William "Bill" A. Frick

Dec 13, 1950 - Feb 26, 2024

location-icon

Zanesville, OH

William “Bill” A. Frick, 73, of Zanesville would like to let his friends and family know that as of February, 26, 2024, his work here on earth is done. He received an offer from our heavenly Father that he could not refuse, and thus he has transcended into heaven where he will again be able to walk, run and swing a golf club. God introduced him to the most beautiful golf courses in in the Kingdom of Heaven, and waiting to play 18 holes with him is his golf buddy, Mike Strohl! There were so many facets of life that Bill enjoyed before his body was overtaken by muscular dystrophy. He was an avid runner, preferring literally to run to the store or the barber shop miles away from home rather than driving to these places in his pickup; and the brighter the running shoes were he wore, the better! Bill was also a man of faith and served the Christian Missionary Alliance Church for as long as his health would allow. He enjoyed maintaining the sign at church and was always looking for inspirational sayings to put on the sign. His greatest joy was one Sunday when a young couple came to visit CMA church because they loved the weekly sayings displayed on the church sign. What a joyful Sunday that was for him! Bill loved all sports particularly the college football season and the hours spent with his wife, Peggy, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. And oh, how he loved food; he had his own meat platter at home that he loaded with food; there were never any left overs in the Frick house! His favorite beverage to wash down that food was a good cold beer. He never discriminated against any brown brew put in front of him. Bud Light he took with a smile; IPA… consider it gone. Busch… who doesn’t like Busch? But nothing went down smoother than his favorite…good ol’ Michelob! God knew what made Bill the happiest of all when it came to sports, food or beer—it was the game of golf. To know Bill was to know that he loved everything about golf. His love of golf extended beyond just playing 18 – 106 holes a day. He learned how to build new clubs and repair damaged ones; in the golfing community he was known as “Dr. Golf”. He used his skills to foster a golf ministry – building and donating many sets of clubs to kid’s programs with the sole hope of sparking an interest in the game of golf. Left to mourn his absence, but at the same time feeling happy that he is with God and healthy once again is his wife of 40 years, Peggy; his son, Aaron (Tanya) who at the age of 21, finally beat his dad in golf by one stroke; his daughter, Amy Clark whom he loved as his own; his brothers Ken (Cindy) Frick and Chuck (Terry) Frick; and his precious granddaughter, Stella Frick, who was the joy of his life. His parents, Walter and Florence Frick, along with his brother Larry Frick and his son Michael Clark (who is waiting to join him on the heavenly golf course) await him with open arms as he enters the Kingdom of Heaven. There will be no services; a caring cremation will take place under the direction of THE BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVE. ZANESVILLE. Bill sends his love and suggest family and friends get out and enjoy a game of golf (miniature golf will be okay too). He and his wife Peggy, want to thank Dr. Luft and his office staff, the rehab therapy department at the Oaks at Northpointe, and the Genesis Hospice staff for their support and care. To send a note of condolence please: visit www.bolin-dierkesfuneralhome.com , follow us on Facebook, or call our professional staff at 740-452-4551. To to the family or in memory of William "Bill" A.
