JANIE RUTH YOUNG THACKER, age 84, of Jefferson City, TN passed away September 10, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1939 in New Market, TN. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Jefferson City Water department, Jefferson Elementary School and finally at Jefferson County High School, retiring in 1998. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 61 years, Bobby. She is survived by her son, Randy and his wife, Cyndie; daughter, Laura Jane Walker and her husband Steve; five adult grandchildren, Zach (Crystal) Walker, Nathan (Elizabeth) Thacker, Will Hutchens, Daniel Thacker, Grayson Walker and two great grandchildren, Rhett and Hadleigh Walker. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p. m. to 1:30 p. m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City. A graveside internment service will follow at 2:00 p. m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Dr. Gene Wilder officiating. Donna Claire Wallace Reed, age 70, of Jefferson City, TN, went peacefully at home to be her Lord on November 29th, 2023. She was born on February 15th, 1953, in Hanover, New Hampshire, the daughter of Donald Clyde and Betty Louise Wallace. She is preceded in death by her baby sister, Diane Lynn Wallace; father, Donald Wallace; brother, Robert Wallace; oldest sister, Wanda McCrosky; and brother-in-law, David McCrosky. Donna moved to Jefferson City in 2005 after her husband, Roy Reed retired from ABF Freight Systems, moving here from Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1986 she and her husband were team drivers for Schneider Transport. Donna attended and graduated from the ADN RN program at Walters State Community College in 1989, being the 1,000th graduate of this program. She dedicated her life helping people as an RN. Not only did she serve as a clinical RN, but she also taught CNA programs in Albuquerque and Tennessee Tech in Knoxville for two years. Donna retired from nursing in 2007. In her lifetime, Donna took pride in her family and old-soul crafty nature. She loved collecting vintage dolls and angels, and her walls were always filled with family pictures. She frequently gave friends and family pictures that she colored herself, a passion of hers. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 35 years, Roy K Reed; daughter, Leniya Cheyenne Reed; son, Joshua Kent Reed; son, Barry Sheldon Reed; stepson, Marty Cline; stepdaughters, Clarissa Manning and Dorothy Roberts; mother, Betty Louise Wallace; sisters, Carol Carswell (Marty Carroll) and Brenda (Rick) Hatfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that she cherished. Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City JEWELL BROOKS HUX, of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away November 9, 2023 at 91 years of age. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains, where she served as organist for 70 years, church secretary, church treasurer, librarian, and senior adult director. Jewell retired from Thompson Cancer Survival Center in Knoxville and Mr. J. M. High’s accounting business in Jefferson City. Jewell was preceded in death by her spouse of 69 years, Robert "Bob" Hux; her parents, Robert Haskell and Elsie Brooks; sisters, Vivian Bailey, Roberta Cook, Anice Ogle; and granddaughter, Tiffany (Lockhart) Eldridge. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Bob) Berry, Patti (David) Lockhart, and Paula Hux; grandchildren, Kevin (Tiffany) Eldridge, Tyler (Lasha) Farrar, Casey (Daniel) Green, and Taylor Farrar; great-grandchildren, Ilee and Avery Eldridge, Keegan and Braxton Green; sister, Carolyn Brooks of Knoxville; many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.
