Janice M Brown, age 84 passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2023, with family at her side Jan was born on October 10, 1938, in Erie, Pa She was a 1956 graduate of Girard High School Jan worked for a short time at the former Astatic Corp in production Prior to that time, Jan worked for over 20 years as a server, then hostess at the former Pape's Restaurant in Conneaut She truly loved greeting, serving, and talking with her customers at the restaurant She was an avid custom doll- maker, was a great cook, liked baking, sewing, completing exquisite needlework, and reading Jan cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, neighbors, friends, and Yorkies Jan loved to travel with her husband, Jim throughout the United States They also enjoyed winters in Sebring, Florida for several years, and visits with family and friends there Jan was preceded in death by her birth parents, Stephen and Jeanette Logan, her adoptive parents, Samuel and Ida Latona, and one great-great granddaughter, infant Viviana Hathy She is survived by her husband James W Brown, whom she married December 7, 1990, three daughters Patricia (Jeff) Janis of Twinsburg, Ohio, Kelly Prescott of Mayfield Heights, Ohio and Cathy Norris of Concord, Ohio, a son Fred S Monda of Burton, Ohio Also, 10 grandchildren; Zachery (Alison) Hathy, Christian Hathy, Evangelia Nipper, Tera (Christopher) Swan, Michael Monda, Melissa Monda, Lindsay (Ken) Kukwa, Jared King, Jessica (Sam) Schuster, Jana (Jeremy) Tucci Including 16 great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandson expected next week She has one sister, Ethel Izzo of Margate, Fla , and her family, whom she has remained close with Two step- daughters Tamara Zappitelli, and Camille Brown, who live in Conneaut At Jan's request calling hours will not be planned Graveside services will take place on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 1:00 p m at East Conneaut Cemetery, Bailey Rd, Conneaut Rev Tim Krause will be officiating Family and friends will gather following the service at the American Legion Cowle Post 151, Conneaut The Raisian Funeral Home has been entrusted with Jan's arrangements

Camrian D. Mills, 19 of Zanesville and formerly of New Concord, passed away at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center on November 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Camrian was born on July 24, 2004, in Zanesville. He is the son of Shawn M. and Heather J. (Clark) Myers. He attended John Glenn High School with the class of 2023, and he was active with the choir and swim team. He worked as a lifeguard for the Village of New Concord and he participated in robotics and also the coding club. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and cherished the time he spent in Florida. He previously attended the Chandlersville Church of Christ. He had a love for all animals, especially, his dog Butch. He was a hard working man, who enjoyed working with his hands, and that showed through with his work at Elvira Farms in Zanesville. Most important to Camrian was time spent with his friends, family and the love of his life, Adraina Henning. In addition to his mom and dad, Camrian is survived by Adraina; also his siblings, Christian (Gloria) Mills, Alyssa Mills, Branden Myers, Aliyah (Ethan DiBlasio) Mills; his maternal grandmother, Michele Clark; his paternal grandmother, Ethel Mullins; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Camrian is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, David Clark; maternal aunt, Amanda Cochran; paternal grandparents, Gary and Anna Myers. Obituary Melody Ann Barr, 53, of New Concord, passed away Wednesday (October 25, 2023) at her home. She was born November 27, 1969 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Danny Fife and Clara (Davis) Fife. Melody was a member of the Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker. She loved going on rides down dirt roads and listening to the frogs. Melody enjoyed canning and was famous for her cooking skills, especially her no-bake cookies. She enjoyed planting flowers. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Melody loved spending time with her husband, Rick, and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She always put everybody else's needs before her own. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Morrow; a grandson, Caleb; and two sisters, Theresa Wickem and Connie Trott. Melody is survived by her husband, Rick L. Barr, whom she married July 20, 2013; two daughters, Kyrie Dean of New Concord and Shelton Morrow of New Concord; two stepsons, R. Brian (Michelle) Barr of New Concord and Brandon L. Barr of New Concord; two stepdaughters, Valarie (Mike) Lashley of Norwich and Caralee (Ben) Settles of Zanesville; a brother, Carlos "Bud" (Brenda) Stillion of Walhonding; five grandchildren, Dakota, Aiden, Braylin, Bryker, and Brynxli "Mess"; twelve stepgrandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins. Visitation will be held Sunday (October 29, 2023) from 2 p. m. to 4 p. m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville. Additional visitation hours will be held Monday (October 30, 2023) from 1 p. m. to 3 p. m. at Bloomfield United Presbyterian Church, where funeral services will follow at 3 p. m. with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Shirley Marie Repasky, age 83, of New Concord, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. She was born on August 10, 1940, in Adamsville, to the late Charles J. and Sara Mae (Fitzgerald) Fliger. Shirley graduated from Adamsville High School in 1959, and in 1964, she married Jerry Lee Repasky who passed away on January 20, 2003. She was a sewer at Ansel Edmonts for many years and worked in Housekeeping at Genesis before retiring. Shirley was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Adamsville. She enjoyed sewing, raising sheep and going to sheep shows, attending the fair and spending time with her Amish friends. Shirley is survived by her three children, Susan Cullins of New Concord, Jeff Repasky of Minnesota , and