James Alfred Richardson, 66, went to be in the presence of the almighty God in heaven on Thursday, October 5th, 2023. He was a patient father, adoring brother, caring uncle and family member, and a loving husband and grandad to 3 beautiful grand babies. He met his wife of 43 years, Virginia Ann, while pursuing his BA at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. James had an affinity for animals, raising everything from chickens and guinea pigs, to tortoises and the beloved poodles, even an alligator when he was a kid. He instilled a passion for learning in his own children and always nurtured creativity and logic. His insatiable curiosity made for lively and engaging conversations and his youthful exuberance never dimmed. He was a master guppy breeder, an amateur British Historian, a cryptozoology enthusiast, a prolific plant whisperer and a vivid dreamer who inspired the aspirations of those around him, but most of all he loved the Lord and his family.

Martha Fey

Martha Fey

Age - 100

November 20, 2023

Martha A. Fey, 100, was called home by Jesus in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was a resident of Cedar Ridge Alzheimer Care Center in Cedar Park, Texas. Martha was born to Joseph Bedrich and Mary Brigid Hons on July 16, 1923. Her hundred-year life was filled with many blessings, with the best being 57 years of marriage to Aloys. Together they had four children who gave them four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Aloys J Fey; parents, Joseph and Mary Hons; son, Jerome Fey; sons-in-law, James Smith and Danny Reid; brothers, Joseph (wife Edna), Sigmund, Casper, and Vincent Hons; sister, Mary Jarzombek (husband Joe); and brother-in-law, George Dziuk. Martha is survived by her children; Catherine Smith of Magnolia, James Fey (wife Janice) of Cedar Park, and Theresa Reid of Shady Shores; grandchildren, Elizabeth Resczenski (husband DeVaughn) of Mission, Johnathan Smith of Magnolia, Stephen Smith (wife Lisa) of The Woodlands, and Jennifer Macklom (husband David) of Cedar Park. Martha, also known as GG, is survived by great-grandchildren, Cora and Alice Resczenski of Mission; Leonna Salazar (husband Vincent), Emma and Tristan Smith of Magnolia; Gabriella Smith of The Woodlands; and Miriam, Naomi, and Ruth Macklom of Cedar Park. Other survivors include sisters, Ester Nester (husband John) of D'Hanis and Elizabeth Dziuk of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Grace Hons of Falls City; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Martha was an excellent baker. She spent 30 years working for the New Braunfels Independent School District's central kitchen where she baked cookies and other goodies for the children of the district. Since Martha did not drive, giving homemade cookies to those who took her to church, the doctor, or grocery store was her way of saying thank you. Christmas was always a tasty delight with so many varieties of homemade cookies, candy and always apple strudel. Actually, any day was a reason to bake cakes, pies, and definitely kolaches. She worked off all those calories taking walks up and down Kuehler Ave. and working in their garden. Martha and Aloys had a huge garden that supplied family, neighbors, friends, and the parish priests with a lot of cantaloupes and vegetables especially zucchini. It was a common sight to see them pushing a wheelbarrow full of the produce down Kuehler to give to any neighbor that was home. Also, when you came out of Mass on Sunday, you might find your front seat filled with vegetables. Martha also sewed quilts! A small number were used to keep herself warm, but most were given to family, charities, or someone who needed them. One of her grandchildren once commented, "I will always take another of GG's quilts, but I already have enough to keep us warm through the next Ice Age. " She loved making jigsaw puzzles, solving crossword puzzles, and playing games like Tarock, Skip-Bo, Uno, and Dominos. In her younger days she would play cards with her son Jerome and his friends into the night, and much to their dismay, would often beat them. One of Jerome's high school buddies was Leslie Dischinger. Over time Leslie and his wife Sandy became a valued part of the Fey family: always fixing things, giving rides, sharing meals, visiting, and generally being present. They held a special place in Aloys andShow more

Victoria Slove

Victoria Slove

Age - N/A

November 17, 2023

On November 11th, 2023, our daughter, Victoria Slove, passed onto the Lord our God. Victoria was a wonderful person, who loved life and cared for her two young daughters more than life itself. She inspired all of us with her singular focus to do something better, even in the face of adversity and was friendly to all who knew her. She encouraged her children to love one another and left an indelible mark on their lives, as well as the lives of her family and friends. Victoria was born in New Braunfels and lived all her life here in the Canyon Lake area, attending elementary, middle, and high schools in the local area before attending the University of North Texas in Denton. Victoria enjoyed life and often tubed on the river, went to local music events, spent time with her family and enjoyed relaxing with nature. She went out of her way to make things brighter for those around her. She was selfless in her daily actions and trusted in the potential good in everyone. Hard working and dependable, Victoria would go the distance for a friend in need and it was not uncommon for her to travel to different cities to help when called. Victoria was the daughter of William Slove and Fatima Slove of Canyon Lake, and the sister to an older brother, William Slove III and (Corrine Slove) of New Braunfels, and a younger sister, Desiree Slove Hunt and (Alex Hunt) of the Sequin area, and the godmother to their son, Oliver. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews and the granddaughter of William and Carol Alexander of Colorado. Active in sports and an accomplished artist, Victoria enjoyed arts and crafts with her daughters and showed them how to throw and catch a ball, swim, a pastime all three enjoyed immensely, and took a surprising interest in vehicle mechanics. She was a gal who could change a tire and check the oil and didn't wait for anyone to do this if she could do it herself. She was a self-starter and was looking to take life in a more positive direction before the tragic theft of her own life. Victoria was a dependable friend to many here at the lake and was taken from this world much too soon and we all grieve now but know that someone so special will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM (followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 AM) on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, 1071 FM 2673 Sattler/Canyon Lake, Texas 78133. Interment will follow at Mountain Valley Cemetery. The family has asked that donations be contributed to the New Braunfels Women's crisis center. Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him, For what he deserves will be done to him. Isaiah 3:11Show more
