Sally Lubben, 79, joined her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2023, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born November 9, 1944, she grew up in Springfield, Illinois until her marriage in 1964. She resided in Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Illinois. Born November 9, 1944, she grew up in Springfield, Illinois until her marriage in 1964. She resided in Michigan, New York, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Illinois. Rock Island, Illinois became her home in 1982, where she remained until moving to Indiana to be near family in 2021. Affectionately referred to as Silly Sally, she will be remembered for her orange peel smiles and waking from fake naps. She enjoyed bible studies, her beloved cats Cooper and Casey, collecting and making recipes, quilting, solitaire, and cruising Facebook. She is survived by daughter Sue (Mike) Butram, son Steve (Pam) Lubben, sister Nancy Swanson, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute in memory of Sally to Edgewood Baptist Church, 2704 38 th St. Rock Island, IL 61201 Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Daniel Berry officiating. Sally was the sweetest person I've ever known. We worked together at Genesis, but were more like friends than co-workers. She attended my daughter's funeral in 2020 and her spiritual support helped me so much. "Silly" Sally was and always will be an Angel.
