Jared Heath Bowers, 41, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Monday, June 20, 2022, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Jared was born in Jonesboro and grew up in Bay. He was a 1998 graduate of Riverside High School where he excelled in basketball. He worked most of his adult life in the family's construction business. Jared was a member of Jonesboro Worship Center. He enjoyed going to the lake, partaking in practical jokes, and laughing. Jared had a heart for dogs and was known to bring home strays. He had a life-long passion for the game of basketball; it never grew old. Jared most of all loved spending time with his family. Jared was preceded in death by his father Gary Bowers and his grandparents: Ed and Gladys Bowers, Ruth Spillman, and Carl Spillman. Survivors include his mother, Carletta Bowers of Jonesboro;2 sisters and their husbands: Monica and James Shelton and Erica and Todd McClung all of Jonesboro;a half sister and her husband, Lisa and Gary Weaver of Lake City; and6 nephews and nieces: Grant Shelton, Madison McClung, Lauren Shelton, Carleigh McClung, Garrett Weaver and Lauren Smith. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p. m. Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Marty Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 Thursday, prior to the funeral service. There are no gallery images.
