa Center for Seniors, Coleman Adult Daycare, and the personnel from Summa Hospice. Martha James Obituary Mrs. Martha James, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away at home on November 24, 2023. Martha was born on December 8,1935 in Mobile, Alabama to William and Leola Lane. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed music, bingo, cruises, shopping and she loved the company of others whom she always had a warm smile for. She loved her family and friends, and they all loved her. She married the love of her life, Lawrence James in 1982. They were together until his passing in 2002. Martha was proceeded in death by her father William Lane, Mother Leola Lane, sisters Mrs. Evangerine Collins and Ms. Mamie Cunninghan, brother George Lane, husband Lawrence James and son Ronald Stewart. She is survived by her seven children: Johnny Stewart, Linda Stewart, Sammy Stewart, Ann Stewart, Lorraine Stewart, Theresa Stewart, Richard Stewart, stepbrother Christopher Lane of Mobile, Alamba and stepsister Selina Barnette of Cincinnati, Oh, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews. William "Bill" Haines, age 75, of Youngstown, OH, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born on December 14, 1947, in Youngstown to William Jennings and Ruth Cora (Suite) Haines. Bill was a loving father, devoted grandfather, and a compassionate individual who always lent a helping hand to those in need. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Paje, son Rick, granddaughter Kalynn, and his numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Navy, where he developed a strong sense of duty and honor. After his military service, Bill embarked on a successful career at General Motors in Lordstown, where he dedicated many years of hard work and commitment. His contributions to the company were highly valued, earning him many awards, and he retired with a sense of accomplishment. In his free time, Bill enjoyed pursuing his hobbies of hunting and fishing. These activities allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in the great outdoors. Much to the delight of his family, he was also a very talented chef, learning new recipes and creating his own. He enjoyed cooking immensely, and would pass on his knowledge to family and friends. His passion for these pursuits brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be announced at a later date. In honoring his memory, let us remember his selflessness, his love for his family, and his dedication to his country. Lowellville - Richard H. "Sid" Schrader, 86, passed away on Thursday evening, November 30, 2023, at Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House. Richard, known as "Sid" by many, was born August 14, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Kenneth P. and Edna M. Gilmore Schrader. A proud lifelong resident of Lowellville, Rich graduated from Lowellville High School, where he played baseball for the Rockets. Rich hit the last home run at the old Lowellville baseball stadium. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served three years of active duty and five years as a reservist, until being honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class. Returning to his hometown, Rich worked shortly in the steel mills, before accepting a position with Wean United/United Foundries. He worked for the company as a lathe operator until retiring at age 62. Rich was a member of the former Lowellville United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge. Some of Rich's favorite things included, bowling with sons in a league at the Holiday Bowl, drinking a cold Carlings Black Label beer, collecting state quarters, growing his famous "tomato trees," and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Guardians, who Rich said will always be the Indians in his heart. He especially loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and playing Poker, 5 Card Stud, Deuces and Jacks, and 9 Holes at Christmas. Fellow card players could rest assured that Rich always had his Book of Hoyle handy and ready to challenge the rules! His fun personality, love of teasing and joking around, and all the loving nicknames he gave to others will be missed by many. Rich leaves to carry on his memory, his wife the former Linda B. Coker, whom he married on May 4, 1963 at the Lowellville United Methodist Church; sons, Richard (Judy) Schrader of Lowellville and Norman (Leslie) Schrader of Glasgow, KY; grandchildren, Richard (Anna) Schrader II, Jacque Schrader, Tyler (Brandon) Crasi, and Dylan Schrader; step-grandchildren, Cody Compton and Geno Millione; great-grandchildren, Richard Schrader III, Danielle Schrader, and Beau and Eloise Crasi; step-great-granddaughter, Giavonna Morucci; brother, Walter Schrader of Lowellville; sisters-in-law, Marian Toppe of KY and Wilma Forbes of IN; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by sons, Donald and Douglas Schrader; his sister and brother-in-law, Sarah "Sally" and Jim McFadden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Marie Coker; step-granddaughter, Caitlyn Compton; sister-in-law, Lorine Schrader; and brothers-in-law, Bud Coker, Sonny Coker, Bill Toppe, and Jim Forbes.
