Jamie Laron Butler 51, passed away in Fort Walton Beach Florida on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Jamie was born on October 22, 1971 to Larry and Gloria Butler in Milton, Florida. Jamie was a lifelong resident of Crestview and a 1989 graduate of Crestview High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army and was a veteran. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed being a D. J and a bouncer in our local city. Jamie is preceded in death by his father, Larry Butler and his brother, Kenny Butler. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p. m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Burnetta Kay (Ross) Johnston, 82, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2023 while a resident at Carington Manor in Crestview, Florida. Kay was born May 29, 1941, to Wayne Jacob and Marguerite (Lewis) Ross in Jackson, Ohio. She was a graduate of Mad River High School in Dayton, Ohio. Kay was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She was a dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, was always up for an adventure and absolutely loved planning parties and working on projects. She took great pride in fulfilling her roles as a Vision Science Graduate Program Coordinator at the UAB School of Optometry, as well as a wonderful wife and a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She was a true friend. Kay was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Jacob Ross; mother, Marguerite (Lewis)Ross; sister, Karen (Ross) Brown (Charlie); brothers-in-Law, Gene Wilson (Erla) and Russ Hastler (DeeDee); granddaughter, Melissa Silvani. Kay is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Terry Charles Johnston, of Birmingham, Alabama; daughter Sondra Gail (Long) Silvani and husband, Al Silvani of Crestview, Florida; grandchildren, Seth Silvani and wife Jessica of Knightdale, NC; Sarah (Silvani) McKee and husband, Ryan of Panama City, FL; one great-grandchild, Miles Anthony McKee; sisters, Erla (Ross) Wilson of Englewood, Ohio and DeeDee (Ross) Hastler of Huber Heights, Ohio. The family would like to send a heartfelt "Thank you" to Regency Retirement Village in Birmingham, AL and to Carington Manor Assisted Living in Crestview, FL for providing excellent care to her over the last several years. A special thank you to Dr. Steven Donchey, Dr. Nick Nagrani and Dr. Eliyahu Hemo for their compassionate care. Michael Thomas Wesbur (Mike, Stretch), 60, passed on December 1, 2023. He grew up on a hog farm and enjoyed the experiences there and all that he learned. Mike was a computer programmer in his career, but a man of many trades at home. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle year round and in any kind of weather. Friends knew that if they saw a GoldWing on a winter day, it was him. It was his mode of transportation for every party, event or commute. Mike enjoyed golf and built himself a special carrier on his bike for his clubs and he had a little camper to pull behind it for trips. Mike was a talented woodworker and made a lot of amazing projects for family. He enjoyed fishing. Time spent at the lake with family and friends put a smile on his face. He enjoyed reading Science fantasy books, watching Star Trek and playing video games. Mike spent a number of years enjoying bowling leagues and tournaments. He was also committed to the Lions Club for years. He held various roles and volunteered at many events, enjoying the many friends he made there. Mike was a talker and made friends everywhere he went including during walks, vacations or any random place. Although he currently had no pets, he was a lover of animals and they always caught his attention. Mike cherished his granddaughters and could always find ways to make them laugh, with his tickle hand or the Disney world ride he called "Stinky Dog. " He loved time with family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Devin (Wen) and Steven (Carrie); three, beautiful granddaughters; mother, Barbara; brothers, Dave (Brenda) and Bill (Rachael); as well as in-laws, Leonard, Betty, John, Joy, and Roy (Olya). He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard. The family would like to extend a big "Thank you" to Graco for all the support. Lana Diane Youngblood Hansen, 78, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her home in Crestview, Florida. She is loved and will be missed by many. She was born to Herman and Nancy Kennedy Youngblood on December 22, 1944 in Crestview, Florida. She grew up living in Escambia Farms and attended Escambia Farms school. In the third grade the family moved to Crestview. She attended Northwood Elementary and graduated from Crestview High School in 1962. She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a missionary in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. She then became a teacher at Northwood Elementary in Crestview. She met Robert Allen Hansen while he was serving in the U. S. Air Force and was assigned to Eglin AFB, not far from Crestview. They married in the Salt Lake City Utah LDS Temple in 1970. Her husband received an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1972. They moved to Utah where he found work in the civil service at Hill Air Force Base, where they raised their 4 children in Layton, Utah. In 2002, Lana and her husband moved to Atlanta, Georgia where they enjoyed serving in the Atlanta temple. When Robert retired, they returned to Lana's hometown of Crestview. Lana was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother of four children Rebecca Hatch (Jason), Allen (Heather Marie), Layne (Heather Lynn) and Cindy Huffman (Larry). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Loretta Bangerter and grandson Porter Hatch. Lana loved her family and enjoyed working on her family history, sending cards to family and friends, sewing and quilting. She was fond of dancing at a young age. She enjoyed attending family reunions and gatherings. Thank you to Dr. Christopher and staff. John D. Crawford of Baker passed away at the age of 84 on November 27, 2023. He was a life-long resident of Crestview. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry & Bessie Crawford; Brothers, Lonnie Ray Crawford, Herbert L. Crawford, James E. Crawford and Gerald H. Crawford; Sisters, Edna Mae Mason, Betty J. Barnhill and Glenda Newman. J. D. leaves behind a legacy of family, his beloved wife of 56 years, Faye Crawford; sons and daughters in law, Kenneth & Carol and Kevin & Cathryn; grandchildren, Ashlyn & Chris Tinklepaugh, Apryl Dorsey, Jesse & Bridget Crawford, Dillon Crawford, Joseph Crawford, Bailey & Travis Burton, Gracie & Brett Aldridge and Carson Crawford; Great grandchildren, Kate Dorsey, Levi Tinklepaugh, Ramona Aldridge, Harlow Burton, John Dillon Crawford and Trace Everett Crawford along with numerous extended family and friends. J. D. loved God and his country. He proudly served in both the Navy & Army. He made a career as an Emergency Medical Technician. J. D. was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting & fishing with his family. Everyone knew J. D. as being quiet and reserved; that is until you got him reeved up! There was never a doubt that he loved his family beyond measure. J. D. considered it an honor when his last great grandchild was born and nicknamed J. D. His love went beyond his immediate family to his cousin Rhett whom he considered a brother and loved dearly. J. D. will be forever loved and missed. Visitation from 9 am to 10 am will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at New Beginnings Church. Crystle Michelle Dawson 39, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023. Crystle was born on February 29, 1984 to Larry Dawson and Stephanie Vance in Winter Garden, Florida. She moved to our area from Orlando, Florida as a young child and has been a resident ever since. Crystle was paralyzed in 2001 due to a tragic accident. It didn't stop her from enjoying life. She loved her family and family gatherings. She loved watching crime shows (she was our detective) along with family game night. Most of all she loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Crystle was very loved and will be missed by all. Crystle is preceded in death by her mom, Stephanie Renee Vance, her paternal grandfather, George Dawson Sr. , her maternal papa,, Marvin Vance, her aunt and uncle, Deborah and John Butler and her uncle, William Vance.
