Jared Mausteller Obituary

Jared M. Mausteller, 39, of Berwick, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday, May 7, 2023. Born in Berwick on April 12, 1984, he was a son to Warren Mausteller, Sr. and the late Bernadette Caso. Jared attended Berwick Area Schools. He proudly served in the United States Army, having been deployed to Afghanistan and serving in the National Guard. Following his discharge from the Army, he began his career as a corrections officer at SCI Mahanoy, where he remained for nearly 10 years. Jared loved his community. That, along with his love of motorcycles, drove him to create and head Mercenaries community service group. The group aided fundraising for several local causes including the Ber-Vaughn Pool. His commitment to community service also included his service as a volunteer fireman at West Berwick Hose Co. In addition to riding motorcycles, he found joy in working on them. He was also an avid firearms enthusiast. Jared loved his family and time spent with them, especially around his backyard firepit. In addition to his father, Jared is survived by his companion, Erica Vargo, of Berwick; children: Taj Mausteller of Shickshinny, Christopher Mausteller of Nanticoke, and Hailey Mausteller of Nanticoke; siblings: Christine Pacelli and wife, Amanda, of Nanticoke and Warren Mausteller, Jr. and wife, Marge, of Shickshinny; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