Sheila (Mike) Baker of Coshocton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and her Aunt, Clarabelle Parks of Conesville. Along with her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Tracey Lee; brother, Larry Fliger, Uncle, Shortie Parks; her close friend, Jim Wright and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. Joseph "Joe" W. Crawford III, 75 of New Concord, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on February 16, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio. He is the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Gillogly) Crawford II. He was the oldest of eight siblings. Joe worked at Lacey Brothers John Deere and Adams Well Service before owning his own business and working as a mechanic for thirty plus years. Joe's passion in life was dirt track racing. Joe worked on both of his son's race cars and spent many weekends at the dirt track. When he wasn't at the races, he was spending his free time watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Joe also loved hunting and fishing with his family. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Cheryl (Menzie) Crawford, whom he married on December 9, 1964; his two sons, Kevin Crawford and Korey Crawford; his grandchildren, Marli (Nate) Jakubisin, Laine (Katelyn) Crawford, Haley (Trevor Gibson) Crawford, and Chase Crawford; his great-grandchildren, Easton, Mason, Emmy, Benson, and baby Gibson due in December; his siblings, Danny (Janet) Crawford, Ray (Mindy) Crawford, Ted Crawford, Tom (Karen) Crawford, and Helen Crawford; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Richard (Dick) J. Hughes, 81, of New Concord passed away July 7, 2023. He was born in Zanesville, January 17, 1942, son of the late Harold and Clara Hughes. He attended New Concord High School. Dick began his career building custom homes as an independent contractor. He cut and sold timber while his hobby was breeding and selling quarter horses. He, along with his wife, Marti, won awards from The All American Quarter Horse Congress and the World Show held in Oklahoma. He was an advisor for, and he was very active with the Zane Trace Riders 4-H Club. Dick served as a volunteer fireman for the Norwich Volunteer Fire Department. He served as a special deputy for the Muskingum County Sheriff's Department, where he was also a founding member of their Dive Team. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting. He was a man of the soil, sharing garden's produce with friends and family. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Marti McLees Hughes, whom he married June 30, 1962; he is survived by a daughter, Heidi Hughes of Columbus; grandchildren, Whitney Hughes and Dallas (Taysa) Hughes; great grandchildren, Grayson Flowers and Jaylen Hughes; a sister, Carol Bradford of Coshocton; a sister-in-law, Margaret Hughes of Michigan; special friends, Morgan Nash, Randy and Patty Hatfield, and his special dog, Pepper. In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by a son, Richard (Rick) Hughes II and brother, Darrell Hughes. Mary Mildred Marshall, 95, of New Concord, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, at the Beckett House in New Concord, with her three children at her bedside. Mildred experienced a fall, at her home, in June; was admitted to Genesis Hospital for treatment, and later discharged to the Beckett House for rehab. Mildred was born on September 25, 1927 to the late George Willis and Estella Gertrude (Warne) Willis. Both of her parents had previously been married; both their spouses died young and both had a son from their first marriage: Ralph Willis and Raymond Dyer. Mildred graduated from Madison High School (home of the Eagles) in 1944 and then attended Cambridge Business College for seven months. Mildred worked at Fletcher Army Hospital, in Cambridge, until the war ended, then she was employed at Soil Conservation Services for several months and then worked at Thompson's Feed Mill, in Cambridge, for six years. Mildred married John Roy Marshall, of New Concord, on April 12, 1952 at the parsonage of the first Methodist Church in Cambridge, with the groom's sister and brother-in-law (Ethel and Nathan Montgomery) acting as witnesses. After their marriage Mildred became a devoted and loving wife, supporting Roy in his work/career as a farmer, school bus driver AND Adams Township Trustee; she also became the bookkeeper/accountant for her family, keeping meticulous records of everything involved in running a family farm. Mildred was also a loving and supportive mother to their four children; closely following their activities, achievements and careers and much later, followed and celebrated the careers/accomplishments of her five grandchildren as well. In addition to her family, she also maintained several close friendships (many of whom were lifelong friends) and mourned the loss of each, as she experienced their deaths, over time. Mildred is survived by three of her children; John (Sandy) Marshall of New Concord, Janet (Jeremy) Brockwell of Cambridge, and Beverly Marshall of Zanesville, her son-in-law- William (Debbie) Barber, of New Concord, her five grandchildren; Ryan (Jodi) Marshall of Thornville, Lee Barber of Baltimore, Lindsay (Marc) Barber of Columbus, Jamie Allen of New Concord, and Amanda Vordenberg of Cincinnati and her seven great-grandchildren; Kaiden Walls, Jase Allen, Baylee and Griffin Vordenberg, Maeve and Liam Barber and Aubree Clendenning. Mildred is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-laws; Ralph (Chloe) Willis, Raymond (Hazel) Dyer, and Roy's siblings and their spouses; Chris and Mary (Marshall) Pidcock (2001, 1998), Nathan and Ethel (Marshall) Montgomery (2010, 2015) and Jim and Martha (Marshall) McCall (2023-1976), her nieces; Martha Jean (Pidcock) Nelson (2013), Betty (Pidcock) Clark (2013), her daughter; Vivian K. Barber (2008) and her loving husband, John Roy Marshall (2017). The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Genesis Hospital (Three East) and the Beckett House for taking such good care of mom during her final weeks.
