Beverly Huckle
Age - 90
December 8, 2023
Beverly June (Agre) Huckle passed away early Wednesday morning, December 6, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born in Sacred Heart, MN on February 9, 1933, to Martin G. and Sylvia E. (Sorenson) Agre. Her siblings were Shirley (Bob) Vogt and Gary (Joyce) Agre. She also lived in Portland, OR where her parents worked building cargo ships during WWII, and moved to Appleton, MN afterward. Bev was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School in 1950. After high school she moved to Minneapolis where she was employed by Twin Cities Lines bus company and was asked to represent the company in the annual Minneapolis Aquatennial Parade. She married the love of her life, Richard ("Dick") A. Huckle, at Zion Lutheran Church on April 30, 1955. They were blessed with 63 wonderful years of love and commitment, along with the birth of three children: Richard A. (Lori) Huckle, Jr. , Bradley G. (Melissa) Huckle, and Lyn M. (Gregory) Deuel. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Richard A. (Janelle) Huckle, III, Gretchen M. (Benoit) Bodin, Brian G. Deuel, Stephen A. Huckle, and Keith R. Huckle. Dick was a career officer & Naval Aviator in the Marine Corps, and they started the adventure of their married life together in Cherry Point, NC, where he was stationed. They moved ten times over the course of the next sixteen years to meet the Marine Corps needs. Bev orchestrated and managed all of those moves seamlessly and with great humor and skill. After Cherry Point, NC, she moved the family to Appleton, MN - when Dick was ordered overseas to Japan; upon his return they moved to Tustin, CA; then in succession to Kingsville, TX; Meridian, MS; Quantico, VA; back to Appleton, MN when Dick deployed to Vietnam. After his return they moved to El Toro, CA (her dear mother Sylvia joined Beverly during Dick's second deployment to Vietnam in 1968-69, and helped during the period he was overseas). Beverly was a tower of strength for her family and husband during his combat deployments - writing letters every day, mailing food boxes, and effectively managing the household, children, and daily decisions. Their last move for the military was to Jacksonville, NC. Bev and Dick moved their family back to Appleton, MN in June 1971, where they owned and operated Huckle & Doring Chevrolet until 1978. They also farmed and owned an Oliver farm implement business for many years. Bev was artistically gifted and loved to take classes where she learned how to make beautiful hats, embroidery, and enjoyed many other creative outlets. She was a genius with color palettes, design, flowers, cooking/baking and having things "just so". Bev and Dick loved to travel and spent years of enjoyment camping with their trailer all over the country. They also traveled to England, France, Germany, and Norway in 2000. Beverly was a woman of deep Christian faith and lived those beliefs every day. She was a great role model, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on numerous groups within the church. Beverly was pure love. She always said the most important role she had was as a loving supportive partner in life with her husband, and as a mother and grandmother. Her funeral is to be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, New Brighton, MN, on December 12th, with visitation at 9:30 a. m. , funeral service at 10:30 a. m. , lunch to follow the service, with burial afterward (1 p. m. ) at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
