Janet Eshleman Obituary

JANET MARIE ESHLEMAN, 75, of Maplewood, passed away at 11:51 P. M. Friday, April 21, 2023 at Hospice of Miami County. She was born on June 23, 1947 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert Theodore and Ruth Violet (Latimer) Eshleman. Janet is survived by two brothers, Theodore (Carol) Eshleman of Union, OH, Richard (Kathie) Eshleman of Anna; one sister, Judy (David) Fogt of Maplewood; one niece, Kim (Joe) Royer; two nephews, Bradley (Krista) Eshleman, and Tony (Judy) Eshleman; eight great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces. She was preceded in death by one nephew, Theordore Eshleman, Jr. Janet was a 1965 graduate of Anna High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green University and went on to get a master's in education. Janet taught kindergarten at Emerson for 30 years and she loved her job. She also served as a volunteer at Shelby Hills Summer Camp for 21 years and was a church Sunday school teacher. Janet said often, "I didn't have any children of my own, but I've helped over 1000 children get their start. " Janet was member of the Crimson Belles of St. Paul's, and also the Retired Teachers of Shelby County. She enjoyed puzzles, watching game shows, and working on various crafts. Janet also had a fond, love for elephants. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved to organize Easter and Christmas celebrations for her nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11 A. M. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with Pastor James Oates officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10 A. M. until the time of service.
