"Jennings: It's with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Janet Seaux Istre announces her passing from this life on September 12, 2023, at the age of 72. Janet was born in Jennings, LA to John "Shug" Seaux and Joyce Perry on November 21, 1950. She was a homemaker, who cared deeply for her family. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family and making memories with them, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Janet is survived by her husband, Michael C. Istre; her daughters, Miranda I. Trahan (Doris), Kimberly I. Robinson (Brady), Michelle I. Hall (Joseph), Rachel I. Broussard (Luke); her sons, Cedric Istre (Tracy), Brandon Istre (Valerie), Tregg Istre; her grandchildren, Micah, Myah, Drew, Brittni, Joshua, Ethan, Madison, Christian, Michael, Colby, Victoria, Alex, Gracie, Avery, Braeden, Isabella, Gabriella, Olivia, London, Elodie, Emerie, Malachi, Noah, Gabe, Brady, Jr. , Logan, Ella, Loni; as well as four great grandchildren. Janet is now rejoicing with the family that preceded her in death her parents, John "Shug" Seaux, \u0026amp; Joyce Seaux; her mother-in-law, Beatrice Istre; her father-in-law, Charles Istre; her brother Micheal Seaux; her brother-in-law, Terrell Istre; her granddaughter, Adriana Grace Broussard. Funeral Services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Mikey Istre will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mermentau Cemetery. Those chosen to honor her as her pallbearers will be Joshua Istre, Colby Istre, Drew Trahan, Malachi Washington, Logan Hall, Noah Washington, Christian Istre, \u0026amp; Michael Istre. ObituaryJenningsPerry Lynn Lopez died Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, surrounded by his loving family. He courageously fought cancers and is now with his parents, Perry and Katherine Lopez, who preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 11:45 a. m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will follow in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 9:00 a. m. until the time of service at 11:45 a. m. Growing up on a farm in Hathaway, it was only natural that Perry would end up raising pigs and grow vegetables. In 1965, he graduated from Hathaway High School, and then entered the U. S. Army, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. Perry served as president of the Vietnam Veterans Association 215, Kinder Chapter. For many years, he worked as a sales consultant in the beauty industry. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and his Veteran friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Crance Lopez of Hathaway; his sister, Linda Lorraine Prather and husband, Myron; his nephews, Joey Fontenot and wife Kaitlyn, and Jay Prather, all of Springfield, LA; his adopted children, Amy Lopez Brammer and Justin Lopez; his stepdaughter, Claire Bourque and spouse, Brett; and step-granddaughter, Bailey Bourque.Show more

Herman Benoit

Age - 83

"Jennings: A Mass of Christian burial for Herman Ray Benoit, 83 of Jennings, LA will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Father Bill Miller officiating. A gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews \u0026amp; Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 8:00 AM and continue until the time of his Funeral Mass. Herman will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Herman was born in Welsh, LA on January 19, 1940, to Denis Benoit and Mary Lou Sittig Benoit. Herman was called from his earthly life by his Heavenly Father on November 8, 2023. Herman served our country honorably in the Navy. From 1959 until 1963. He then went on to work for Shell Oil Co. for twenty years, then he worked for Peten International out of Africa for twelve years before retiring. On February 27, 1965, he married the love of his life and together they raised three sons, as well as helping raise one of his granddaughters. Herman was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where he served as a Lay Minister of Communion and Choir member. He served for five years on the Jefferson Davis Parish water District #4, and in 1981 was awarded the Jefferson Davis District Award of Merit for his leadership in Scouting. Herman was a very generous man and loved helping his neighbors, wherever he was needed. Most of all he loved the time he was able to spend with his family and friends. Herman was a kind and generous soul, who was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Herman leaves behind to cherish the memories they made, his loving wife, Clara Benoit of Jennings, LA; his son, Gregory Heath Benoit; his granddaughter/daughter, Ashley S. He loved being outdoors, singing, and working with his hands. He was a great brother, son, uncle, and friend. Ranier loved his family, friends, and especially his god children, and spent any chance he could with them. Ranier was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He worked as a certified Well Tester in the petroleum industry. Kurt loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working on old cars. He was a member of Da Mis Fits Bike Club. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. "Linda was born and raised in Elton, LA where she married the love of her life, Philip A. Doise. They were married for 60 years and had the most amazing love and life together. After retiring, they lived the remainder of her life at their ranch in the Texas Hill Country. Her five children and husband were at her side when she left us to join her family that preceded her death: Willis \u0026amp; Rosabella Young (parents), Billye Faye Fontenot (sister), and Dean Young (brother). She is survived by her five children, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; as well as her brother. Mark (wife Lori) daughters-Rylie \u0026amp; Marlo. Leah (husband Jonathan Kiev), Son- Chase Neitermayer (wife Samantha) their children- Ryan, Jax \u0026amp; Judd, Son- Chance Neitermayer (wife Taylor) their daughters- Hunter Mae \u0026amp; Stevie. Matt (wife Valerie), daughter Abigail. Tom (wife Laura), their sons- Mason \u0026amp; Hayden and daughters- Karlie \u0026amp; Ava. Kari (husband Phil Roosa), their children, Finley \u0026amp; Lyla, Grant \u0026amp; Taylor Trahan (her daughter- Renlie). Lonnie Young (wife Mary). Linda enjoyed being a wife, mom and \u0026quot;Granny\u0026quot; and brought so much love and life into her family\u0027s lives. She and Phil were very involved in their church and community. She enjoyed gardening, travel, life on their ranch; especially the sunset rides with her husband each afternoon. She was loved by many lifelong friends and was blessed to have many special visits the months before her passing. In his spare time, he loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, or attending family gatherings. He also loved going to the Casino and playing pool. Bob was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mickey Stanley; children, Kim Wentzell, Wendy Levens (Brian), and Sunny Devall (Alfred), all of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with his grandchildren, Regan, Bubba, Blayden, Gabi, Tug, Velle, Sutton, and Beckam.
