Faye Stamey

Age - 88

Faye E. Stamey, age 88, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Her longing to be with her Savior and to be reunited with the love of her life, husband Carl Stamey, has been fulfilled by God’s precious promises. Faye was born October 11, 1934 in Loudon, TN. She married Carl C. Stamey on February 1, 1957, and the Lord gave them two children, Jennifer (Jenny) and Clayton. When her husband passed away of leukemia on May 5, 1977, she was left to raise her children alone, but thankfully had the help of close family and friends. She continued to be a pillar of strength for her family and worked tirelessly to provide a wonderful life for them. Faye was a member of New Macedonia Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She loved to worship and fellowship with her church family. While Faye was a student at Loudon High School, she began working as a bookkeeper in the medical office of Dr. Arthur Harrison. When his son, Dr. Sam joined the medical practice, he personally trained Faye as a medical nurse. She accompanied Dr. Sam on many home visits, sometimes helping deliver a baby. She devoted her heart to her nursing career, working for more than fifty years, and returned to work after two retirements. If you grew up in Loudon, Mrs. Faye has most likely given you a shot at some time in your life. Faye was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Myrtle (Oody) Everett; her beloved husband, Carl C. Stamey; brother she adored, C. E. "Dude" Everett; sisters, Ruth Massengill and Alma Kirkland. She is survived by her children, Jenny (Arnold) Russell and Clayton (Marcia) Stamey; grandchildren, Adam (Dayvia) Russell, of South Carolina, Andrew (Sara Bowen) Russell, Courtney (Timmy) Guider, and Brittany (Josh) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Collin and Laurel Russell, Reese Ketron, Grayson and Reece Guider, and Jayce Thompson; Brothers and sisters-in-law whom she dearly loved, Reed and Rachel Stamey, Nancy Cunningham, and Raymond Stamey; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special Thanks to Fort Loudoun Medical Center, Lenoir City and Wood Village, Sweetwater, for their excellent care and compassion during this past month. Faye was most grateful to be cared for by professional doctors, nurses, and medical staff. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Bill White and Rev. Mitch Isbill officiating. The graveside service will be 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Loudon County Memorial Gardens.Show more
