Jesse Day DeSouza

Jesse Day DeSouza, 44, passed away on February 9th, 2024, with his loyal dog Atari by his side. He was a devoted Life-long Partner to Malia DeSouza-Taketa and a Loving father to his two children. Jesse was a devoted son to his loving parents; being his father’s caretaker for over 30 years before his father entered an assisted living home. He then relocated to Ohio, where his family later joined him. Jesse’s parents happily adopted him from the Sacramento County Adoption Department when he was only 2 years old. He immediately brought joy to his extended family. He was very proud of his Native American heritage. The tribe of background heritage is called Yaqui. Jesse’s adoptive parents were the only couple to get to meet his biological mother in person, which was very unlikely during that time. His biological mother, Lauren, was impressed by the time spent talking to his adoptive parents, and she knew that they were the perfect fit for him. Jesse grew up in California, where he attended Our Lady of Assumption Catholic School in Carmichael, CA, Presentation Catholic School, and Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, CA. Jesse always looked out for the younger children. He would even play Jump Rope with them. He seamlessly made many friends as he treated everyone like family. Jesse was the friendliest, most unique, and loving individual. He was an Avid sports fan, even playing baseball, basketball, and football himself in high school. He was the star quarterback. Jesse’s coaches were amazed with his knowledge of all of the different plays and tactics. His favorite teams were the Raiders, Oklahoma City Blue, Chicago White Sox, and Notre Dame College Football. Jesse is survived by his Life-long Partner and the mother of his children; Malia, daughter, Alize’ Day DeSouza, son, Akamu DeSouza-Taketa, his parents, Virgina DeSouza-Morrison, John DeSouza, his brother, Kevin DeSouza, and his stepfather, Stan Morrison. There will be a Celebration of life service held for Jesse at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave., Middletown, OH, 45005, on Saturday at 1:00 PM. There will be a luncheon held after the service in the event center at the same location. All are invited to come out to honor the life of Jesse Day DeSouza. There will be another Celebration of Life Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church, in Carmichael, CA. He will eventually be Interred at St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Sacramento, CA, with his grandmother, Mary C. Pelosi (Fratus) Byrholdt, his grandfather, Russell Byrholdt, and will be later joined by his parents, Virginia M. (Fratus) DeSouza and John F. DeSouza. Dale Scott Morgan, 61 transitioned into eternal life in his home on February 15, 2024. He was born on September 10 1962 in Middletown, Ohio to Josiah and Nancy Morgan. Dale graduated from Middletown Senior High School in 1981. He worked at the Manchester Inn, and Square D. Many friendships bloomed from his jobs. Dale married, and from this union he was blessed with a son Dohnovan and a daughter Darah. They were the loves of Dale’s life; he smiled every time he heard their names. Dale spent time collecting comic books, action figures, and watching sports. He was a top bowler and he excelled on the basketball court. Having intense conversations after movie releases and he was a “Wiz” at trivia. Dale was a “Jack of all Trades” . He lovingly gave nicknames to all the little people in his life….. Funny, witty, a genuine friend, one of the kindest men are just a few sentiments that describe Dale’s demeanor. Dale stopped by his parents house daily to check on them, he showed kindness, support, and concern to many who crossed his path. He built long life lasting friendships with parents at the Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Josiah and Nancy Morgan. New Middletown – A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, February 26, at 11:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown for Genevieve Rock, 79, who died Wednesday, February 21, at the Hospice House surrounded by her family. Genevieve was born November 18, 1944, in Youngstown a daughter of Sam and Genevieve Ravotti. She graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1963 and married Robert Michael Rock on August 22, 1964. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Genevieve enjoyed camping, traveling, and gambling. Her greatest love is God and her family. Her favorite place to go with her family is Disney World. Genevieve leaves her husband, Robert, two sons Robert Rock, Jr. of North Lima and Michael (Cheryl) Rock of Boardman, a daughter Tracy Rock of Poland, ten grandchildren Sarah Phibbs, Katie Silone, Robby Rock, Michael Rock, Marisa Rock, Eric Rock, Alexander Kerchum, Lorraine Price, Tiffany Davis, and Christopher Kerchum, and twelve great grandchildren Gavin, Gianna, Ben, Arianna, Delilah, Robby, Nicholas, Oliver, Aria, Logan, Brian, and Aubrey.
