Trooper, PA
Janice Jacobs, a long-time resident of Trooper, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023 at the age of 92. For the past four years she resided at The Landing of Collegeville, a personal care community. Born in Steelton, Pennsylvania on January 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Leslie B. Hoch and Helen M. (Peck) Hoch. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman A. Jacobs (of 54 years). Mrs. Jacobs was a 1948 graduate of Norristown High School. Shortly after, she received her diploma in Medical Secretaryship from the Franklin School of Science and Arts in Philadelphia. Mrs. Jacobs worked for many years as an office manager for Dr. Samir Eldaief and Plymouth Pediatrics. Prior to that, she worked as a medical secretary at the former Montgomery and Riverside Hospitals. Mrs. Jacobs was a member of the former Bethany United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and played the piano for church events, and most recently, a faithful member of the Bethel Hill United Methodist Church. Among the many things Mrs. Jacobs enjoyed were knitting, sewing, and needlepoint. She often made children's blankets, hats and teddy bears for local hospitals. Mrs. Jacobs also enjoyed word games, especially crossword puzzles. Many were impressed by the depth and breadth of her vocabulary knowledge. Rumor has it that she was one of a few that completed her crossword puzzles in pen! Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her son Jeffrey Jacobs of Collegeville, a daughter Judith Seeman and her husband Paul of Pottstown, two grandsons, Justin Jacobs (Sara Sheehan) of Norristown and Aaron Jacobs (Amy Silvas) of Collegeville and two great-grandchildren Natalie Jacobs of Collegeville and Kenneth Jacobs of Norristown. She is also survived by three sisters, Hazel Allen, Patricia Zambella and Frances Schwass, all living locally. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Jacobs' Celebration of Life service on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the chapel of the Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation is at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Bethel Hill United Methodist Church, 2000 Bethel Road, Lansdale, PA 19446. Funeral arrangements are by Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home, Norristown, PA.
