Sally Marie King, 83, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, died March 2, 2024, at Whitestone Care Center in Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald S. King, with whom she had shared 33 years before his passing in 2022. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late August and Sally (Szuszaman) Somodi. Sally was a bingo and tricky tray enthusiast and always a winner. Sally enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, nature, and spending time with her large family. As a lifelong animal lover, she enjoyed watching the deer but was especially fond of cats. Sally retired from accounting after 40+ years of career progression at Mack Trucks. Sally is survived by her children: Vicky Papics, Marie Deresky, Patrick Saragusa, Albert Saragusa, Gasper Saragusa, Sally Jo Saragusa, and Elizabeth Kennedy; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Pasquale worked as a car mechanic for the Long Island Railroad. He enjoyed tinkering with woodworking on his time off. Pasquale loved to challenge himself with mega puzzles of 1,000+ pieces. He also took pleasure in travelling. It is with sadness, affection and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Edith Amy Dahlstrom O'Neill, 100, a beloved resident of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Edith's journey came to a gentle close on March 2, 2024 surrounded by the warmth of her memories and the presence of those who cared for her deeply. Born on January 31, 1924 into the loving family of Oscar and Agatha Dahlstrom in Cranston, Rhode Island, Edith was a cherished sister among four daughters. Her early years were marked by a vibrant spirit and a keen intellect, culminating in her graduation from Cranston High School and to a role as a secretary within the civilian ranks of the United States Army, where she met her future husband, Charles A. O’Neill, Sr., whose memory she held close following his passing. Edith's legacy flourishes through her devoted children: Charles A. O’Neill, of Waltham, Massachusetts; Brian O'Neill of Stamford, Connecticut; Kevin O'Neill of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and Steven O'Neill, who predeceased her. Her life was further enriched by the enduring bond with her caretaker, Brett Reish, whose companionship and care brought her immense comfort and joy. Edith's heart swelled with pride for her four grandchildren, Adam O'Neill, Brianna O'Neill-Tevlin, Shannon Irving, and Trevor O'Neill. ? Her five great-grandchildren are also a testament to the beautiful family she nurtured. Edith's journey from Rhode Island took her to the charming communities of Darien and Stamford, Connecticut and to the serene landscapes of Moore's Mills, New York, and finally to her cherished homes in New Hope and East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and Provincetown, Massachusetts. Wherever she resided, Edith's presence was a beacon of warmth, resilience, and a ready smile that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Barbara E. Sattur, 90, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving children. She was the widow of the late James J. Sattur, Sr. with whom she shared an amazing 66 years of marriage at the time of his passing in November of 2019. Born in Freehold, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Robert Arlen and Helen (Balog) Rossi. Barbara enjoyed spending time with James Sr, collecting any form of angels, photos of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading romance novels, and cooking for her family. More than anything, Barbara loved being a wife, mother, grandmother(Mommom), and great grandmother (Mommommom). She often stated, “I’m a mom, that’s what I do.” She loved to knit and had a holiday tradition of making sweaters for her family at Christmas. Barbara's love and devotion to her family were a model for all to live by. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Florence Heath-Brinkley on February 26, 2024, due to a brief illness at the age of 94. Florence had resided at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Stroudsburg, PA where she passed away. She was born in Washington, District of Columbia, and moved to Cottage City, MD in 1936, where she attended elementary school and graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1947. She met Ralph Heath (deceased) through Ralph’s sister. They were married on September 27, 1947 and were together for 40 years. After Ralph’s passing (in 1988) Florence met and married Wilbur Brinkley in 1992. They were married for 17 years before Wilbur passed away in 2009. In 2010, she sold her home in Maryland and went to live with her daughter in Effort, PA until 2023. Florence was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, warm personality and loving ways. She is survived by her sister Carolyn Blauvelt from Silver Springs, MD., her three children, Elaine Morales (Ray) from NC, Janet Bilecki and Brian Heath from Effort, PA., 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that she loved so very much. We will all miss her deeply. Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories. Jason graduated from Pleasant Valley High School, class of 2000. He was competitive in everything he did and was very energetic and known for his crazy sense of humor. He was a truly caring person that will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. You could often find Jason filling his time at the bowling alley enjoying the same game appreciated by so many of his family. He enjoyed watching all sports but loved his Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees. He would always have his dog by his side as they did everything together. He attended Morristown High School. He and his wife Laura Martin had just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on January 15th. Arthur worked shipping and receiving for Honeywell Inc. Arthur was a one of a kind and loving, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed word searches, taking walks with his grandson, spending time with his family, playing games with his grandchildren, watching his favorite TV show reruns and enjoying the outdoors in the summertime.Arthur is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 41 years Laura J Martin of Stroudsburg, two sons William Martin of Scranton, Jason Martin and his wife Erica of Scotrun. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Eleanor (Margoes) Phillips. Carol worked as a kindergarten teacher and loved her time with children. She had a giving nature and was a gracious hostess, always greeting people with a smile. Taking trips to the beach, especially the Jersey Shore were treasured moments for her. Carol cherished her dogs and loved shepherds and Newfoundlands. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed. She is survived by her son Craig Hodge, daughter Susan Hodge; daughter-in-law Jeanine Silvani; grandchildren: Brogan Hodge; Shannon, Jane, and Christina Silverman; and cherished cousins Patricia and Thomas Kelly. Martha Elizabeth (Bierbower) DeFrancesco, 98, of East Stroudsburg, formerly of Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Pleasant Valley Manor, Stroudsburg, PA.Martha was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles T. Bierbower and the late Margaret E. (Greaf) Bierbower. She graduated from high school in Baltimore City County.During her marriage, Martha raised her daughters and managed the household as her profession. Afterwards, she worked as an Office Manager for Altec, Colmar, PA for 10 years, retiring in 1991. She went on to work in Paradise Manor, a personal care home in Hatfield for several years, and then provided private home health care.Martha was an active member of Immanuel Leidy's Church for over 35 years. She was involved in many ministries, including assisting with Summer Bible School and Sunday School, helping in the Nursery, working to set up the annual Rummage Sale, and running the church Library. She was an avid reader of biographies, a talented seamstress, and enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge. She delighted in watching all major team sports. Martha was active in the early Pro-Life movement and donated to numerous charitable organizations throughout her life.She is survived by her three daughters, Joanne DeFrancesco of East Stroudsburg, PA, Dianne DeFrancesco and husband Steve Martin of Marietta, GA, Renee Reichley and husband Scott of Green Lane, PA, her granddaughter, Carey Lear and husband Craig of Perkasie, PA and her grandson, Sam Reichley, and her two great-grandsons, Austin Lear of Perkasie, PA and Logan Lear of Perkasie, PA.
