Mrs. Jane Audrey Mitchell, age 78, formerly of Lafayette, IN, died peacefully at home, under hospice care, with family by her side. Jane was born in St. Louis, MO, then raised in Nashville, TN, where she graduated from Hillsboro High School. She attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN She is preceded in death by father, William Best, mother, Jane S Best; brothers Richard Best and Robert (Jean) Best; sisters, Dorothy (John) Noftle and Vera Best. Jane had a long career starting with being an Administrative Assistant and finishing out by retiring as a Purchasing Agent. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joseph L Mitchell, her only child, daughter Kimberly (Timmy) Hedgecoth, granddaughter Rachael (Keith) Fidler, grandson Michael Moriarty, great-granddaughter Mercedez Fidler, sister Mary Wright and sister-in-law Hildah Best and many nieces and nephews. Jane's wishes were to be cremated and her ashes spread with her husband's when he passes, at their favorite place in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains. There will be a memorial service at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 12 - 3 PM.

Florence (Miller) Johnson, 92, passed away peacefully at Rosewalk Village Nursing Home in Lafayette, Indiana, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 12:35 pm, surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born to the late Robert and Sena (Geisler) Miller in Idaville, IN on March 1, 1931. On November 25, 1950, Florence married the love her life, Charles Johnson in Monticello, who preceded her in death on September 20, 2014. Florence graduated from Idaville High School. Florence went to work at Peters Revington Furniture Store in Delphi where she served the community with her knowledge of furnishings and excelled in sales. In her free time, she loved to spend hours in the kitchen preparing meals for her family. Not only did she have a knack for cooking, she also was well known to have a green thumb. Florence thoroughly enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She consistently maintained a spotless home where she would share love and warmth with her family. Florence cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who she admired greatly. Surviving Florence include her children; Steven (Denice) Johnson, Shirley (Bob) Burkhalter, brother; Kenny(Judy) Miller, sisters; Darlene (Ralph) Strik, Shirley(Dave) Hefflemire. Florence was preceded in death by her husband; Charles Johnson, brothers; Leslie Miller, Richard Miller, sisters; Louise Waite, Lulabelle Stidham, Becky Satterthwaite, and Cora Miller. A funeral service honoring the life of Florence will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 1 pm, located at Davidson-Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N. Union St. Delphi, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at I. O. O. F Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pittsburg, IN. Born November 9, 1944, she grew up in Springfield, Illinois until her marriage in 1964. She resided in Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Illinois. Rock Island, Illinois became her home in 1982, where she remained until moving to Indiana to be near family in 2021. Affectionately referred to as Silly Sally, she will be remembered for her orange peel smiles and waking from fake naps. She enjoyed bible studies, her beloved cats Cooper and Casey, collecting and making recipes, quilting, solitaire, and cruising Facebook. She is survived by daughter Sue (Mike) Butram, son Steve (Pam) Lubben, sister Nancy Swanson, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Margaret L. Rupp, 96, of Crawfordsville, Indiana and formerly of Angola, Indiana, passed away suddenly on November 26, 2023, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born on September 5, 1927, in Wolcottville, Indiana to Clair and Jeannette (Rawles) Kunce. Margaret graduated from Pleasant Lake High School. Margaret had worked at Dana Weatherhead in Angola, Indiana for 40 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Angola Moose Auxiliary and Dana Weatherhead Retiree's. Margaret enjoyed golfing, bowling and reading, especially Danielle Steel books. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Surviving is her daughter, Linda Walsh Biggs of Lafayette, Indiana; stepdaughter, Sue Ann (Josh) Rupp of Sarasota, Florida; brother, Richard Kunce of Kendallville, Indiana; sisters, Marcile Juif of Wolcottville, Indiana and Bonnie Bryan of Angola, Indiana; half-brothers, LeRoy Kunce and Roy Kunce both of Angola, Indiana. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Angela (Ryan) Hall, Anthony (Sara) Biggs, Amanda Biggs, Cody (Jessica) Walsh and Zachary (TaSondra) Walsh and her 9 beloved great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved dog, Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Fred Walsh Jr. in 1961 and Robert Rupp in 2020, two sons, Jimmy Walsh and Randy Walsh and sisters, Betty Derrow and Wilda Sheppard and brother, Lee Kunce. Funeral Service will be 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana. Michael D. Booher, Minister will be officiating. McPherson, Continue Reading x Patricia Ann McPherson January 26, 1935 - November 16, 2023 Patricia Ann McPherson, known to her loved ones as Pat, passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 88, in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born on January 26, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Edmund J. Burke and Ruth (Comins) Burke. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard E. McPherson, and their son Richard E. McPherson Jr. Patricia was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend. She had a warm and radiant smile that brightened the lives of those around her. She found joy in teaching crafts to her grandchildren and spending quality time with her family. Patricia's love for decorating and planning parties made holidays even more special for her loved ones. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching football and golf on TV. Sewing was another passion that Patricia inherited from her mother, Ruth. She often used her talent as a seamstress to help out her neighbors and friends, whether it was fixing a small tear or creating whole outfits. Patricia even had the opportunity to model her creations at local fashion shows. Patricia is survived by her children: Patty McPherson (Ron Campbel), Joanne Calabro (Paul), Kathy Williams (Larry), and Michael McPherson. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Paul Calabro, Michael Calabro (Nicolette), Ryan McPherson, Andy McPherson (Jessica), Brendan Williams, Aubrey Williams, and Celine McPherson. She is also survived by her siblings: Maureen Young, Edmund Burke Jr, and Barbara Johns. Patricia received her primary education at Christ The King Catholic School in Amherst, New York. She then attended Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo, New York, for high school. Patricia continued her higher education at Rosary Hill College in Amherst, New York. Throughout her career, Patricia worked as a Computer Data Entry Clerk for JC Penny. Her dedication and attention to detail made her an invaluable member of the team. After her retirement, Patricia and husband Richard moved from their home in Williamsville, NY to Florida and resided in Clearwater and then purchased a home in Holiday. In 2019 she moved to Lafayette, IN to be closer to her daughter Kathy. A devote Catholic, Patricia worshipped at St Leo the Great Church in Amherst, NY and then was a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul CC in Holiday, FL. Her faith was an important aspect of her life and provided her with strength and guidance. In her free time, Patricia indulged in various hobbies, including sewing, crafting, painting, and ceramics. These creative outlets allowed her to express herself and bring beauty into the world. A celebration of Patricia's life and the interment of her and husband Richard's ashes will take place in Buffalo, New York, sometime in the Spring of 2024. Details regarding the ceremony will be announced at a later date.
