Janie (Lockney) Obituary

Janie McAnally, age 78, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a. m. , Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Lockney. Interment will follow at the Plainview City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p. m. - 8:00 p. m. , Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney. Janie was born on November 8, 1944 to Loren Lee and Helen Inez (Newman) Rhodes in Lockney. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1963 and attended Amarillo College. She married the love of her life, Dan McAnally, on February 23, 1980. Janie worked as a bookkeeper and as the Floyd County Auditor until she retired in 2000. Janie enjoyed many hobbies including her flower garden and playing bridge with her friends. Probably Janie's greatest joy came from her grandchildren. She loved just spending time with them. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Lacy Caballero. Those left to cherish Janie's memory are her husband, Dan; her sons, Jeff Bayley of Texline, Texas, Mike McAnally of Potsboro, Texas, and Austin McAnally of Pineland, Texas; her daughters, Lori (Tony) Caballero of Lockney, Texas, Jennifer (Josh) Ballard of Hemphill, Texas, and Karla McAnally of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion, Sugar.
