Mildred Henrietta Whitaker Coleman, 81, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was born in Monroe, NC, the daughter of the late Margaret Gainey Whitaker. She loved her grandchildren and family dearly. She enjoyed sewing and shopping. Surviving is her husband, Lynwood Coleman; sons, Ernie (Janet) Coleman and Wade Coleman; grandchildren, Mikayla Coleman, Chris Coleman, Skyler Coleman, Erin Coleman, Baylee Coleman, Morgan (AJ) Altamirano, Jennifer Coleman, Miley Parker, and Bryce Turner; her 6 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Phillis (Barry) Beaver. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on March 2, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the funeral home. JoAnn Gannon Talbott, 78, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Ms. Talbott was born in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late Joesph Raymond Gannon and Wanda Mace Gannon. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Ms. Talbott received a double major and the title Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee. She was a long-time distinguished realtor in Florence. She was the First Female Realtor Emeritus in SC, and she served on the State Board of Realtors. Her engaging personality touched all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Gannon. Surviving is her son, Joe Talbott; daughter, Cristi DeWitt; grandchildren, Megan Talbott, Brittany Talbott, and Jackson Talbott; and sister, Jennie Gannon Gerace of Johnson City, TN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church 2536 Hoffmeyer Rd. Entombment will follow at Mt. Mrs. Mickann “Mickie” Hanniford, 64, wife of the late Samuel “Eric” Hanniford, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Regency Hospital of Florence. Mrs. Hanniford was born on November 11, 1959, in Florence County, daughter of Heyward S. McGee and Retha Floyd McGee. She was a graduate of Lake City High School, retired from Baxter and was a CNA at Commander Nursing Home. Mickie attended Terrell’s Church of God of Prophecy, taught Sunday School and loved singing in the choir. Mickie was a sweet, kind, and humble lady. We are beyond blessed that God made her our mama and grandmama; she was such an amazing woman and will be extremely missed. Surviving are her daughter, Erica Hanniford (Joshua) Conyers of Lake City; son, William “Ryan” (Krystle) Flowers of PA; grandchildren, Micah "Jayce" Hanniford, Khloe Conyers, Connor Flowers, Corbin Flowers and Cali Flowers; sister-in-law, Jennie (Lindy) H. Miles of Turbeville; godchildren whom she claimed as her own, Father James McAlister of Summerville and Ashley (Wesley) Teal of Effingham. Mrs. Hanniford was preceded in death by her siblings, Opal McGee (Paul) Harrison and Learice McGee. Services will be private.

A Memorial Graveside service will be Saturday March 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Timmonsville, SC. The family will speak to those attending after the service. Faye was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late William Lafaye and Margaret Anderson Clamp. She was a member of Peniel Baptist Church. Faye retired as an Administrative Assistant with the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. She was married to the late Roger Dale Smith, Sr. Surviving are her son, Roger Dale Smith, Jr; daughter, Rose Anne Smith, four sisters, Carolyn B. Ronald S. Beam of Florence, SC and a native and former resident of Cherryville, NC passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Presbyterian Home in Florence, SC. Ron was born July 17, 1934, in Cherryville, the son of the late James Webb and Eva Julia Beam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Frankie Helms Beam; and his siblings, Joyce Beam, James Robert Beam, and Jane Beam Helms. He is survived by his three children, Rhonda Beam Avant (John) of Florence, SC, Julia Beam Sander (Charlie) of Mount Pleasant, SC, and David Brently Beam (Sharon) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; grandchildren, Christie Sander Yantis (Steve), John Brandon Avant (Casey), Meredith Ann Sander, James Heath Beam (Fotini), and Ronald Brooks Avant; great grandchildren, Riley Julia Davies, Charlotte Ann Davies, Bailey Grace Avant, Dylan Mackenize Avant, and Jamison George Sander; and numerous nephews and nieces. Ron was a faithful member of Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church of Florence, SC and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Cherryville, NC for most of his life. Ron retired from Carolina Freight Carriers Corp. of Cherryville after over 35 years working as a truck driver. During his almost 30 years of retirement, he spent much of his time playing golf and actually made two holes in one in a single month a few years before having to give up the game. He loved Frankie, his family, golf, animals, the Dallas Cowboys, his friends, and telling stories. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, February 9, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter Porter Funeral Home. Hazel Marsh Dennis Tobar, 84, widow of Thomas W. Tobar, Jr., died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Mcleod Hospice House in Florence. Born August 5, 1939, in Hartsville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Thomas Marsh and the late Corine Gainey Marsh. Mrs. Marsh was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and working with flowers. Survivors, include six children, Mary Etta Dennis, Walter Michael Dennis (Kathy), and Cindy Dennis Fricker all of Sumter, David Lee Dennis, Sr. (Deborah) of Rembert, Crystal “Red” Hodge of Manning, and David Tinow of Mesa, AZ; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by five brothers, J.M. Gainey, Lee Marsh, Gene Marsh, Marion Marsh, and Heyward Marsh. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Bobby Driggers and the Rev. Bill Tschorn. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Ivey, Jacob Ivey, Timothy Phillips, David Barkley, Dale Dennis, David Lee Dennis, Jr., and Eric Applebee. Born in Marlboro County, SC, March 1, 1950, he was the son of the late Nick Ware Hayes, Sr. and Carrie Lee Brigman Hayes. He was a graduate of Lower Marlboro High School, and attended Christian Fellowship Church. He retired from Bellsouth after 25 years of service, was involved in the Marlboro Men's Ministry building wheelchair ramps, and he built computers. Survivors include his wife, Ginger Jones Hayes of Bennettsville, SC; daughters, Sherry English (Brian), Jenny Poole (Chad), Nicole Peele, all of Bennettsville, SC, and Regann Howell of Rockingham, NC; sons, Brenton F. Hayes of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Kevin Howell (Crystal) of Ellerbe, NC; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, Nick & Carrie Hayes; son, Nicholas Ware Hayes; mother-in-law, Barbara Hodge; father-in-law, Billy Hodge; brother, W.C. Hayes; and sister, Elease Moye.
